“Mr. Obama, Speak First at Touro”
As bc3b noted in Will Obama Apologize to the Moors?, it has been announced that Obama will be speaking to the Islamic world from Cairo, Egypt. The Washington Times reports on some of the spin and the criticism surrounding this speech in Obama’s speech in Egypt to reach out to Muslims. Elliott Abrams’ concerns regarding the struggle of some Egyptians for freedom are important.
On Saturday, I read this post by Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs in which other concerns are presented; concerns that should never be lost or forgotten in the vortex of spin: Obama, Make One Stop Before the Muslim Capital. In it she linked to a column written by Andrew Bostom for The American Thinker on February 8:
At the time of Mr. Bostom’s column, Cairo had already been discussed as a possible venue for this speech. In the article he discusses and documents the hatred of Jews taught and fomented in Egypt. He closes by presenting a contrasting visit–that of George Washington to the Touro Synagogue and the subsequent correspondence. He then writes:
Contemporary American Jewry has expressed with even greater intensity the “fervent wishes” for President Obama’s “felicity,” as their forebears did in praise of President George Washington. Will President Obama exhibit George Washington’s moral clarity and reassure contemporary Jews he is committed to their liberty and security, which is now gravely threatened by global jihadism?
Mr. Obama, before your planned speech in a Muslim capital, I urge you to address the world’s Jewish community, and condemn the jihad-inspired antisemitic violence fomented by esteemed Islamic religious institutions, including notably, Cairo’s Al Azhar University. And I can suggest the ideal venue-redolent with American history-where you should make this statement: Touro, America’s first Jewish synagogue, located in Newport, in my beloved home state of Rhode Island.

I’m on the case. Somebody has to know the name of the soldier that killed 5 American soldiers today. I’ve been all over the internet. In a last ditch effort, I went to some of the Islamic news organizations (BBC and Aljazeera) to see if they were celebrating anything. Nothing.

Chamberlain believed his conciliatory tone towards Hitler caused him to DELAY his attacks…but history clearly showed that Hitler ACCELERATED his plans for conquest after seeing what a pathetic LOSER Chamberlain was!

Okay, just FYI
The military justice system does not operate in any way, shape, or form like the civilian one. There is no political or moral consideration as to Identity of the individual who did it, they are only concerned with the fact that they GOT the bastard.
Whatever the nationality, religion, etnicity, etc of the soldier who commited the crime, the military is going to convict based of what he is/was first and foremost- a soldier, one who sadly (but hopefully, for his sake) flipped or one who turned on his comrades .
They don’t release info because A) they don’t have to, B) they don’t like the media (with good reason) and there is no sense giving them anything that may whet their interest, and C) Anything that can harm troop readiness/effectiveness and harm morale worse than Obama becoming C-in-C needs to be minimized.
Nothing sinister here, is all I am sayin’,
They would be as closed lip about the soldier’s identity if he was Joe Bob Jillicorn, Jr from AL, Luigi “th squid” franchetti from the Bronx, or Achmed Mibommablowa from wherever Al Franken’s swing vote came from.

Steele keeps stepping in sh_t, and is unfocused…at best. My problem with him is not that he’s screwed the pooch a couple times, it’s that he’s not learned from it. He needs to be replaced, that or he need to stfu, stop doing interviews and start focusing on his job.
