REAL Truth to Power!

HatTip HotAir and FoxNews

This young soldier describes very calmly and precisely the REASON that McCaskill owes him an apology: Article 1 Section 8 of the United States Constitution.

Chief Justice Marshall in McCulloch v. Maryland described a government of enumerated powers:

This government is acknowledged by all, to be one of enumerated powers. The principle, that it can exercise only the powers granted to it, would seem too apparent, to have required to be enforced by all those arguments, which its enlightened friends, while it was depending before the people, found it necessary to urge; that principle is now universally admitted.

This young soldier would make Marshall proud!

Much more effective than the soldiers refusing to serve because they believe that Obama was born in Kenya. We need informed, thinking patriots like this soldiers. The last thing we need is paranoid cospirancy theories.

chekote: “The last thing we need is paranoid cospirancy theories.”

I don’t want to turn this thread into a discussion about Obama’s birthplace. So one comment on this…period. OK?

The ONLY reason I am against pursuing the truth about Obama’s REAL birth certificate is that it does us no good no matter WHAT it says! It may declare him a “Muslim”, it may have a different date, or place, or parents…it DOESN’T MATTER.

BUT that does NOT make the topic “paranoid conspiracy theories”, any more than talk of Alger Hiss being a spy was “paranoid conspiracy theories”. The Left painted the Alger Hiss topic like that for decades!! Of course it turns out Alger Hiss WAS AN EFF’ING SPY FOR MOTHER RUSSIA!!

So I prefer to leave the topic of Obama’s birth alone ONLY because we can’t win with it. There are so many easy targets that this Marxist ass-wipe is giving us, why choose that one?

    So…back on topic…ok?

The reason I like the line of attack by the soldier is because it will expose the utter ignorance of most of our elected officials. Most of them probably never red the Constitution. They certainly never thought about what it meant. The other line of attack that I like is asking our elected officials whether they red the bills they approved. If we can expose their ignorance, incompetence, unprofessionalism, it will be a great day indeed.

A young man like that is so impressive. It pushes back doubt about the youth of this coutry!

My husband, who is an ex-navy guy, is VERY patriotic. When I had him listen in to this clip, he smiled and said he had “chills” hearing the soldier’s words. He went on to say this should be happening all over the country.

A speech like that changes the progressive dial back to where the backbone of this country really is.

I am trying not to open up the “birthers” controversy. But, why is the media all of a sudden so intensely focusing on this issue when they all but ignored it before?

Is the MSM just attempting to take the public’s gaze away from Obama’s gaffe’s and failures, and instead throwing it on an old story generated by people they snidely insinuate are hallucinating fanatics?

Regarding lines of attack, it is time to demonize the democratic party. It is old news to make Pelosi and Reid the targets. We need a fresh face.

I suggest Henry Waxman’s mug as the face of the democratic party, and what a face it is. He has been largely under the radar, and it is time to put the old communist front and center.

The blue dogs are running from him, and the general electorate is likely to as well.

Waxman is in the limelight now because of his prominence in mandating what is to be in the health bill. So, he would be a good temporary target.

But, Pelosi has such low approval ratings, is always in the news pushing unhealthy legislation, that she remains the perennial “face” of the democratic party — in my POV.

    Current stats on Pelosi:

    H/T Rasmussen

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of U.S. voters have an unfavorable view of the Democratic congresswoman from San Francisco, and 35% view her favorably. But those who have a very unfavorable opinion of Pelosi overwhelm those who regard her very favorably – by a five-to-one margin – 45% to nine percent (9%).

The “secret six” who are trying to formulate a health care plan that can be passed in the Senate before the summer recess continues to be troubling. On the republican side it appears that only one Senator seems to stand between it passing or not — Mike Enzi.

To the contrary, Grassley and Snowe have repeatedly asserted their desire to cut a deal. But Enzi, a low-key certified public accountant with a solid conservative voting record, rarely speaks in public about his role. Senior Democrats say they are most skeptical about his commitment to the finance panel’s bill.

As much as anything, the media got involved because of the controversy over Lou Dobbs. Dobbs is not a “Birther,” but simply has stated that Omaba could easily clear up the controversy by showing the long form of his birth certificate.

I agree that it’s dumb to bring up. There are so many legimate things on which Obama can be attacked ….

I only have time for one post this morning.

Rememeber the scene at the end of Nerds when all the nerds realize they are indeed nerds and then everybody else realizes that they themselves are also nerds? The scene then turns into a nerd orgy.

