I sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience the switch caused, and have appreciated your patience very much. Anything that doesn’t need to be privately addressed can be posted in this thread. We are still building the site, so you may see a glitch now and then, but we are working to resolve all issues as quickly as we can.
Temporarily, I am going to reset the log ins so that you only have to provide your name and email address in order to post. You must use your same email that you log in with normally in order for your gravatar to show up. It may say your comment is going into moderation, but that is a one time thing. If I approve your comment, you won’t see that message again, this is my safeguard against getting spammed due to releasing the requirement for registration. Please make sure you reset your browser so that www.bejohngalt.com does NOT have .wordpress on the end of the site name. This will involve clearing your cache. Thank you!
For those of you logged in, you will remain logged in, this will change how those not logged in can post.

I have a suggestion. How about creating a ‘guest account’ until the login issues for everybody has been dealt with?
You could post the username and password at the top of the page for people to use during the transition problems.
If you think its getting abused, you could always disable it.

The first person to abuse it will result in it’s immediate shut down, but yes, for the next couple of hours I would be happy to host a guest account. I want to say though, that the goof seems to only mess with those of us who were already registered before. New posters are seemingly getting in just fine.

Techno idiot here, so I don’t know if I will be explaining this properly. If I type bejohngalt.com into my browser thingy, I get a nasty note about an invalid certificate, and my pc WILL NOT allow me in. I even asked the prompter for an exception for this web site. It got all nasty and refused profusely. I need to go back into my history and get to the site from a time when I was successful.
Does this translate easily into computer geek-ese??

BEEJ: Go to google,type in “bejohngalt.com” select the url that google gives you and see what happens. It might work.

Beej, you can also try some of these simple work arounds .
1. Download a different browser such as Google, Opera, Firefox and see if you can get connect with one of those.
or
2. If Internet Explorer is a must for you, download a fresh copy HERE
or
3. Try restoring your system to an earlier date (easy with Windows XP).
or
4. Disable your antivirus, firewall, and whatever other securiy programs you have running and see what happens. Reenable one at a time to find the culprit.
or
5. Get a good antivirus program. You may have a virus and your browser is being redirected.
or

I had a problem logging in one time, but things seem cool now.

A big problem is that our old site is still up, so your browser automatically wants to go to the old site (if you see .wordpress.com on the end of our website name, you are in the wrong place). Use the link that IP gave you, then when you get here after clicking the link you can bookmark it at that time. Erase your old bookmark and clear your cache first. That should help. One of the many things we did not know about wordpress.org vs .com is that you cannot create a website re-direct, so if you go to the wrong site, you are not going to be taken to the new site automatically- which stinks.
Again, any time you have an issue, email me and I will do my best to fix it.

I AM NOW HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ACCESSING THE AUTHORS PAGE OF BJG. I CAN STILL POST COMMENTS, BUT CAN’T REACH THE BJG AUTHORS DRAFING SITE.THE DROP DOWN TAG ON MY SITE NO LONGER SHOWS BJG AS A COMPANION SITE, AND IN FACT SAID TAG IS NOW MISSING. Ok….I honestly can’t figure out what is going on with this site. I am getting porn/garbage spam already just from one day of trying to help out with people being able to log in without registration. Tomorrow we go back to log in. This means no worries with access to the admin side, IP (though I sent you an email link to it). I tried. Those of you who can sign on the normal way, you can log in tomorrow. Those of you with log in issues, email me or re-register using your same email address and I will change your screen name in the admin cave. You all should have received emails from me though containing new passwords to use temporarily. Those, combined with the same user names you had before should get you in with no problem.
