Burkas, Hijabs, Vote Counts and the 4th of July

Burkas and Hijabs

Are the French suddenly more courageous than Americans? You remember the French … those wonderful people that build the Maginot Line that didn’t stop the Germans and world record holders in any and all events involving surrender? Phyllis Chesler of Pajamas Media makes a case that they are, or at least their leadership is.

Vote Counts: 1, 2, 6, 17 ….

And, here’s some information regarding voting irregularities: TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) — Iran’s election authority has rejected claims of voting irregularities by a defeated presidential candidate, while acknowledging that the number of ballots cast in dozens of cities exceeded the number of eligible voters there, state-run TV reported Monday.

Iran’s Guardian Council — which approves all candidates running for office and verifies election results — said candidate Mohsen Rezaie alleged irregularities in 170 cities, and that excessive ballots were found in 50 cities, according to government-funded Press TV.

I wonder if the Iranian government had the New York Times, See-BS News and Acorn run the election.

In terms of the the economy, “we are all Detroiters.” In elections, it appears “we are all residents of CrOOK County” regardless of where we live in the world.

Beating and Killing Builds Up a Real Appetite

And, on July 4 why not take the day off from beating and killing and join us for a cook out?

    ah, hattip her, bc3b! 🙂

it now appears certain we are going to be subjected treated to a Obama <==> Imadinnerjacket bump & grind sometime soon. It’s the photo-op Obama’s been dying for since he got elected…and he’s not about to let actual Iranians dying stop it!

A piece over at Power Line once again points to media bias. But, this time it goes further by asserting such bias, by short-changing news, actually distorts the perspective of the public it serves — all because it tries to make Obama “look” good at the price of leaving tidbits out that “might” make him weak or bad.

But then, if Times readers were permitted to know just how demented Khamenei’s views of the world are, they might come to the conclusion that Obama’s intense desire to sit down with him, and his constant pandering to Iran’s “supreme leader” are ill-advised and counterproductive. They might come to the conclusion that it is impossible to achieve a meeting of the minds with a man who calls Americans “morons” and leads his subordinate government officials in chants of “Death to America,” “Death to Britain” and “Death to Israel.”

Hot dog diplomacy still on with Iran

Oh and something the trial lawyers better figure on if ObamaCare pases — link. When the hospitals are government owned malpractice will be a thing of the past and John Edwards would be a pauper today under those circumstances.

The faultlines that would errupt under the so-called “Obamacare” are enormous.

People just don’t understand the ramifications to their own medical care should Obama be able to put the govt in charge of everyone’s medical services. And, his response that his care would be “optional” is bullc**p, as his free and cheap services (paid for by the taxpayer) would squeeze out independent insurance companies, leaving the public with only one viable health provider — the government.

It is such a scam, one that if put in place will be like a weed hard to ever pull out!

This is the only good news of the morning! H/T Drudge

New All-Time Lows for Both CBS & ABC Evening Newscasts
Breaking: TVNewser has learned the CBS Evening News has once again set an all-time low last week with 4.89 million Total Viewers and 1.42 million A25-54 viewers. But it was also the lowest (since records began in the 1991-’92 season) for ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson. The Gibson program drew 6.42 million Total Viewers and 1.77 million A25-54 viewers.

    I wonder why?

The Mouse that Roared —> that’s Obama!

Today The One is supposed to come out with full-throated support of the Iranian people (a little late, don’t you think!). Like a red carpet presenting Obama’s grandstanding, the Washington Post Link comes out with an article saying it was Obama’s grand Cairo Speech which inspired the Iranian people to revolt!

My fingers are literally spitting out the words as I type!

    No need to worry.

Obamer has a press conference scheduled in about an hour from now–his first since, well, yesterday. That’s ok too, because the one before that was as far back as, um, the day before yesterday.

So let me get this straight. Obammy is going to claim that the Cairo speech was the catalyst, but yet he dithers in support when a ME populace takes him up on his ‘Hope n Change’. That’s worse that what Bush did. NO not that Bush, the other Bush and the shaft we gave the Kurds after GWI

Obama missed an opportunity to really, really propel the middle east into the modern age of democracy

    We are left wondering why.

There are a numkber of reasons, take your pick:
    1. He lacks personal courage
2.Freedom isn’t an important issue for the left
    3. He has concerns about how taking on the “Supreme Leader” would affect his personal standing with Muslims
    4. It might cut into golf time
    5. It doesn’t have strong support within the Democratic Party

Please feel free to add on.

One of the interesting (yet disappointing) trends is that Europe, in general, seems to be becoming more conservative while we are lurching to the left (at full speed). The differences in reaction to Islamic women’s dress is very telling.

I think #3 on your list of reasons is probably the most significant of all 5 noted.

In adding one more, however, I think Obama lacks confidence in dealing with international issues versus domestic ones. It all goes back to the bulk of his previous experience in life, which was being a community organizer. This job dealt with the community, not the world at large.

So, in a way, Obama projects himself onto the world as if he were trying to organize it to “behave.”

Basically, Obama has no competence in worldly matters, and it stikingly shows itself during crises such as the invasion of Georgia, during the Presidential campaign, and now during the Iranian protests.

I just got this from a friend of mine.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars.

As you may already know, it is a sin for a Muslim male to see any
woman other than his wife naked . He must commit suicide if he does.
So next Saturday at 4 PM Eastern Time, all American women are asked to
walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any
neighborhood terrorists. Circling your block for one hour is
recommended for this anti-radical Islam effort.

All patriotic men are to position themselves in lawn chairs in front
of their house to prove they are not Muslims, & to demonstrate they
think it’s okay to see nude women other than their wife, & to show
support for all American women. Since Islam also does not approve of
alcohol, a cold 6-pack at your side is further proof of your
anti-Muslim sentiment. The American gov’t appreciates your efforts to
root out terrorists & applauds your participation in this
    anti-terrorist activity.

    God bless America !

I have been referring people to Andrew Sullivan fot information on Iran. Despite his idiotic analysis, it is the best place to get tweets, videos and other feeds. But the man’s head is still up Obama’s butt and I absolutely love this takedown of him:

Through the Looking Glass With Andrew Sullivan

Unlike the rest of these non-experts, many of whom began to back off of the story when word emerged that Mrs. Palin’s daughter was pregnant and had been close to the time of Trig’s birth, Sullivan, who apparently received a secret medical degree while attending Harvard, began obsessively following this story, turning the Atlantic from a fairly uninteresting opinion website into a leading journal of gynecology and obstetrics. Rarely in human history has a gay man been that obsessed with a married woman’s vagina.

    7. Being from a Muslim background (He is still a Muslim to Muslim’s), he does not value freedom as we do in the United States, and probably does revere the Mullah’s.
