The Cost of Freedom

2009 August 7
by justrand

Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass) took place the night of November 9, 1938, and into the morning of the 10th.  This anti-Jewish pogrom raged across Nazi Germany and Austria, leading to 25,000 Jewish men being arrested and sent to concentration camps, 7500 businesses destroyed, 267 synagogues burned, and 91 Jews killed. Horrible?  Certainly.  Yet it merely foreshadowed the Holocaust.

Although pogroms occurred in Europe throughout history, the seeds of this event had been carefully planted over the previous decade.  Jews were singled out and blamed for everything that went awry.  In August-December, 1935, the Nazi Party’s Central Propaganda Office issued a series of “Talking Points Against the Jews”.  These were distributed to Party officials and NEWS outlets, to be used to characterize any and all stories regarding Jews.  “Jewish greed and arrogance” was the predominant theme, and became the basis for Kristallnacht.

By the 1938 the German people were convinced that ANYTHING done to the Jews was well deserved!  Well deserved because they were resisting National Socialism by arrogantly retaining their private enterprises, and daring to make profits while many non-Jewish Germans were not.

Now, the Left in Amerika is using Saul Alinsky’s teachings to start teachings to accelerate the isolation and demonization of those who oppose them: US.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

Over the last few days the media has fallen into perfect lock-step, Goosestep really, with the Obama Regime.  Across Amerika middle-aged folks in Bermuda shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops are being characterized as “thugs of the Insurance Companies”.  We who DARE to oppose Obama’s policies are called “Nazis”, and our right to dissent in ANY way is being openly questioned!

Intimidation is the order of the day, as huge sections of Town Hall meetings are being “Reserved for SCIU representatives”, and the middle-aged Bermuda shorts clad “thugs” are starting to be openly pushed around.

To sell some future “Kristallnacht” the demonization will need to continue and accelerate…as it appears to be doing.  The “thugs” pictured below are the menace that must be silenced for the good of the State!

The Cost of Freedom becomes more apparent each week.  At the moment it’s the cost of a pair of Bermuda shorts, a 3×3 piece of poster-board and a Sharpie.  Obama and Pelosi feel that is too cheap…and thus the price is going up, dramatically!

Black Conservative’s Attorney Sends Out Letter After Brutal Attack At Carnahan Town Hall Meeting

The SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another SEIU member yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him in the head and back. Kenneth was also brutally attacked by one other male SEIU member and an unidentified woman. The three men were clearly SEIU members, as they were wearing T-shirts with the SEIU logo.

Justrand, some of my friends think that I’m turning into a Right Wing Yahoo (no offense to Right Wing Yahoo). They are really believing that the “unruly mobs” are indeed “payed insurance company shills” who need to listen less to “Rush” and more to “NPR”. I have a feeling I’ll be losing some friends over this coming months as the rhetoric against those on the right ratchets up by the Dems and amplified by the MSM. The subtle hint that we are against Obama because of race is also becoming not so subtle anymore. Any resistance to the slander is seen as just more evidence against me.

Of course, like you, I live in the SF Bay Area where leftism is rampant. I certainly hope that my experience isn’t representative of people in more normal areas of America.

At the risk of being redundent, conservatives must escalate the war with the media and do everything in our power to discredit it.

I know what you mean, about “losing friends.” I lost a few towards the end of the ‘08 election too.

When I was talking to liberal friends about the misgivings I had about Obama, I would be asked where I got such information. I then would provide links or documentation, and it was ultimately too much for them to hear….some of those friendships changed, radically.

A few “conspiracy” notations of mine:

The building of so-called “detention camps” has been discussed here and elsewhere. I’ve have not been worried about such camps, as it seemed too out-of-this-world that our country could turn to such punitive actions. What could get so bad that the public would literally be rounded up and put in such camps???

Now, we are having growing discord in these townhalls meetings, and the dims are coloring them, distorting them to be something other than honest public dissent — swastikas, “snitching” on people and Obama saying —> ‘I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess’… My mind is now wondering, does getting people out of the way to “clean up the mess” have anything to do with “detention camps?”

Another strange occurrence is that this week Chief Wm. Bratton, of the Los Angeles Police Dept, quite suddenly announced his resignation. This was preceeded, a little earlier, by the Chief of police in San Diego, just south of Los Angeles. Why are we having these sudden resignations of top cops, and importantly who is going to replace them — maybe people more tied to the govt?

