Government Waste Continues at Record Pace; No Laughing Matter
The Social Security Administration invested more than $700,000 on a seminar for employees at one of the top resorts in Arizona and now the Treasury Department has issued a Request for Proposal for seminars on “the power of humor.” Apparently the Treasury realizes it has become a joke. Why not just bring Hank Paulson back to conduct them?
This is waste we know about. Think about what we don’t.
But, don’t worry: only private sector employees lose jobs and have their benefits trimmed; not federal employees.
What’s next? Michelle decides she wants a date in SanFrancisco at $500,000?

Bring in the clowns. The circus must be in town.
Hat tips: Drudge Report, ABC15 and the Department of the Treasury.

Any word on what it costs us taxpayers for the girly throw?

Idiots running the asylum…
[3]
Oops. Inmates, heh… talking on phone, working on computer, can’t do 3 things at once… me jackass…
[4]
Either works.
I heard Obama was campaigning for Corzine today. Anybody see any of it?
[5]
I’d read about the SSA seminar. Seminars on humor? This makes me so angry I could spit.
I just cannot believe it. I hardly know what to say.
[6]
If they want humor they should just read “Alice in Wonderland”. Only problem is that they would probably think it was a real life drama about the Obama Administartion and not understand it at all.

This makes me so angry I could spit.

Well, get your skoal out, (lol) because girl, there’s gonna be an awful lot more of this…
[9]
The administration ought to give a seminar on communism. I’d be they would get takers from all over the world. Hey, I bet Obama could even rent out the Lincoln bedroom.

Welcome to BJG.

I live & work in the “Belly of the Beast” (aka: SF area), which is like living in Jim Jones’ commune. Questioning: “what exactly is IN the Kool-Aid??” just isn’t done here!
Please tell me that other areas of this country are waking up?
Because HERE, they are enjoying the breeze generated by the bus going faster because it drove off the cliff!!!
Texas? Lookin’ better!

Rand. We should all sell and buy land in Tx, or maybe OK, and build on it, all parcels bordering or near each other. Then, we could raise our own food and be self sufficient should things get A LOT WORSE, which I am afraid they will.
I tell my family this: We should all just buy one parcel and build separate homes on it, and prepare to work it as a farm if things came to that. They just laugh at me.
I am afraid it WILL come to that, and I am not doing all I can to prepare.
I still have my job. I guess when that goes, we can sell and move to the country. Because brother, there ain’t any new jobs to go out and get. NONE.
[13]
Of course, Obama’s revolutionairies could “requisition all land” in the name of the people, a la Zimbabwe, and we’d all end up at the bottom of a ditch anyway.
I can tell you this. I’ll take more than a few of them with me….
[14]
Well JR, just look at the polls. Zero’s favorables are under 50% in Ohio.
Perhaps the SF area should be a country onto itself.

rwy & bc3b…I watched “Panic in Year Zero” the other night. It’s an atomic-bomb scare movie from the 60’s. Ray Milland…et al.
If you haven’t seen it, you should. Not particularly well done, and the music is AWFUL!
But Ray Milland’s attitude is mine…and yours. At one point he does something pretty, uh, dramatic in order to ensure his family’s safety. His wife SCREAMS at him…claiming she “doesn’t know him”. His response has stuck with me thru the years:
“MY FAMILY will survive!”
My family WILL survive! As will will yours. The day may come when we help each other, and those like us, to survive! That’s truly one of the reasons Justmary and I created this website.
My darling daughter and her splendid family KNOW that I would die to protect them. They also know that there would be a VERY big heap of bad folks at my feet first!
[16]
Hmmmm, Ray Milland…
My favorite Ray Milland film remains the 1963 Roger Corman flick ‘The Man With The X-Ray Eyes’.
Creepy and disturbing to this day.
[17]
phineas gage, if you haven’t seen “Panic in Year Zero”…do so!
Trust me.
[18]
justrand – “panic in the year zero” is a classic. Saw that movie many years ago (back in the early 1970’s). Friend has a DVD of it. Pretty realistic in what one has to do to survive.
Times like now, it is critical to get to know like minded people in your community, your family, your friends and co-workers. It is critical to have plans on what to do.

Chickens, rabbits and tomatoes/beans. Unless you can hunt squirrel….

SS administration should just hire Joe Biden if they want humor on the spot.
