There seems to be a noticeable loss of legislative momentum today.

A lot of things coming together: Teague has gotten an earful from NM on his cap and tax vote, Nye’s hypocrisy was shown up, Byrd is rebelling, Obama’s numbers are tanking.

Some of these guys are getting nervous.

I would pop some champagne if both the energy and health care bills died. Obammy can’t get his legislative agenda thru. If the Congress Critters don’t have the guts to pass it now, they will have even less visceral fortitude once the electorate get hold of them at recess. Their last gasp is the Aug-Sept period. After that they are toast. Nor will the Congress take it back up in January. Elections coming up, don’t want those anchors around their necks.

The following must be defeated if America is to remain a free, constitutional republic:

1 Socialist health care
2 Amnesty
3 Cap and trade.

If all those are defeated, we move to the second round:

4 Card check
5 Fairness Doctrine
6 Gun control

In addition to the ongoing struggle for personal property rights.

Any one of these is a fatal wound to our liberty, so we have a long way to go. To say nothing of the fact that some in the R party want these same things.
