Of course not. The Dems will pass it and carbon caps and amnesty, in the teeth of 70% opposition, and worry about being re-elected later.

What Dem has said he would oppose? None that I know of.

my prediction? the SEIU goons will knock some elderly person down and either kill them or serisouly injure them. Then Obama will give one of his “healing speeches” to seize the “teaching moment” and denounce…the elderly person!

…the next gale that sweeps from the North will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms…

I quake — NOT. If the teaching moment is going to be anything like the Beer Garten Summit of a week ago I laugh my a@# silly at the thought.

We are barely at the 1/3rd way mark of the month. The Dim Reps two weeks ago assumed that if they had a ‘speaking plan’ they could steam roll the folks at the town halls about HC. That didn’t work. So they tried some verbal intimidation. That has not been successful either. Now they are trying to pack the halls with SEIU people. That’s really not working either and the Gladney event may backfire against them. The seniors are turning out against HC in huge margins, so the Dims have to be wondering at this point whether pushing it further is worth it too them.

A slight margin that it does not pass.

I agree with Yahoo completely. Blue Dogs are more afraid of Pelosi than the voters.

Yeah, I say it passes….even so it is important to keep the pressure on loud and clear. Once it is passed their will be a bill. Then everyone will see what liars the Dems are. Maybe that is best because then conservatives can run against it to stop it from ever going into effect.

In the meantime the Dems wont be able to resist pushing Cap and Trade, Amnesty, Card Check, Fairness Doctrine, second stimulus, gays in the military……it’s going to get interesting between now and November 2010.

Remember Jim DeMint’s favorite old song, “Waterloo, Waterloo, when will they meet their Waterloo?”

No possible way to stop it. Obama’s Pelosi’s Emanuel’s personal signature leftist legislation.

Control of life and death. The Holy Grail of the left.

    100% guaranteed it passes.

The Dems’ nature is they decide, NOT THE PEOPLE. They will allow you to speak your mind, and provided you meekly submit they will not beat your ass.

In the end, they have the votes, they sit in the seats. Guaranteed pass, then the cash bribes start, the handouts, the subsudies, to the various groups that got screwed, to try to buy back the votes.

meanwhile the Rs sit by like wax figures, silent and still.

The outcome is not even in doubt. The only think we can do is disobey. It is our duty to disobey these illegal laws, as an old friend and patriot from Polipundit put it.

When MFG had his contest one of his questions was this very one. I said then that it won’t pass, but later, with a caveat, that it was possible a diluted version of health care might make it across the congressional margins.

As the summer goes on, though, and the “people” resistance grows steadier and stronger, I think the dims will be putting their eyes more on reelection, and what that will take. If passing the health care bill for Obama proves to be too costly I think they will have a political revelation and suddenly see the light of survival, backpedaling on health care passing this year!

    Janzam,

My take is that if the Seniors block keeps being vocal, and it becomes apparent that the Dims will lose the Seniors block forever the Dims may think better of the outcome politically. The Dims are a tent of coalitions unlike the Reps. They lose the Seniors and 2/3rds of the Indps they know their political goose is cooked.

So far there has not been a single town hall favoring the HC. Like I have been saying the last week, the WH is acting like a Chicago machine and stupidly if I may quote ‘O’ and it ain’t selling in Peoria, or anywhere else for that matter. I believe it is defeated narrowly.

Dr. Dog has nailed it, IMO. It’s not even selling in Dem districts.

SOMETHING will pass…and it will be the camel’s nose under tent. After the 2010 the elections the entire camel will be inside, stinking the place up.

BUT, the Seniors do appear to be waking up. They’re very much into fairness, and when they stand in line for HOURS, and then watch VERY healthy people walk in huge numbers into the “Disabled ONLY” door they tend to get outraged! They’ve also gotten to the point in life where they don’t much like change…especially change that is rapid and murky!

and btw, the children of those elderly folks don’t much like seeing their parents and grandparents pushed around by SEIU goons.

    trouble is coming…let it come

    It’s not selling.

But they will pass it anyway.

Did you see Dingel’s town hall? He endured 2 hours of screaming rage, and calmly told the interviewer look, I vote how I want, and the people have to get over it.

    It passes, easily.

drdog, as others have expressed it, you bring up some excellent points about the dims coalitions.

Without certain blocks of people in their corner they have a difficult time adding up numbers that fit in the winning column.