The Strange Case of Professor Obama and Mr Hussein is a real life drama playing out in the aftermath of the Presidential election of 2008. It is about the dilemma of the American citizen who sees strange dissonances between the new found Messiah, Professor Obama, and the ever more emerging misanthropic, pyromaniac (reference note #1) Mr. Hussein. It is a vivid portrayal of a split personality, split in the sense that within the same person there is, or was, both an apparently good and an ever more emerging evil personality each being quite distinct from the other. In mainstream culture the very phrase “Obama and Hussien” will come to mean a person who’s words are vastly different in moral character from his actions.

Reference note #1: Such individuals who lack ulterior motive have traditionally been referred to in layman’s terms simply as a variation of a pyromaniac. Most such maniacs lack conscious motivation although they are fully aware of the acts they are failing to stop or they themselves are committing. Typically they will feel intense pleasure, gratification, or relief when causing destruction or when witnessing or participating in the aftermath. Motivation is also classified as pathological and non-pathological. Some research suggests that feeling such joy at horrific situation is pathological. Other research suggests that some motivation for this comes from rational thought. Taking joy in horrific situations for envisioned gains in political power and/or the concealment of the imposition of devious plans are examples of supposed rational decision making.

Further research is needed into this very disturbed man’s psyche, of course, but in layman’s terms, we can already conclude that Barack Obama is becoming more and more like a rabid dog.

What has been most unsettling is not the congressmen’s surprise but a hard new tone that emerged this week. The leftosphere and the liberal commentariat charged that the town hall meetings weren’t authentic, the crowds were ginned up by insurance companies, lobbyists and the Republican National Committee. But you can’t get people to leave their homes and go to a meeting with a congressman (of all people) unless they are engaged to the point of passion. And what tends to agitate people most is the idea of loss—loss of money hard earned, loss of autonomy, loss of the few things that work in a great sweeping away of those that don’t.

People are not automatons. They show up only if they care.

Peggy Noonan has it right, for once.

    Washington Examiner Editorial:

Mr. President, Americans are not an ‘angry mob’

We are witnessing something terribly ugly in America this summer. Obama is leading a campaign to shift our peaceful democratic process away from civil discussions of programs and candidates to using the power of the state to bully those who oppose the majority party’s policy proposals. The threat may be as subtle as the fear of being reported by a neighborhood informant to the White House, or as overt as stick-wielding union toughs who might not approve of the way you ask your congressman a question.

During his campaign last year, the president famously told his supporters to “get in the faces” of those who disagreed with his vision for America. One of his Chicago mentors recalled in a 2007 New Republic profile that Obama, as a community organizer, was “the best student he ever had, a natural, the undisputed master of agitation” to gain political power. Sadly, now that he has it, he is turning it against those who oppose him.

Obama throws a match on the American powder keg

Soon after powerful members of the Democrat party began lying about the interests of the people at recent town hall meetings, President Obama released an email to members of his group Organizing for America. This email told people to attend town halls and “fight lies with truth.” The emails that the President is sending out contain information on Republican town halls and they encourage members of Organizing for America to attend.

This strategy is clearly a retaliation against regular Americans who showed up at town halls on their own volition to ask questions and expose lies….

With the measures Obama has taken and the direction he has given to his people, he wants absolute chaos in the streets. He wants citizen to fight citizen. He wants lies and turmoil to rule the day. He wants peace in the streets to be relics of the American past. He wants anger and hatred to be front and center in American hearts.

Obama is no President, he is proving himself to be the community organizer that he has always been.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

Well there are three corollaries to the rule –

    A) “If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril.” – Sun Tzu. To heap ridicule without form, purpose and facts of the one ridiculed is a pointless maneuver.

    B) You must be assured that your opponent cannot best you in the reply.

    C) The ridicule must resonate with a larger audience than just the one ridiculed.

So far from what I can tell Obama’s OFA tactics fail on all three counts. We outnumber them in every town hall save one, and that one had the fix in (Tampa). They know to best their opponent as they don’t know the Americans who are showing up. The head honcho does not even know himself let alone his opponent.

    Keep screaming America!

Great observation about the state-run media and the Left by Ace:

‘50% + of the public disagrees with them, and there is no getting around that, so they’ve simply decided to make overt and a binding “rule” what they’ve long believed silently — 50% of the public will simply need to be disenfranchised if we’re ever to “get things done” and impose our progressive agenda.’
