Green Czar: Van Jones

2009 August 25
by INC

dont-tread-300Yesterday on his program Glenn Beck began to discuss Van Jones.  Gateway Pundit has this update:

UPDATE: Beck said today on FOX and Friends that he will expose Obama’s Green Czar as an “avowed communist.”

He includes a link to this post by David Horowitz:

Obama’s Communist Advisor and His Billion-Dollar Army

I’m in NY where I’ll be headed to the Fox studios in a few hours to tape the “Glenn Beck Show.” The segment I’m doing will be aired Thursday as part of a week-long series called “The New Republic,” which is Glenn’s look at the radical agendas of the Obama Administration….

Beck also focused on Van Jones, a self-described Communist who is now the Special Assistant to the President for “Green Jobs”. Beck ran some revealing clips on Jones, who is a Jeremiah Wright radical — a black racist and Ivy League elitist. Beck noted Jones’ radical “past” — actually he became a  Communist in 1992 and for the next 10 years was a member of a communist party dedicated to “organizing a revolutionary movement.”

Beck perspicaciously pointed out that Jones was the candidate of the Apollo Alliance — which is a communist party of the green movement composed of social justice and racial justice groups.

I have been gradually updating my post of last week: David Horowitz On Saul Alinsky, which he began in preparation for his interview with Glenn Beck.  I haven’t quite caught up with Mr. Horowitz’ continuing series, but at Newsreal Blog you can find the next installments.  He has eight posts up, with Part VI divided into three separate posts.  I highly recommend it, and please take the time to look at the information on Van Jones he discusses today.

UPDATE: Video from FOX News, Radical in the White House? Obama’s Green Jobs ‘Czar’ Exposed.

Thanks, as always, for your informative posts, INC. It’s like being in a daily seminar of newsworthy comments.

I got a kick, though, out of the excerpt you posted on Jones.

Beck ran some revealing clips on Jones, who is a Jeremiah Wright radical — a black racist and Ivy League elitist

Add to his credentials of being a “communist,” and what harm could he possibly do???

    Geeez!!!!!

Below is an interesting comparison and contrast between Bill Clinton’s 1st-term problems and the ones Obama is currently experiencing. Possibly, though, Obama’s lack of on-the-job prior experience will prove to be his Achilles Heel.

Even in the midst of a Republican resurgence, Mr. Clinton would go on from the defeat to become the first Democrat since FDR to be elected to two terms. By contrast, Mr. Obama’s handling of the health-care debate—making villains out of cable television and insurance companies, questioning the motives of those who disagree, imposing artificial deadlines—suggests a rigidity typically associated with a lack of executive experience and responsibility.

“This recession was simply worse than the information that we and other forecasters had back in last fall and early this winter,” Romer said.

This was said in explaining the WH’s current dire predictions of increasing unemployment and deficits.

    H/T Drudge

The problem with the Obama Administration is not that they misread the recession, but, rather, they misread what the proper antidote should be. Their solutions, consequently, have only worsened the recession, and they are in denial about this fact.

    mullet, I don’t know. I didn’t catch FOX, however, I wouldn’t be surprised.

    True, Jan.

I even called my Dem senator earlier this year and said that predictions were the recession would end itself later this year if nothing were done. The Dems proceeded to make matters worse.

You’re probably right Aureliusx. But, the point I was trying to make is that the deepening of this recession is Obama’s fault, his policies that followed the onset of the collapse, and not because the recession was “misread.”

The deepening of the recession is his fault, indeed.

We need to be careful to not presume that Obama is in any way trying to help the country or economy become stronger. Nothing could be farther from his goal. He is not some clueless liberal blogger who thinks these policies are the optimal ones for the recession. He is a clear-as-day closet communist who knows exactly how destructive he will be. His goal is crushing the productive, elevating the nonproductive, and setting in stone the State that will ensure we never escape again.

The “Rahm factor” is spelled out in this rather flamboyant John Batchelor article.

Emanuel’s methods in the House are now writ large throughout the government. Not one of the House Democrats is suicidal enough to push back in public against what amounts to his extortion and protection racket for each successive piece of partisan legislation—witness the 219 beaten-up votes for cap and trade in the House, or the pummeled Blue Dogs during the health-care brouhaha during recess. One Democratic wag comments that Rahm Emanuel is to the Blue Dogs what Michael Vick was to pit bulls. In the beginning he feeds them steak, then they get torn apart.

