Dems, Media Working Overtime to Discredit Town Hall Protesters
The DNC, Democratic Politicians and the White House staff are doing everything in their power to discredit Americans who are making their voices heard at town hall meetings throughout the country.
This ranges from the WH staff accusing Drudge Report and protesters of spreading false information, to Barbara Boxer stating the protesters are too well dressed to be genuine, to claims the protests appear to be “orchestrated” to efforts attempting to link the protesters to the “Birthers” movement.
By the way, if you catch anyone spreading false rumors about health care (anyone at BJG qualifies), be sure to report them to Mr. Flag at The White House.
newsbusters.org is all over this.

‘The DNC, Democratic Politicians and the White House staff’
Don’t forget the state-run media…
umm–never mind…
[2]
They’re trying to tell the Big Lie over and over.
The One is the one spreading false info–along with his administration & the Dems.
This is easily proved from cursory research on the web.
[3]
Joseph Goebbels oould be very proud of Charles Gibson.
[4]
They are also calling it mob rule. Thankfully, Michelle has a counter to mob rule, here.
[5]
just watched Barbara Boxer’s rant regarding how those protesting ObamaCare are “too well dressed”. she is arguably the stoooopidest human being in Congress…and there is VERY tough competition for that title!
did a quick tour around the Internet this morning. The strategy is very simple: do NOT debate and do NOT confront the issues. Simply attack the PEOPLE, and let the media spin the results.
I have less confidence every day that our Republic can survive…and less desire that it do so!
[6]
The guy in Wisconsin was wearing a Brooks Bros. yellow golf shirt (complete with designer ketchup stains).
[7]
Elections have consequences.
Vote in haste and repent at leisure.
[8]
I have less confidence every day that our Republic can survive…and less desire that it do so!
I understand the feeling.
[9]
pg: “repent at leisure”
people better hurry up the “repenting” part, ’cause the steamroller is coming our way.
[10]
But remember, the recession is over!!!
[11]
I just can’t get over the arrogance. These people are completely out of touch with reality. Too many cocktail parties. Oh no, I sound like BC. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
[12]
Democrat “response” on all issues, but especially this one: DEMONIZE someone or some group
Once they get in that mode it becomes their magic talisman to ward off all debate or discussion. They are there NOW.
Babs eff’ing Boxer in that repulsive clip also threw in a dose of victimization: her and poor alGore in Florida.
[13]
Is this the type “orchestrated” activity Charles Gibson was referring to? Includes interesting e-mail from the DNC.

[14]
chekote: “I just can’t get over the arrogance”
it IS stunning! and the fact that the “interviewers” of Boxser, et al, don’t stop them and say: “Regardless of where you THINK the arguments from the other side are coming from…what about responding to the ARGUMENTS??”
nope.
[15]
Chekote -
Just remember: only cocktail parties in the “Beltway” or east of the Hudson River count.
[16]
newsbusters.org is doing a great job of covering this media support of Obama.
[17]
We better start doing demonizing of our own. Fight fire with fire…
BTW, I’ve got some “Obama/socialism” stickers ready to go up, but I’m wondering where than can be legally/quasi-legally put up where people will see them. Or, is this a time for civil disobedience?
[18]
Chekote -
“I just can’t get over the arrogance. These people are completely out of touch with reality. Too many cocktail parties.”
I find it unbelievable that the networks are more interested in supporting Barack Obama and his far-left agenda than they are in competing against one another.
[19]
Remember how expensive our matching flag tee shirts were, Dad? $5 is really living in style, perhaps Babs was right.
[20]
mpthompson, according to someone on another site, they are popping up everywhere. BTW- the cops are looking for the guy who created this, I guess they have already dealt with Vanity Fair for their Bush joker, and the creators of the gun to Bush’s head buttons, tee shirts, and postage stamps- so they have time on their hands now to investigate this new artist.
[21]
BC
You obviously don’t get invited to as many cocktail parties as you would like. My dear friend, you suffer from Martini Envy Syndrome. MES for short. I do believe there is medication out there for it. Cheers!
[22]
As I’ve said so many times BJG readers are sick and tired of hearing it, “We must escalate the war with the media.” Health care may be the issue that does it.
[23]
mpthompson: “is this a time for civil disobedience?”
absolutely…in fact, time is running out!
Just don’t be “too well dressed”, while you’re being “disobedient”. SENATOR Barbara Boxer wants us barefoot, and clad only in loin-cloths!
[24]
Chekote -
Actually, I prefer beer parties with hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad (that’s potatoe salad for Dan Quayle) with people like Crowley and Biden. I’d love to see Biden drunk and can only imagine the secrets he’d spill.
[25]
mpthompson -
You’re really gonna enjoy re-education kamp in Detroit next January.
[26]
The media is just doing what mp was writing about yesterday — being good students of Alinsky:
I look at the tactics used by Obama and the media as either applying rule #5 (above), or reinacting their adolescent years, where notbing but blame, projection, and rationalization is applied by immature teens to their parents.
[27]
Rasmussen Daily Tracking Poll.
Zero is at -8. Overall, the majority disapprove again 49% approval/51% disapproval.

