Is Obama Losing His Magic Touch?

In reviewing recent Rasmussen Polls, there are more and more signs that Barack Obama is losing his “magic touch” with the American Public.

Here are some highlights that hopefully Brandon will probe in greater depth:

  • Obama’s popularity increased to +1 from yesterday, when it was Zero (pun intended). The trend is down.
  • 31% of Americans believe the Stimulus Plan has helped the economy; 30% say it has made it worse (not very good for a $787 billion investment)
  • 37% say the country is headed in the right direction, another number that is declining
  • 76% say the government is likely to waste stimulus money (the other 24% are brain dead)
  • More voters see their taxes increasing under Obama

Do you think He is losing His “magic touch?” Is the spell being broken?

Don’t these fools realize I am trying to stop smoking? All this negative stuff doesn’t help.

I no longer worry about saving a nation that is finished. At this point I have reached a stage of clinical detachment, fascinated with the question of just how remarkably stupid the herds of bovine American people have become and what level of outrage has to be reached for them to wake up.

    I’m not holding my breath.

Perhaps it is a blessing to be that stupid, to be living in the last days and to not even realize it, just as the dinosaurs stared placidly at the approaching bright light in the sky.

Once amnesty and socialized medicine have been passed along with cap-and-trade to complete the trifecta and consolidate state control over every aspect of individual life, expect the open and obvious move to tyranny to begin.

Nothing will be off limits–Bill of Rights, habeas corpus, presidential term limits.

If you don’t believe it you simply have no idea what kind of extreme radical the marxist is.

PG- the same guy who said Obama was god also said they were the good guys in 1984. What scares the snot out of us, is what they think is the very best thing they could do for us. Sadly, people in this country have been conditioned to believe that it is the job of gov’t to take care of them, that they will happily allow control over their lives.

I too don’t hold much hope for the American people. They have been dumbed down. They are idiots.

phineas, there’s a lot pain still to be had before we get to the endgame. Americans will suffer & adjust, and way too many will welcome being lied to by the media. It will take a major event to actually shake Americans wide awake…I pray that the “major event” doesn’t take too many lives.

The weakening of America is going full steam ahead, and even if our enemies don’t take advantage of it, we will be at the mercy of too many other factors. When those factors start to kick in…THEN we will be at the “endgame”. Hopefully a few States will band together and provide a rallying point for a seperation.

It’s important to remember that there are things that can be undone (e.g. cap and trade) and thing that cannot be undone (comprehensive immigration reform and ObamaCare).

I don’t get too excited about Cap and Trade because when voters start seeing how it affects their pocket books, I think it may be the final nail in the coffin.

The key is to try to recruit conservatives to seek office in 2010 and defeat RINOs in the primaries. I agree that in most cases (Olympia Snowe being an exception) RINOs are preferable to Democrats. I just don’t want to see RNC money going to RINOs, but I know it will (which is why I send any political contributions to other places. In fact, most of it ends up in one place).

cap and trade can’t really be undone after the bureaucracy it creates gets going in my view, but certainly immigration and Obamacare are even more clear turning points with no off ramps.

“when voters start seeing how it affects their pocket books”

Like they did with the great society right? You are far more optimistic than I.

The public did turn against the Great Society with the Contract with America. Remember welfare reform? Anyway, I sent you a link regarding computers I am looking to buy. When you have a minute take a look. Thanks.

I hope what happened in Argentina is what will happen here in the US, come 2010 —> sweet!

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) – Argentina’s first couple suffered a stunning setback in an election seen as a referendum on their political dynasty, losing control of both houses of Congress.

The loss weakened President Cristina Fernandez’s government two years before she leaves office by diminishing her ability to push legislation through Congress and damaging the reputation of her Peronist party as it seeks direction ahead of 2011’s presidential race.

Bad news for Obomba is good news for the country – even if we are in a downward spiral.

I’ll take it – may his bad news continue!!!

This is the 21st century where the pace of change is accelerating at a breathtaking rate. I submit that it is impossible to predict where we will be in one year, much less 5 or 10. Agreed, that the direction looks awful now, but whither go we from here? Predictions in mid 2009 won’t be worth warm spit a few months from now. Case in point: after dust had settled from 2006 midterm elections, who would have predicted your next president would be a black, muslim-named, wholly inexperienced, corrupt Chicago machine pol. Do not underestimate that there are tens of millions who fear and loathe this man and all he stands for. The same antipathy was true from the other side regarding Bush, and oh-so-quickly resulted in a socialist coup, but it was based mostly on unthinking, knee-jerk emotionalism. Could not our course be reversed with the right strategy, arguments, leaders and citizen involvement? Maybe not…but maybe so.

What about the SCOTUS decision overturning Sotomayer’s ruling against white firefighters? The unreliable Justice Kennedy gets it right on this one and there is some hope in the fact that the block of Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas appears healthy and willing to continue, hopefully through 2 Obama terms if needed.

for today, at least, the forces seeking to perpetuate a color-FOCUSED society lost out. Racism, Sotomayer-style isn’t dead…it’s just gonna have to work a little harder to deny people thjeir rights based on their color!

Sen. Leahy is moaning about a decision that sided with QUALIFIED applicants (regardless of color):

This is a cramped decision that threatens to erode these protections and to harm the efforts of state and local governments that want to build the most qualified workforces

honest to God, how these morons say crap like this with a straight face??

The libs are up in arms over this one. I was driving my mom to the Missoula airport and one the way back I heard this on CBS radio:

“The SC ruled in favor of a white person who scored well on a test.”

By building walls, ignoring laws and generally acting like a thug, Obama is doing his best to create class warfare and subvert the Constitution.

If this country survives Obama, it can survive anything.
