HOW DID THE COUNTRY GET TO THIS STATE?

2009 August 30
by

A great question, you might say.

Answer?  The country started on this path of government control a long time ago.  It has been a tortuous path, to be sure, but slow and steady since FDR created the “New Deal”.  His administration was the first socialist leaning (indeed, the first communist leaning) presidency.

What allowed these socialists to get into power in the first place.  Simple answer:  The Great Depression.  When the great part of the population loses hope, they will vote in desperation for anyone who will get them out of their troubles.  (Example:  Adolph Hitler)  Much like the current Obama administration, FDR’s was riddled with actual communists or communist sympathizers.  The Elite minds of the day had become leftists in the early twenties.  It is no coincidence that most spies back in the day were double-hyphen names who were educated in the Ivy league Universities.  Elite professors at those institutions had already been indoctrinated in communism, or at least socialism.  They openly taught rebellion against capitalism, hence the students became indoctrinated and became true believers.  Since FDR only knew these types of people, he surrounded himself with them. Also, maybe more importantly, the Northeast was the center of the news media, and most of the publishers were Ivy Leaguers who trumpeted everything FDR did with great fanfare, while downplaying any problems with his administration.  Sound Familiar?

The “New Deal” was a script written by socialists  for socialists.  It enabled them to convince the country that the government was the only solution.  It was the perfect Ponzi Scheme.  It required people to pay into a system and not withdraw from it until they were in their sixties.  Since very few people at that time did not survive much past that age,  it was both a money making scheme and a way to control the government forever.  It did both.

It worked marvelously well for for four decades.  Since the Democrats gave the people Social Security, they used it to retain power and therefore held on to the majority in both the House and the Senate for most of the next 40 years.

This idealist socialist state may have really taken hold if it had not been for WWII.  The war woke the country up and a great tide of Patriotism and pride ensued.  It also brought us out of the depression.  After the war, the socialists mainly went underground because of the great wave of patriotism and the post war boom.  The elite started stacking the universities with socialist and actual communists.

They never stopped undermining the country and slowly, deliberately gained control of the Democratic Party.  The rest, as they say is history.  The student riots of the sixties; The Great Society; defeat in Vietnam were all orchestrated by the leftists.  The Protesters of that time are now running our government, publishing the news and controlling most of the money.

Fast forward to the present and it is not hard to see how the country elected a president who is bathed in socialism .

He is quickly surrounding himself with those American Hating Czars who really want to “change” America.  That change will be the end of America as we know it.

Be ever vigilant, citizens, because our country is in real danger.  Fight them every step of the way and take our country back from the career politicians.  God Bless America.

    Congratulations and an excellent post.

One thing that few remember is that while the left was on the march from the days of Marx in the late 19th century, America was not immune. We have been struggling with “progressives” since the days of Teddy Roosevelt, and it has never been put to rest or killed at the root, despite all its manifest failures.

We must kill left/traitors at the root. They will either succeed this time or forever be doomed to the trashheap of history along with the Soviet Union. They know this. it is why they are trying to push bills through as fast as possible and in the middle of the night. Their day is here and they must fail for our country to remain.

Republican Pundit — nice commentary, and a timely question concerning ‘How we got here.’

I have to say that sorting through history can be comforting, as it shows patterns and trends, and it also demonstrates that with deliberation and committment political tides can be turned.

Like rwy said, perhaps the roots are never killed, but vigilance stems rampant and irreversible politics and is able to keep it in check if the people wake up and participate in keeping their freedoms in place.

excellent post, RP. A perrenial problem we on the Right have: we assume that all those living in and GOVERNING what is currently called the “United States” want this nation to be FREE.

Nothing could be farther from the truth!

Many on the Left, and ALL on the FAR Left believe fervently in Plato’s “Benevolent Dictatorship” as the ideal societal state! And they see THEMSELVES as those “Benevolent Dictators”.

Freedom, to many on the Left, is an outdated and messy notion. The evidence is overwhelming!

And, don’t forget, the Nazis said they learned propaganda from the Wilson administration.

Woodrow Wilson was an avowed racist and put over 150,000 Americans in prison for opposing him politically.

    I never knew that.

I knew he tried his “league of nations” nonsense and was a acerbic fellow. That’s about all I knew of him.

I always knew FDR was a communist.

Fire update: Mt. Wilson, east of Los Angeles, where a lot of communication facilities are located, is in jeopardy of being burned out by what is being called the “Station” Fire.

This is such a 60 year old growth fuel-fed fire that seems to double in its area overnight.

…and, California has cut some of it’s firefighting services because of budget difficulties. What about some of the govt. pensions being cut!

    Good post.

During the FDR years, the intelligencia from Ivy League institutions flocked to DC. Unfortunately, they never left. They have all the answers even though they have never held a job outside of academia or government. They have been a fixture in GOP administrations as well as Democratic.

That was the thumb in the eye we got for voting no on tax increases. That, and massive inmate release.

yep. They had people like George Bernard Shaw, the playwright, defending everything they did. He would visit the USSR and come back raving about how wonderful it was, like the Hollydorks who rave about Cuba.

They invented the term “potemkin village” during this time, after one of the soviet ministers who was in charge or shepherding visitors around these “staged” villages where everyone was well fed and happy, even though the truth was millions were starving. And being made to starve deliberately.

And Shaw went back to the UK and praised it all to the skies.

I thought Teddy was the first progressive US POTUS. McCain worships him.

Many say that. But consider if he was in the Oval Office today —

    * Rather than bouying up the banks he would be tearing them apart to make them smaller so their control of the markets were smaller. Probably do the same to the Goldman-Sachs types too.
    * He would have been busting the unions chops too. SEIU would be in his sights. He walked soft on the union, but he threaten to make them dig coal at the point of a gun if necessary.
    * Envirowennies would not like him either. He was a conservationist, but once critical vista’s had been secured he saw no problem with tearing down a mountain to get to the copper or watching 2″ guppies croak so the country could grow olives.
    * He was a defense hawk.

He might even be considered a right winger in today’s political climate.

Good read over at American Thinker today.

The liberals have learned the lesson of the 1994 election, and before they are forced to face the electorate again in 2010, they have launched full-force the juggernaut that is their socialist platform without regard to the impotent pockets of Republican opposition within their ranks. And rest assured; there will be no “compassionate liberalism” extended to their opponents.