getting REALLY creepy (HatTip to wizbang for “exposing” me to this)

That is the real poster? YIKES

Time points readers to scholar who says health care opponents are racist, xenophopic:

[32]
yikes indeed, my dear. I don’t know if they were trying for the Ghosts of the Fatherland effect…but they certainly achieved it!
[33]
From a comment of mpt’s yesterday, in which he quoted Alinsky:
IMO, we’re hearing clamor and smelling a stink. They’re pulling out all the stops loudly in order to intimidate. They do have some power, but not the amount indicated by the noise or pushback they’re making–otherwise they wouldn’t be doing it.
[34]
eventually we will be racists, too, because the ‘reforms’ received will affect the ones who have lived with entitlement for generations…and so many of those proportionately tend to be black.
Odd, isn’t it, how similar entitlements are to the old master taking care of them from cradle to grave, or until they were sold.
Maybe that’s too ugly to say out loud…not my intent to offend.
[35]
INC –A good reminder post from mp’s excerpt, yesterday.
I agree that the more noise the dims make the more likely it is people will be jostled awake from their “unawareness.” And, when unawareness dissipates, it will be replaced by massive anger and resentment towards a govt. who is trying so hard to put one over on them.
Also, I like your new avatar!
[36]
beej — interesting historical point, and one that is applicable to the present.
[37]
Thanks, Jan.
From Hot Air:
“Stephen Gutowski has a channel dedicated to videos of town-hall protests here.”
He has nine up so far.
[38]
It’s hilarious watching there reactions to some of there own tactics being used against them, I’m positively entertained. There are pockets of ‘organizers’ in some of these but for the most part the people who show up, are people who want to show up and aren’t being paid etc…
Hey what exactly is there problem? Are they suddenly not fond of some community organizing?
This is just beautiful.
[39]
Also, via MM, The Hill reports on a letter Cornyn has written to Obama protesting the Snitch Squads.
Here’s the pdf.
[40]
Thanks, Jan. There is nothing new under the sun I guess…
I like INC’s new avatar, too.
[41]
It’s like there saying “Oh my gosh how dare you actually try and oppose us and organize against our organizing… you’re not allowed to do that, and if you do your’s are fake and our are real”.
It’s so funny and the constant string of strawmen out of the president is just hilarious, people are not buying it and ever time he get up there and starts BS’ing people he loses more and more people permanently.
[42]
KH, community organizing is only allowed if you have Leftist ideology you’re busy organizing.
No one is supposed to think for themselves or just show up on their own initiative!
[43]
Hey, beej, thanks. It’s an old rendition of Molly Pitcher.
[44]
KH, I’ve said it a million times, but Obama doesn’t know the temperament of the American people. He’s used to dealing with Obamabots and the Left and assumes his lies and contradictions will hold forever.
[45]
It’s frightening that folks have either misunderstood or misused Nazi, Far Right, Socialism, etc…I look at the things Bush-hitler was called for doing nothing in that vein, yet here it is, being stuck blatantly in our faces 24/7, and they don’t recognize it. Or, from the administration’s pov, covering a pile of poo with leaves so it looks pretty. Then sell it.
[46]
It’s hilarious watching there reactions to some of there own tactics being used against them, I’m positively entertained. There are pockets of ‘organizers’ in some of these but for the most part the people who show up, are people who want to show up and aren’t being paid etc…
KH — You certainly have the left’s number on this one! It’s like the pot calling the kettle black type of thing…and it is amusing, if not downright laughfulable to see the moans, groans and all the squirming going on leftists news organizations and cirles, ingeneral!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah…
[47]
beej, at RedState they had a great compare and contrast on the truth about handling dissent:
A Study in Contrast
Obama Handles Dissent Far Differently than the Bush White House
Some interesting quotes and facts that pointedly show up the differences.
[48]
From MKH at the Weekly Standard:
The DNC Will Be Disappointed to Learn Nearly 60 Percent of the Country is Part of ‘Extremist Mob’
Another reason why I think Obama & the DNC are making so much noise. They know they’ve been losing ground.
[49]
More evidence of DNC projection:
BREAKING: DNC calling Republicans asking for local office details
The DNC is calling R congressional offices in swing districts asking for hours and when the Rep will be there. Erick makes the obvious point that the DNC is doing exactly what they’ve accused the R’s of doing–orchestrating protests.
[50]
If you’re out to make a splash, Barbara cheri,
Do know your haberdashery!
Buttons, buckles, ruffles and lace
Represent the social scene race!
Be an example to your sex
Give your boot a dapper strap
And it’s smarter if your garter has some snap!
A cravat should be flounced about your neck
Wear a nightcap when you nap
Be bewitching with some stitching on your cap!
Now, drape your cape
And puff your cuff
Embroider those lapels!
Be the new king of the social scene in pastels!
Draw your britches in quite tight
Even more so, and your torso will ignite
Now, smock your frock
Perfume your plume
And let your waistcoat swing!
And the social scene will bow to its new king!
[51]
Just as Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels tried to demonize and dehumanize Jews, Barack Obama and the DNC are trying to demonize and dehumanize those who are protesting their attempted takeovers and power grabs. The parallel is unmistakable.
[52]
Am I overdressed? Everyone be honest now.
[53]
You have to get rid of the sparkle & glitz!
But Pink is always appropriate for protests!
[54]
Channel 13 gets it in Minot:
How Come Conservative Health Care Protesters Are Thugs, But Liberal Anti-War Protesters Were Heros?

