Tucker Carlson to Start Right-Leaning Huffington Post Alternative

This is something the conservative movement has needed for a long time. The question is whether Carlson is strong enough to carry it off.

I remember Arianna running her sissy husband for Feinstein’s seat, losing the writing in support of Gingrich’s reforms. Once she got divorced, she lost it.

Carlson is supposed to be starting up soon on Fox News. I saw him there and they congratulated him on the new post.

    Really.

Remember when she ran for CA gov and said “nyahhh” to Arnold in the debates. She actually used “nyahhh” as a retort in a debate.

she’s not the sharpest knife, for sure.

Huffington also was one of the many candidates who sought the Kalifornia governorship after Gray Davis’ recall. In retrospect, Mary Carey, the pron queen, would have been the best choice. She’s got a pair of fake boobs. Arnold and and Airi-hedda are a pair of real boobs.

I think I would be more optimistic about the site if say a Jake Tapper were starting it.

However, Carlson’s mission statement, of sorts, where he wants news “every 7 minutes,” and his goal of not having it a site to merely discuss remaking the Republican Party, like Frum’s blog, is encouraging.

As a side note, I don’t know whether anyone has seen today’s Rasmussen Poll. It is only the 2nd time I know of that Obama has gone down to a +1 in the daily Presidential Approval Index.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 31% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty percent (30%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +1. That’s the lowest positive rating yet received by the new President (see trends).

It will take several more days to determine whether today’s low ratings are merely statistical noise or a reflection of shifting perceptions.

Following the President’s speech on the Guantanamo prison camp, just 38% agree with the President’s decision. Forty-nine percent (49%) now disagree. Opinion was evenly divided in January. By a two-to-one margin, voters oppose having any of the suspected terrorists brought to prisons in the United States. Only 25% share the President’s belief that the Guantanamo camp weakened the nation’s security.

How to talk to a liberal if you really want to change his mind

So how do you talk to liberals if you want them to begin thinking logically, not emotionally, about issues? Insults are counterproductive, factual barrages are boring, and most people get defensive when they feel you’re attacking their values. Nevertheless, here are a few ways to find the chink in a liberal’s intellectual armor and, possibly, effect a sea change in his thinking.

janzam, I saw the Presidential Approval Index rating of +1 from Rasmussen…but then noted that Gallup shows that 283% of Americans approve of our Dear Leader.

    283% trumps 1% any day!!!

p.s. Citizen Rasmussen has been “selected” for re-education…we expect more appropriate poll numbers in the future!

The format for Hannity’s new show really sucks. The Great American Panel is especially weak. It almost makes you long for the old days with Skelator. Almost, but not quite.

O/T…but the Blagojevich/Burris wiretap is about to be released.

Apparently Burris offered $1500 for the Senate seat! THAT is cause for him losing it!

    Fifteen HUNDRED dollars??? From Casablanca:

Ugarte: (Peter Lorre) Rick, think of all the poor devils who can’t meet Renault’s price. I get it for them for half. Is that so… parasitic?
    Rick: (Humphrey Bogart) I don’t mind a parasite. I object to a cut-rate one.

Carlson is a squishy conservative, if a conservative at all. Given the choice of reading his blog, or a survival manual, I will start with the chapter on wild edibles.

    That might actually be interesting.

It’s beyond weak, it’s a waste of time, I turn it off as soon as the first 30 or so minutes are overwith…pointless to watch that panel unless there is some really strong guest on , occasionally I’ll turn in to the final 2-3 minutes if there is an ending interview with someone or something interesting but any value there is rare. He needs to dump the panel, or maybe just not do it every Wednesday and actually extended it so people can actually get a word in. I do no miss Alan at ALL.

I do the same with BO when ever that dipchit ellison is on or any number of people like Dr.Hill or whatever his name is…. FastForward>> I know what these people are going to say and it’s of no interest to me. I can usually catch up on tivo’s evening BO\SH\GS in about an hour or so with all the commericals and BS segments removed.

Read about the latest in the “relationship” between Blago and Burris that you posted earlier.

In a way might it be better if Burris stayed put, as he would be easier to beat when his Senate seat comes up in 2010????

Ripped through. A little pea size hail thrown in too. The fun part is seeing the rain come down at a 60 degree angle. The PGA Colonial Golf tourney starts tomorrow. God always did seem to like the play to be a little slower on the greens this time of year. They will be slogging in tomorrow. Parts of the fairways will look like a swamp.

Justrand –It’s so amazing how expendable people are in Obama’s world. It is all about power, isn’t it — Obama’s power!

I continue to wonder how far OB’s hubris will go — and, more importantly, how far the people of this country will allow it to go before they say —> “Enough!”

Tucker Carlson, whoopee. When are you gonna give up on these inside types as possible salvation? Anyone from the NE, or that is a lawyer, part of the DC brigade, are all just looking to make money off of us.

The game is rigged and they intend to keep it that way. It isnt only libs that are sheep.

The only good prez was an outsider, Ronaldus.

Our only hope is with the ones they all want to demonize. Try Sarah Palin as an example.

Off topic, but sadly Ted Olson (you remember, Bush’s atty in Bush v Gore and a Solicitor General – somebody we thought was a conservative and originalist) has revealed himself to be an aggresive cultural leftist, and opponent of the Tenth Amendment:

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Ted-Olson-goes-to–46137917.html

First Colin, now Ted….I wonder who will be next during the GOP’s period in the wilderness to reveal themselves to be a collosal RINO jack ass. Well on the bright side, when the chips are down you find out who your true friends are.

It’s amazing how many turncoats we have had in the “conservative” movement. The elite care much more about how the cocktail circuit perceives them than the base. That’s why Sarah Palin is so appealing to me. She is a real person who would rather be snowmobiling with her family than at a DC cocktail party.
