Gallup: Americans Take Tougher Stance on Immigration
Taking a brief break from ObamaCare, one of the next items on the Obama agenda is Comprehensive Immigration Reform – another increasingly unpopular issue that he plans to jam down our throats with support from fellow Democrats and some Republicans.
With unemployment continuing to rise, citizens are taking a tougher stance on immigration. More believe immigration should be decreased than kept at the same level or decreased. In fact even a plurality of Democrats (44%) believe immigration should be decreased. According to the latest Gallup poll, opposition to immigration has increased by 11 points in the past year.
But, who are the American people to have any voice in the nation’s future? Just hush up and let enlightened minds like Barack Obama, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Kyle, Arlen Specter and Dick Durbin decide what’s right for you. Mouth off and I’ll report you to flag@whitehouse.gov.
Hat tip: Gallup

The puppet master and I agree – it’s time for the racists to shut up.

[1]
Well, Obama will be heading for the bottom of the polls if he tries to push this through. It already had stiff opposition before this increase!
[2]
If there is a place for the GOP to make a stand, this is it. Opposing CIR will be increasing important if some form of health care passes because of the astronomic costs of illegal immigrants, their immediate families and others who come to the U.S. via chain migration.
[3]
The Dems see this as their ace. They are going to ram thru health care communism and carbon tax, their watered down card check, and amnesty.
Then we will NOT BE ABLE to vote them out, and we get what we get and like it.
[4]
If there is a place for the GOP to make a stand, this is it.
This is the one area they are the farthest left on. This the the hammer they will smash us with.
We will be like Mexico. Prepare.
[5]
With unemployment continuing to rise, citizens are taking a tougher stance on immigration.
Of course, but we are going to get it anyway. The Dems on their own would be afraid to pass it, but with Rahm Emmanuel driving it, look out.
He will convince them to take the plunge, saying they will get voted out if they don’t.
All or nothing time, people.
[6]
And look at the Bushes pushing it. Son of a &*()…
There is no farther left position to take than open border/amnesty. All the worldwide communist organizations adopt this stance, and consider it more important than health care, gun bans, income redistribution, everything….
[7]
RWY, I would agree with you had the Dems proven to be smart and tried to tackle health care, cap & trade and immigration one year at a time. Instead, like a bunch of pigs, they got carried away at the trough and had to have it all. This was a tactical mistake on their part that hope leaves enough room to actually defeat all this crap. We’ll probably lose on some of it, but at least there is a chance because of the Dems blunder.
[8]
Amnesty has no chance in this environment, none, zero
2010 is already looking like 1994 for the Communists
Amnesty only becomes a threat post 2010 if the Communists haven’t been severely dented in the 2010 mid terms in the House
We need +30 in the House in 2010 and then I think amnesty can be blunted for the remainder of Obama’s term
[9]
Less than +30 in 2010 and amnesty may then pass thereafter
[10]
Amnesty has no chance in this environment, none, zero
Why? All they have to do is vote for it, they have plenty of votes….They have to realize they need not fear the voters, but plow ahead and go for it, and they are locked in for life.
300 Dems in the house, 80 in the senate, forever…
[11]
The only thing they care about is their jobs, nothing else, they all want to stay in the House and Senate forever
Pass amnesty in this environment? They’d lose 50-60 seats in the House, maybe more
[12]
My theory:
They pass health care, carbon tax and card check in the teeth of 75% opposition from voters.
Seeing their obvious electoral plight, knowing amnesty is their only chance, they pass that as well.
Then come the 2010 elections, they win, even with 55% of Americans supporting Rs. They then go on to rule for 50 years…
[13]
The only thing they care about is their jobs, nothing else, they all want to stay in the House and Senate forever
This is precisely why they will pass it. Amnesty would turn 2/3 of congressional districts in the South blue, let along destroying the R party in the southwest.