CheshireCat -
“Am I overdressed? Everyone be honest now.”
Yeah. It looks like Brooks Bros. to me.
[56]
bc
The best line on that Channel 13 link was –> There is a “kick the bums out” attitude in America right now. The liberals ignore it at their own peril.
[57]
I think that before the next tea party I will grow my armpit hair really long and wear a pink tank top (sans deoderant). Take that, over dressed protesters! I will look like a broke leftie yet!
[58]
eventually we will be racists, too,
Just a matter of time, dear beej.
[59]
INC —> The DNC is calling R congressional offices in swing districts asking for hours and when the Rep will be there.
The big difference will be when these left activists demonstrate in front of the republican offices (all one or two of them), the press will give it full coverage, with a tight lens, so it “looks” like one or two hundred!
[60]
I still can’t get over the arrogance. the Dems misred the election as a final verdict of “no” to the free market. Silly on their part. I am curious to see how many Blue Dogs vote for HC reform.
[61]
HAHAHAHAHA New sign idea on Twitter:
We’re empowered, and we showered!
[62]
That’s great!
[63]
THIS is the Fuhrer’s image to rally his Zombies of Obama! Enjoy
Since the beginning I found the whole cult of personality aspect of Obama really disturbing.
[64]
I fully expected there would be class warfare if Obama was elected, but I never dreamed it would occur so quickly.
I think his biggest mistake was trying to do too much too quickly rather than a frog boiler (turning up the temperature slowly).
[65]
BC
I told my cousin that Obama would be another Dinkins. He was going to screw up the economy and in the end we would have racial unrest.
[66]
I think his biggest mistake was trying to do too much too quickly…
That has been the only saving grace in this whole sad affair. Imagine if they were much more stealthy and patient. We would be boiled frogs indeed. Fortunately, they can’t resist their own nature.
[67]
GOP Fighting Back!
[68]
threads probably dead but i’ll stick this here cause it’s on topic. I watched Cavuto today, as he queried a Dem from congress who was spouting the talking points for august about mob rule. The puppet said that many of his colleagues had been fearful of their safety, and that there had even been a burning in effigy of one of them. I haven’t heard or seen info on this and i’m sure it’d be all over the news…is this dem doing what comes naturally and lying through his teeth?
[69]
beej, there’s a reference in this HA post to a Dem named Kratovil being hung in effigy. That’s the only reference I’ve seen.
[70]
As for the rest of it, why should they be afraid of ordinary citizens? We’re not talking Berkeley or Code Pink or ACORN at these meetings.
They don’t like the criticism and the hard questions.
