Kos Blasts FReepers for Attacks on Obama Girls
You won’t normally see me posting links to the Daily Kos, but today is an exception. Apparently FreeRepublic poster(s) made some rather unfavorable comments about the Obama girls and a Kos poster claims David Schuster will feature it on Monday.
Here’s the story behind this battle compliments of Noel Sheppard at newsbusters.org.
I cannot believe I am saying this, but please read the link. You’ll notice:
- The poster, LaurenMonica, is badly in need of remedial English reading and writing classes (hopefully at a Catholic school, where she might actually be able to make progress). It is really a struggle for this woman to put a simple sentence together. Where do you start: spelling, punctuation, tense, grammar, agreement? Reading her post is an absolute chore.
- When you get into the supposed content, she is complaining because Sarah Palin, Michael Steele and the rest of the country’s conservatives are not riding to the rescue (just as Obama and the Democrats rose up when the Palin children were attacked/sarc.).
- For someone who apparently likes to play in a septic tank (the Daily Kos), Ms. Monica seems to have a real problem when encrement starts heading in her direction.
- This post is hardly unique. Just for laughs, click on any of LaurenMonica’s other works at Kos.
“Coming from Drugde, I would take it easy since Drugde isn’t what I will consider as journalist or newsmaker, he’s more a tabloid idiot. But I have a huge problem when a so-called white house correspond reports silly insinuations on the President of The US.”
“Now the Right Wingnuts have a new Obama conspiration”
“After what his father made endure the Iranian people while in power, he is the last person who should give his input on this.”
“According to him, ‘Obama Apology Tour’ and approach don’t work, he needs to be take a more hard line against the Iran’s Regime. ”
“I’m usually against violence but after watching Ahmadinejad’s press conference, I came to the conclusion that the guy is crazy and needs to be stop.”
“Now it seems like ‘On the other hand’ expression bothers the GOP talking heads. They are all saying that by using that expression the president made ‘equal’ Holocaust and Palestinans struggle when he was presenting the facts.” ????????
“A so-called Pro-Life activist took, cowardly, the life of doctor George Tiller, this sunday, while he was attending to a church service.”
Yes, the human mind is a terrible thing to waste.
My points:
- I actually agree with what Ms. Monica is saying (or at least what I believe she is feebly trying to say) in that candidates’ children should be off limits unless they commit a criminal act. I doubt Ms. Monica felt that way before Obama’s daughters were criticized. As BJG readers know, I do not believe this applies to Michelle Obama . She has made herself fair game.
- Be careful what you write and stay away from the Obama girls. MSM will try to destroy anyone who attacks their hero.
- While I readily acknowledge that David Axelrod is a genius, the rank-and-file of the far left are hardly America’s “brightest and best.” I am sure Ms. Monica still believes Obama is going to cut her taxes while delivering free beer and pizza every day. He just hasn’t gotten around to it yet. She probably will continue to believe this when her taxes rise 200% (assuming she pays taxes). But, this ”mentality”will not be moved by facts and logic.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out with indignation from the left; indignation that never exists when the Palin kids are smeared.

I read her post on Kos earlier. Sometimes I go there just to see how nuts some people are.
[2]
Brandon -
This woman is at best “semi-literate.” She makes our Ms. Texas look rational.
Has our public education system deteriorated that much?

I am a product of the public school system and I have turned out fine.