[14]
What’ll happen to Heath Schuler, Charlie Melancon, the two idiot Dems in GA, Martin and the other fool whose name I can’t remember, along with all of the other BlueFraud Democrats if they pass amnesty?
Remember the old song “Wipeout”?
[15]
Pass amnesty in this environment? They’d lose 50-60 seats in the House, maybe more
No, they would GAIN 50-60….
[16]
They try that they’ll lose 70 seats in 2010
[17]
What’ll happen to Heath Schuler, Charlie Melancon, the two idiot Dems in GA, Martin and the other fool whose name I can’t remember, along with all of the other BlueFraud Democrats if they pass amnesty?
They’ll win re-election by large margins in their districts. Every one of them.
[18]
??????????????????????????????????????????????????
[19]
They try that they’ll lose 70 seats in 2010
Not with 15 million new voters across the south and southwest. They will gain.
[20]
MFG, what is it you don’t get about 15 million new Dem voters netting them seats?
Bro?
[21]
Watch
You’ll see I’m right
[22]
RWY may have a point. Even though with amnesty they would likely have to wait years to become citizens, they’ll be organized in 2010 to vote. After all, who is going to stop them?
[23]
This was why it was so incredible that the Rs were pushing amnesty. Unbelievable. The Dems were laughing so hard at us in 2007.
Bush managed to give the entire middle class the finger, lower the wage scale across the board for the poor, AND guarantee Dem majorities forever with his open border policy.
And he loved it. The Dems couldn’t believe their luck.
[24]
Many of these are children, many will never register to vote, of those who vote not all will vote Democratic, illegals are CONCENTRATED in CA, TX etc and not spread out all over the country
Heath Schuler votes for amnesty, Heath Schuler is out on his ass and he knows it
[25]
Watch
You’ll see I’m right
Not to pick a fight or anything, but I cannot for the life of me see how you arrive at your conclusion. 15 million new Dem voters is game over. GAME OVER.
And they WILL vote in 2010, too. Of course they will.
[26]
Honestly, I don’t think the Dems have enough b*lls to wield such a naked power grab by granting amnesty in the way RWY describes. Enough would chicken out. They have their squishes just as the Republicans have theirs.
However, I certainly could be wrong. God I hope not.
[27]
True, MFG, but there are millions of them in NC, LA, GA, FL.
We will see. A case of beer to the winner.
[28]
Wouldn’t a case of ammo be more appropriate?
[29]
Indeed. But, ain’t nobody gettin my ammo..
[30]
I hope MFG is right. Hell I hope Oak Leaf is right and the economy is coming back.
But I don’t think so.
[31]
20 million illegals
6 million are children
14 million left
7 million register to vote
50% of these vote
3.5 million actually vote
They split Communist 70/30
Communists 2.5 million votes (roughly)
Republicans 1.0 million votes
This vote is disproportionately in already blue states
BlueFrauds obliterated in 2010 for supporting it (not to mention the economy goes into a depression which may make Mexico seem more appealing than the US for workers)
Amnesty will annihilate the democratic Party electorally
[32]
Another half a million plus jobs go poof in America in July.
Are there any working Americans left?
[33]
If we can’t make electoral progress in 2010 then your scenario becomes much more plausible and much more dangerous
Need +30 in 2010
[34]
MFG, that assumes static trends based on historical data….you let them bring families, and you let ACORN get ahold of them, and you’ll see a lot more than a 1.5 million vote Dem swing.
And 1.5 would be bad enough.
[35]
House in 2010 is everything…
[36]
1.5 million would be a disaster
It’s a long term threat to be sure
If/when Texas goes blue how can we ever get to 270 again…???
[37]
Maybe if everything goes to hell now, it’s really for the best
Makes secession and the founding of Oklatex come that much quicker
Think of how upset Jefferson and Adams would have been if the King had given in to colonial demands…!!!
Maybe we should just let the disaster occur so as to facilitate secession…
[38]
If/when Texas goes blue how can we ever get to 270 again…???
