Gallup: Americans Take Tougher Stance on Immigration

2009 August 6
by bc3b

Taking a brief break from ObamaCare, one of the next items on the Obama agenda is Comprehensive Immigration Reform – another increasingly unpopular issue that he plans to jam down our throats with support from fellow Democrats and some Republicans.

With unemployment continuing to rise, citizens are taking a tougher stance on immigration. More believe immigration should be decreased than kept at the same level or decreased. In fact even a plurality of Democrats (44%) believe immigration should be decreased. According to the latest Gallup poll, opposition to immigration has increased by 11 points in the past year.

But, who are the American people to have any voice in the nation’s future? Just hush up and let enlightened minds like Barack Obama, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Kyle, Arlen Specter and Dick Durbin decide what’s right for you. Mouth off and I’ll report you to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Hat tip: Gallup

The puppet master and I agree – it’s time for the racists to shut up.

Well, Obama will be heading for the bottom of the polls if he tries to push this through. It already had stiff opposition before this increase!

If there is a place for the GOP to make a stand, this is it. Opposing CIR will be increasing important if some form of health care passes because of the astronomic costs of illegal immigrants, their immediate families and others who come to the U.S. via chain migration.

The Dems see this as their ace. They are going to ram thru health care communism and carbon tax, their watered down card check, and amnesty.

Then we will NOT BE ABLE to vote them out, and we get what we get and like it.

Of course, but we are going to get it anyway. The Dems on their own would be afraid to pass it, but with Rahm Emmanuel driving it, look out.

He will convince them to take the plunge, saying they will get voted out if they don’t.

There is no farther left position to take than open border/amnesty. All the worldwide communist organizations adopt this stance, and consider it more important than health care, gun bans, income redistribution, everything….

RWY, I would agree with you had the Dems proven to be smart and tried to tackle health care, cap & trade and immigration one year at a time. Instead, like a bunch of pigs, they got carried away at the trough and had to have it all. This was a tactical mistake on their part that hope leaves enough room to actually defeat all this crap. We’ll probably lose on some of it, but at least there is a chance because of the Dems blunder.

Amnesty has no chance in this environment, none, zero

2010 is already looking like 1994 for the Communists

Amnesty only becomes a threat post 2010 if the Communists haven’t been severely dented in the 2010 mid terms in the House

We need +30 in the House in 2010 and then I think amnesty can be blunted for the remainder of Obama’s term

Why? All they have to do is vote for it, they have plenty of votes….They have to realize they need not fear the voters, but plow ahead and go for it, and they are locked in for life.

    My theory:

They pass health care, carbon tax and card check in the teeth of 75% opposition from voters.

Seeing their obvious electoral plight, knowing amnesty is their only chance, they pass that as well.

Then come the 2010 elections, they win, even with 55% of Americans supporting Rs. They then go on to rule for 50 years…

This was why it was so incredible that the Rs were pushing amnesty. Unbelievable. The Dems were laughing so hard at us in 2007.

Bush managed to give the entire middle class the finger, lower the wage scale across the board for the poor, AND guarantee Dem majorities forever with his open border policy.

It is like a football game. You are down 35 to 14 with less than 6 minutes to go and they have the ball and are driving down the field. You know you need a turnover or some serious stand. But you can feel the game slipping away.

The entitlements put us on this course. Given what Social Security and Medicare are doing and will do – game over. This recession has sped up the game. Adding what “zero” and the dumocrats have done with spending – there words not mine “unsustainable”. Well boys and girls, we are past the point of even financing the debt we have left alone what they are putting on top of it. Add in Health Care – the hole is that much deeper. Bring in the Illegals, their family members and whoever else comes across the border that we can not document – GAME OVER AS WE KNOW IT.

When the American people realize what has happened to them – SHTF – NO. TEOTWAWKI will happen because the Left wont let go (secession). And then there will be 100 to 200 million dead.

Over the top – don’t think so. Go back and study the First American Revolution. Go see what happened in France and Russia during their revolutions. There is alot of bad blood that will be vented. Just make sure you don’t blink, because I know people who wont even have to think once.

Even if it passes there will not be blanket ‘poof you’re a citizen’. The last CIR didn’t enable it. And trust me I have been thru the immigration process well enough and long enough to know what BCIS is capable of. They could no more process 20m illegals in less than a year than fly to the moon.

Sure Congress could create some loophole. But I don’t think would be able to come up with legislation that enables it fast enough. I could always be wrong but I don’t think so.