Like I said, Aureliusx — you say it better than I.

But, Obama’s words to the people are taken by many “sheeple” (such a great term for non-thinking people) as “fact” or “truth.” And, his words simply belie what is truly taking place in this country because of all the ill-conceived and ill-placed policies he keeps ramming down our throats — “rushing” them through with a mock sense of urgency!

Seen in the comment section of another blog:

Obama’s health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn’t understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it and whose members will be exempt from it,
signed by a president who smokes,
funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,
and financed by a country that is broke.

Too bad it won’t fit on a bumper sticker.

I think he made the mistake of trying to do too much to quickly (and the American public quickly discovered just how radical he is).

Somewhere in Alaska, an unemployed housewife is probably fine-tuning the next Facebook salvo. Imagine how much more time she’ll have in a few weeks when the kids are back in school.

Nope that is on purpose. The WH team is flooding the left zone of Congress using a 6-3 offense. Stuff is coming at them so fact nobody can keep up with it, by design.

By the way, if you did watch Beck yesterday did you catch his drift that it is NOT Congress writing these bills but community organizing groups on the Left dumping in on willing staffers. We’re watching payback, they are calling in all the chits that got dip shit elected and we’re paying for it!

I’m not certain he does know exactly what he’s doing. Rather, I suspect he’s just following instinct. It’s in his nature. If he knew exactly what he’s doing we would be more screwed right now than we already are.

A scorpion was wandering along the bank of the river, wondering how to get to the other side. Suddenly he saw a fox. He asked the fox to take him on his back across the river.
The fox said, “No. If I do that, you’ll sting me and I’ll drown.”
The scorpion assured him, “If I did that, we’d both drown.”
So the fox thought about it and finally agreed. So the scorpion climbed up on his back and the fox began to swim. But halfway across the river, the scorpion stung him.
As the poison filled his veins, the fox turned to the scorpion and said, “Why did you do that? Now you’ll drown too.”
“I couldn’t help it,” said the scorpion. “It’s my nature.”

The left is also trying to have Facebook censor Sarah Palin, but that’s a thread for tonight or tomorrow.

If you haven’t figured it out yet we’re in a war and the typical RINO nicey-nicey (I’ll have the moral high ground if I let you rape me) ain’t gonna win it.

This is a time for people like Glenn Beck, Jim DeMint, Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin and Michele Bachmann; not Mitt Romney, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, David Frum, Peggy Noonan, Charles Krathammer and Rich Lowry.

Censor Sarah on Facebook? I don’t see it happening for a number of reasons.

I know the folks at Facebook are typical SF Bay Area lefties, but on what grounds could they silence her on Facebook? Anyway, the management and investors in Facebook love money more than principle. Sarah brings so much attention to Facebook that I’m certain they are right now wondering how to get her to post more often.

Read their TOS. They don’t need a reason.

    13. # Termination

If you violate the letter or spirit of this Statement, or otherwise create possible legal exposure for us, we can stop providing all or part of Facebook to you. We will generally try to notify you, but have no obligation to do so. You may also delete your account or disable your application at any time. In all such cases, this Statement shall terminate, but the following provisions will still apply: 2.2, 2.3, 3-5, 8.2, 9.1-9.3, 9.9, 9.10, 9.13, 9.15.1, 9.18, 10.3, 11.2, 11.5, 11.6, 11.9, 11.10, 11.13, 11.14, and 13-16.

Then section 3 has this —

.5 You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
.6 You will not post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.

So what is the definition of bully or intimidate? Heh solely Facebook’s discretion. Like an old roommate of mind once said, now a lawyer, “Fine print is there for your pleasure or consternation. YMMV.”

MPT here’s how a Facebook rejection would play out.

    * ACLU gets involved.
    * They point out some offense about death panels.
    * ACLU on the back end scares the hell out of the Facebook execs but offer them an out if they just cut her off.
    * Facebook turns off her account.

Now if that happens, it is the most stupid thing that the Leftists could do. Guys like me an RWY could have her up on the Amazon cloud with WordPress in a day. A day later have RSS, ATOM, SMS and surveys and collecting contacts. She would end up more connected than she was before and reach an even bigger audience.