Texas? What about VA, FL, NC, OH,?
We can’t. And Texas and CA are the way they are because of open borders. That’s it and that’s all.
We all have to live in communism so the construction companies can have cheap labor.
[39]
Secession now
[40]
And see? Look what the construction companies and meat packers and farmers, and others have done by hiring illegals. Helped pump up home prices and added Dem votes.
Now their businesses are gone.
How does in feel, you bastards? Live in the misery you created with your greed and your refusal to pay good wages.
Price of lettuce! Price of lettuce! The price of lettuce is the most important thing in America!!
[41]
Just as the South was mad, utterly mad, to think that they could keep human bondage in perpetuity, without bathing the country in blood, so the current generation of businessmen and Chamber of Commerce types are insane, completely stark raving bark at the moon CRAZY to think they can import millions of low wage slaves and not wreck the country.
Unreal, that they would think that.
Now look what they’ve done. No getting out of it now.
[42]
Multiculturalism! No other way! Open borders! Doing the jobs Americans won’t do! Taking the wages Americans won’t take! Electing the Democrats Americans won’t elect!
[43]
And the Chamber of Commerce types are still pushing amnesty.
This is going to get worse, and a lot worse, and there will not be a way out. Secession is literally the only way.
hell. I need a jack daniels.
[44]
I can really lighten up a thread, eh?
[45]
RWY, I’ve been a way for a while, but it is very encouraging that you haven’t changed one bit.
[46]
well, I still don’t think the country will stay afloat. It’s going to crater, and hard.
[47]
The biggest problem is in the Senate. There are 60 Democrats plus McCain, Lucy Graham, Kyle, Martinez and a few others will join the Dems.
[48]
WE ARE ALL JUST BEING GAMED.
Mike Enzi is now teaming with Olympia Snowe?
There isn’t hardly a Republican out there I guess that can be trusted. Just about none of them. This country is so hopelessly f-ed in the head.
[49]
RWY,
You assume that the amnesty is blanket no questions asked. They are all citizens immediately. That won’t happen. If it ends up anything like the last CIR proposal it would take most illegals 2-3 years to have the paperwork.
2010 elections are in 14 months. There is not enough time RWY.
[50]
bcb3,
you left out snow and the other maine what’s her name.
now add enzi too. enzi!?
there is no longer a Republican party. They can’t hold together a caucus for she-it.
[51]
I STRONGLY agree with RWY. People will catch on sooner or later. Secession is the only way to not be part of a government that spends amok, especially on liberal interests. Let the Democrats and liberals have Washington. Just that good meaning folks need to break away from Washington. It IS the only way. We don’t have honest media in this country anywhere. Conservatives and small government folks are treated like 2nd citizens. Well its time to be a 1st citizen of some place else!!
[52]
Good point wildernesstea. I keep forgetting that Snowe and Collins aren’t Democrats.
[53]
Price for House Speaker!
[54]
The only GOP senators I truly trust are DeMint, Coburn and Inhofe.
[55]

2010 elections are in 14 months. There is not enough time RWY.
You don’t think that ACORN can take care of that, with some help from Sonia?
Please. You think there are still rules anymore?
As soon as amnesty passes, they can start registering them. They probably will before then.
There are no rules anymore, that’s the only rule now. Those who cling to the rules and pretend they are still in effect are mere patsies and useful idiots.
[56]
Enzi is unbelievable. But Robert Bork was a gun banner.
There is no one left who can be trusted. Forget majorities, I am just looking for a few people to help me string my razor wire and reload my mags…
[57]
The biggest problem is in the Senate. There are 60 Democrats plus McCain, Lucy Graham, Kyle, Martinez and a few others will join the Dems.
Oh yeah, the house is a sanctuary of constitutional law. Absolutely.
[58]
There are at least 65 votes for CIR in the Senate. I don’t like the chances in the House, but we’re dead for sure in the Senate.