Well, instead of being a nerd (I might be that, too) I just realized I’m a Birther. That’s right, I’ve come fully out of the closet. I want to see all of it, including his birth certificate, his college entrance documents, his papers from Harvard, etc.

At first I was apalled at being called such a derogatory name: Birther. I was especially ashamed to be called that name by people who call themselves Conservative. That all changed last night after I read a post on HotAir. The commenter aksed (paraphrasing), “You’ve been called everything from a racist to a homophobe to a Nazi, and have been able to brush those names off, but being called a Birther is too much?” I am no longer ashamed.

Some of us are still Constitutionalists, myself being one of them, and under the Constitution, the people of this country have the right to demand to see this document, no matter the consequences.

Imagine if a Republican tried to pull this off.

That’s what I feel too JM, that they are preempting health care talk now with sensational “birther” talk!

I also agree with Tony and JM about the birthers. I think it is more incumbent upon Obama to prove his birth than for the birthers to disprove it.

Some people say it is just a leftist tactic to always keep your foes off balance by not answering their questions, and instead projecting all kinds of allegations and craziness on them. It creates disruption of the process and chaos, all at the same time, giving leftists a porthole to put something they want through while everyone is fighting.

Also, as a sidenote, when you are going for your pastport the govt. will not accept the short birth certificate form to get it. You have to have the long form. Interesting, isn’t it, that Obama is so above it all!

Exactly. When I got my passport I had to all but give a blood sample and relinquish rights to my firstborn…..and that was just to go on a cruise! I wasn’t running for office. I actually tried the short form for one of my kids and they said NO, but how did I get that short form in the first place? Grandma went to the courthouse when my daughter was a baby to try and get the certificate and they would not release it to her, they gave her a short form just for informational purposes. I had to go down to the valley and wait in line for all of 10 minutes to get the real one, complete with seal. Obama could do the same thing if he wanted. They do not destroy them, they scan old ones in before they go paperless.

Anyhow, what the short form tells me is that he sent someone else to get the certificate and they met the same fate as Grandma did in my story. I know he has been to HI since he was elected. Why not make a trip to the courthouse? Also, his sister who was in fact born in Indonesia also has a COLB from HI. Just sayin. Then I will leave this alone (mostly).

I have actually enjoyed the first 30 min or so of Sean’s show recently. Perhaps I am just desparate. And every once in a while there is a jewel on the GAP (like Lou Holtz) that just blows the beltway types away.

the reason the “birther” thing is coming up now almost continuously in the media is simple: it SOUNDS crazy! It could (and may be) 100% true that Obama is NOT a citizen…but it SOUNDS crazy.

Back to my Alger Hiss analogy…the Left CONTINUES to claim Hiss was innocent. When the Soviet Union collapsed a lot of their stuff was de-classified. In THEIR papers they describe in detail what he did for them! They PROUDLY proclaim him as their guy!! And STILL the Left controlled media has only come around to “evidence SUGGESTS that there MAY be more to the Alger Hiss story”.

The Strawman on this is that somehow his mother would have had to KNOW that he would be President, if only she could fake his birth certificate, in order to actually fake it. Bullshit of course, since the reality is any reasonably sane person would KNOW that American citizen is a valuable thing to have!!

btw…the media is starting to try and shape the ObamaCare “debate” the same way! Yesterday they unleashed all their outlets (TV, print, Internet) on the SAME THEME: “Of course we’re not gonna euthanize Grandma”. The Strawman being that Conservatives are claiming the ObamaCare Bill calls for that.

Thought-provoking article by Dick Morris pointing to the “elderly” as being Obama’s major health care bill nemesis, having significant political implications.

….for a population that now gets its health services through government-run Medicare, they would rather be in a privately run system than one managed by the government, by 67-7.

Fears of rationing and the denial of care are stoking opposition to a fever pitch among the elderly. So widespread is the dissatisfaction with the Obama plan that it may drive the elderly into Republican ranks as surely as Bush’s Social Security reforms alienated then in 2005 and drove them into the arms of Democrats.

At least Waxman’s Bill is not going to be voted on until the Fall, by the full House, giving folks a chance to bombard their representatives with what the people really think about their proposed health care bill!

We are still losing freedom, just slightly slower. A public and a private option will be, in the end, the same thing – a public option. We will eventually lose doctors to other professions and we will end up with rationing. And, $100 million in savings is pi$$ing in the ocean.

It is still a loss, and Rahm will be grinning ear to ear.
