Ronald Reagan and ObamaCare –
Against Socialized Medicine
On July 20th, I wrote a post titled, Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine, the recording done by Reagan which was distributed by the AMA across the country in 1961 to their Woman’s Auxiliary in the Operation Coffee Cup campaign.
Seth Adam Smith of Conservatives4Palin has produced a new video using about five minutes of the original recording. He writes:
Having lived in Vladivostok and Moscow, Russia for teaching opportunities, I have seen the devastating effects of socialism/communism—-when too few people have too much power over so many people….We’ve reached a critical juncture in our nation’s history and none of us can afford to be apathetic.
I’m posting this for several reasons. First, the Ronald Reagan recording is still making the rounds of the web. Over the last month I have been surprised to see that long after the July post was done, we have had people coming to Be John Galt because they were searching for Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine. Second, Seth has asked people to share and post it. They do great work over at their site and I am happy to do that. Finally, I want to make sure that no one has missed this.
Reagan closed by saying this:
And if you don’t do this and if I don’t do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.
Through his words, President Reagan still speaks out for us and for the country he loved.

What did it for me with Sarah was when I saw that copy of “Liberty and Tyranny” in her lap at one of her last events as gov.
It’s clear she gets it.
I am hoping she does not get roped in by the open borders crowd. The lower 48 are not like AK in that regard, we can’t just keep “taking everybody”……

The fed raises rates to stave off inflation, the treasury stops printing cash..
Result:
1. what little economy (recovery or not) we have crashes.
2. GDP crashes.
3. tax revenue goes with it,
4. ability to service debt is threatened, default rears its head…
5. Currency crash as US becomes insolvent (officially)
6. death spiral ensues.
Path B) Bernanke fed and Geithner at Treas continues to print dollars and “launder” T bill sales.. (expected path)
1. economic recovery slow and painful, but present
2. inflation increases rapidly
3. 1970’s stagflation ensues as Congress raises taxes, imposes socialism
4. dollar begins to melt faster and faster, borrowing capabilities disappear
5. We pay our debts in mountains of worthless greenbacks. No default, but no economy either.
6 death spiral ensues.
So: are we doomed? Are my leaps too far between?
What, besides a huge national austerity program, massive energy breakthru, or hell, an invasion and plundering of other nation’s assets, are our options?

but the “invasion” will be the anticipated “Reichstag Fire”…and WE will be blamed for it!

Forswear all tax increases, try to make nice with the business community (who are TERRIFIED right now) and try to grow our way out of it is the only path. Of course, Captain Bullshit would never go for this, but that is the way out…

RWY, either A or B could happen. The central fact is that the fastest growing component of the Federal budget is servicing the debt. And that debt service is being paid like a loser rolling debt after debt on new credit cards. Problem is the Chinese will eventually say ‘no more’. Once that happens with either scenario the jig is up.

justrand – the left is playing a very dangerous game. I believe like you that the left believes they can usher in their leftist utopia after an economic crash. As they have said, “never let a crisis go to waste”. They believe that the sheep will be willingly led.
The problem is the unintended consequences of this economic crash or of their Reichstag fire. There will be a push back by the left (hit them twice as hard), met by resistance from the right (we aint going). What will the left do? Do we get into a push come shove momemnt. Does it escalate? I believe the left will push through creating the reichstag fire moment because of the arrogance of the left and particularly of ‘zero’.
With that moment they wont have lit the fuse but actually have set off the explosive. We will have that Concord/Lexington moment. It will be too late to turn back.
And like the French Revolution, police and military personnel will go over to the other side (conservative side) and it will be game on.
Remember the people out protesting at the tea parties and these health care town halls are regular people. What is going on with those on the far right?

Not much there BC. But I have not heard nothing bad either. Williams problem is the same one that Kiki had, not enough heft to get his message out. Elizabeth Jones has the better backing right now and seems to be getting the support of the Republican machine.