[59]
They are not listening to us. 2007 was our last shot, if we didn’t take the house back in 2008 it was over.
It’s over.
It’s not even the Dems’ fault really. Incredibly, after all we went thru with Bush, we nominated John McCain. John McCain.
The R party is dead, and it’s not the RINOs or even the Dems, or Bush, or McCain, who did it. They helped.
But it was the R primary voters who nominated McCain.
[60]
Will they be stupid enough to go for CIR – wont matter.
This game is over, the vast majority of people just don’t know it.
It is like a football game. You are down 35 to 14 with less than 6 minutes to go and they have the ball and are driving down the field. You know you need a turnover or some serious stand. But you can feel the game slipping away.
The entitlements put us on this course. Given what Social Security and Medicare are doing and will do – game over. This recession has sped up the game. Adding what “zero” and the dumocrats have done with spending – there words not mine “unsustainable”. Well boys and girls, we are past the point of even financing the debt we have left alone what they are putting on top of it. Add in Health Care – the hole is that much deeper. Bring in the Illegals, their family members and whoever else comes across the border that we can not document – GAME OVER AS WE KNOW IT.
When the American people realize what has happened to them – SHTF – NO. TEOTWAWKI will happen because the Left wont let go (secession). And then there will be 100 to 200 million dead.
Over the top – don’t think so. Go back and study the First American Revolution. Go see what happened in France and Russia during their revolutions. There is alot of bad blood that will be vented. Just make sure you don’t blink, because I know people who wont even have to think once.
[61]
But it was the R primary voters who nominated McCain.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
True, but unfair, rwy. By the time my state voted, McCain was really the only one left to vote for. Everyone else had dropped out. Even then, I voted for Fred.
[62]
I know Beej. It’s tough.
Just make sure you don’t blink, because I know people who wont even have to think once.
heh. And, just when I think I am the fire-eater of the site, along comes gn….
[63]
By the time my state voted, McCain was really the only one left to vote for. Everyone else had dropped out. Even then, I voted for Fred.
I had to vote for Romney in FL, and McCain won anyway. Agonizing.
[64]
Right Wing – yeah.
Like you, I find the similarities to pre war Germany scary. You and me and others are watching what is happening. “zero” has his Brown Shirts BUT unlike Germany there will be resistance.
Did Nazi Germany have the alternative factions. “zero” has to contend with conservatives, who many are ex-military with a certain skill set. And what do you think the Aryan Nation and the Klan will do – sit it out? Or would it be a wet dream come true for them.
[65]
And what do you think the Aryan Nation and the Klan will do – sit it out? Or would it be a wet dream come true for them.
But Gngang, don’t you see, they will characterize us all as Aryan and Klan. Obama wants blood in the streets, but he may be in for a surprise when he fights men that want to be free.
[66]
bruce – I do not stand with the Aryan Nation or the Klan.
All I am saying is, they will stand back and wait. When all out fighting begins – they will jump in.
I do realize they will call us everything but white. When blow back comes, they will be surprised.
My fear is that “zero” will over react. He will push, the other side will push back. If it comes to blood, “zero” will realize that he screwed up big time. It will be open season and there will be no going back. American Revolution II will be on. And I would not want to be a politician at that point (Democrat or Republican). They both brought this crap to us.
[67]
Please. You think there are still rules anymore? — RWY
Even if it passes there will not be blanket ‘poof you’re a citizen’. The last CIR didn’t enable it. And trust me I have been thru the immigration process well enough and long enough to know what BCIS is capable of. They could no more process 20m illegals in less than a year than fly to the moon.
Sure Congress could create some loophole. But I don’t think would be able to come up with legislation that enables it fast enough. I could always be wrong but I don’t think so.
[68]
gnqanq,
prewar Germany had a resistance movement, the communists. They also had returning veterans very capable of paramilitary ops. The late 30’s were very bloody for Germany.
We could be there in less than a year I believe.