Has our public education system deteriorated that much? — BC
Well no, and yes. There are 3 classes of students — those who get no matter what, those that get it with some serious coaching, those that never will. The poster was in that third category. But teachers are hampered enough they have trouble even helping that middle category.
BC, in the post you said this — “As BJG readers know, I do not believe this applies to Michelle Obama . She has made herself fair game.” Mind expanding on that? Out of my feeble recesses I don’t recollect anything extraordinary she has done. (That might be an incitement in itself….)
[5]
Looking at my last post I need to retake remedial typing again….
[6]
Uh she has said these gems:
“And let me tell you something — for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.”
“We’re a country that is “just downright mean,”
[7]
Michelle Obama is indeed “fair game”. And Brandon nailed the reason. The Obama girls are NOT “fair game”. 10 years from now if they elect to go overseas and bash America (if it stills exists) then maybe. But they are at the moment merely the children of famous people. They deserve to be left alone.
I get VERY upset when people harm children in any way.
When I saw the Obama Children’s Choir singing “Obama’s Gonna Save Us” in that vile video that made the rounds in the last election, I got upset at the PARENTS of those innocent children. Those children were being unwittingly indoctrinated into the “Obama Youth”, and the creepiness of it remains with me.
But Obama’s kids are kids…they are off limits. If the Freepers crossed that line then F**K ‘EM.
[8]
p.s. having HuffPo of Kos or DemUnderground CALL the Freepers on crossing the line (if they did) is like having Al Capone perform a citizen’s arrest on someone for stealing a candy bar!
[9]
Brandon, given. But I don’t know if that rises to the realm of she is now attackable. Since the post war period, many spouses have gone on the stump for the candidate-spouse. Even said some stupid things during the election. Post election that did not make them ‘fair-game’.
Example, Ms. Clinton only became fair game once she started into policy for her husband, ie her health care task force.
[10]
drdog, Michelle Obama gave political speeches all by herself. The famous “finally proud of my country” comment was a solo outing at UCLA.
When spouses give introduction speeches for their spouses, or stay “resonably bland” in their remarks I am inclined to give them a pass. But since they are NOT on the ticket, I refuse to allow them to give policy speeches, and ATTACK speeches, without being able to answer them back.
Michelle Obama did both!
[11]
O/T, but what the heck…
Eric Holder, our “beloved” Attorney General, is once again talking about “Torture Investigations”. If you take a graph Obama approval ratings over time and overlay it with a graph of Holder’s pronouncements on this over time they would match perfectly!
Obama in trouble?? Holder’s “considering” torture investigations!
In this case they also seek to provide cover for Nancy Pelosi’s bulbous ass, as well as the dismal “stimulus”, so with so much cover to be provided they will most likely gin up a “Michael Jackson Funeral” style hoopla around the “torture investigations”.
The chilling effect on all of our intelligence agencies will be immense, of course, and the damage to our country equally immense. But so what…eh?
[12]
It will be interesting to see how this plays out with indignation from the left; indignation that never exists when the Palin kids are smeared.
NOW came out against Letterman.
[13]
NOW eventually came out against Letterman…but couldn’t bring themselves to simply condemn Letterman without digging back 16 YEARS to find moral equivalence in an off-hand remark by Rush Limbaugh that he immediately apologized for.
I found their grasping for “moral equivalance” to be pathetic…but for them this was a HUGE step back towards decency, so we must accept it I suppose.
[14]
Yes, Palin has been attacked more visciously than any politician in American history. We know. Can we move on.
[15]
actually HAVE moved on…be nice if you could (though your admission that “Yes, Palin has been attacked more visciously than any politician in American history” was refreshing!
)
[16]
the cesspool that IS the DailyKos has no business criticizing anyone EVER regarding decency or appropriateness of commentary.
For DailyKos to attempt to do so is pathetic! (my word for the day!)
[17]
justrand -
“p.s. having HuffPo of Kos or DemUnderground CALL the Freepers on crossing the line (if they did) is like having Al Capone perform a citizen’s arrest on someone for stealing a candy bar!”
Great one JR
[18]
chekote –
“Yes, Palin has been attacked more visciously than any politician in
American history. We know. Can we move on.”
I didn’t realize this thread was primarily about Sarah Palin. Oh, I almost forgot; everything is about Sarah Palin.
Maybe LorenMonica doesn’t make Chekote look so sane after all. Sorry Cheky. I tried to make you look good.
Catch you after mass.
[19]
JR,
Ok, then this qualifies too. Laura Bush is on the stump, attempting to influence a TV audience and Mr. Bush is no where in sight at the time of the speech.
Not trying to cause an argument. But my point is advocacy is not policy.
[20]
BC
You mentioned the attacks on Palin’s kids in your thread. Have fun at mass.
[21]
Attacking kids is just what we’ve come to expect on the internet. Even HotAir got into the act after Drudge posted the pic of Obama ogling that young girl. Some of the posters there were commenting on what they would do to her even after they were repeatedly reminded that she was only 16.
Michelle Obama sat at the feet of Jeremiah Wright for a number of years listening to him trash America and white people and did nothing to stop it. Even if she never agreed to what was being said (doubtful), her mere presence there paints a bulls-eye on her back. (Please, I don’t want to hear that Wright’t “church” was the only game in town–if you didn’t attend, your political career was dead)
[22]
Obama’s kids are precious
The ONLY pleasure I got at all from seeing Captain Fluffy Bunny get elected was seeing how happy his girls were and their joy at exploring their new home, the White House
Kids should always be off limits…
[23]
Laura Bush was at the Repub. National Convention, giving the traditional I support my husband speech. She broke no new ground, and was there to show unity. Find me a solo speech Laura gave where she introduced new policy or extended the policy positions of her husband and I’ll agree. I read Laura’s entire speech and found none of the venom that Michelle unleashed in some of HER solo speeches.
from seperate SOLO speeches by Michelle (there are many more):
“Life for regular folks has gotten worse over the course of my lifetime…”
-and-
“America is just downright mean and guided by fear . . . We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day.”
-and-
“Barack Obama will require you to work.”
-and-
“for the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.”
-and-
“I am so tired of fear. And I don’t want my girls to live in a country, in a world, based on fear.”
But then again, she sometimes said horrible things while Barak had his arm around her:
p.s. in the quote just above the video she said she was tired of “living in fear”…then tried to make every Black person fearful!
[24]
Again I go right back to ‘its advocacy not policy.’ Show me L. Bush or M. Obama heading up a task force and I will agree. Ms. Obama can bray to the moon, but until she starts a fund raising drive for NASA to pull it closer to the earth, its all noise. Guess will just have to stand here and disagree.
[25]
Kids should absolutely be off limits. BUT if you make them within limits or off limits that same rule needs to apply across the board. To pick the Palin children apart while wrapping the Obama children in bubble wrap is just wrong.
[26]
drdog we can agree to disagree. Laura Bush, I believe, stayed almost TOO MUCH in the background. Michelle is, I believe, forcing herself into the foreground.
But you’re right, this isn’t like Hillary ginning up her own Health Commission!
[27]
JM
Of course
It has to be universal
[28]
I am a product of the public school system and I have turned out fine.
heh.
[29]
chekote could you please learn to spell “vicious”. Thanks. You don’t help your cause by constantly misspelling a simple common word.
