We are “Neanderthals”, now?

On August 7, MFG posted this thread. It has to do with the left’s past, dabbling in National Socialism, Eugenics, and crackpot racial theory, now long since discredited…

I suggested that the left, in all their humanist glory, still quietly held these beliefs of genetic or evolutionary supremacy over us old fashioned, small government constitutionalists:

Even the United States Supreme Court endorsed aspects of eugenics. In its infamous 1927 decision, Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote, “It is better for all the world, if instead of waiting to execute degenerate offspring for crime, or to let them starve for their imbecility, society can prevent those who are manifestly unfit from continuing their kind…. Three generations of imbeciles are enough.” This decision opened the floodgates for thousands to be coercively sterilized or otherwise persecuted as subhuman. Years later, the Nazis at the Nuremberg trials quoted Holmes’s words in their own defense. In Mein Kampf, published in 1924, Hitler quoted American eugenic ideology and openly displayed a thorough knowledge of American eugenics. “There is today one state,” wrote Hitler, “in which at least weak beginnings toward a better conception [of immigration] are noticeable. Of course, it is not our model German Republic, but the United States.”

Hitler proudly told his comrades just how closely he followed the progress of the American eugenics movement. “I have studied with great interest,” he told a fellow Nazi, “the laws of several American states concerning prevention of reproduction by people whose progeny would, in all probability, be of no value or be injurious to the racial stock.”

Hitler even wrote a fan letter to American eugenic leader Madison Grant calling his race-based eugenics book, The Passing of the Great Race his “bible.”

I wondered:

….why the left always calls conservatives and constitutionalists “mouth breathers” and “the extra chromosome right wing”, and “troglodites” and “primitives” and all sorts of other insults having as their object to demonstrate inferior genetics or stunted development, or “evolutionary obsolescence”?

Because they buy into this stuff 1000%.

They really believe that a dictator, and gold-rimmed square banners, and goose stepping storm troopers ARE the pinnacle of human achievement.

So, we know about John Holdren, Zeke Emmanuel, Peter Singer and their extreme views. But does the left really think we are genetically inferior and they are more advanced? Does anyone really believe this stuff anymore?

Well, here’s a possible Freudian slip:

Oversensitive? Or onto something?

Beuler? Beuler? Beeuuuuler?

    Because they buy into this stuff 1000%.

    They are into the acquisition of power. They also seem to want to find a way to make their power grab “morally” right–they have to proclaim and defend the superiority of their persons and their actions. That may be done merely to try to dupe people or as a way to internally justify their actions–whatever the reason, disdain for other human beings seems to be part and parcel of their political system. The Left is very self-righteous. They have to be as they have long scuttled any real understanding of true right and wrong.

    Thomas Sowell and David Horowitz have written far more eloquently and at length on this.

    Ordinarily, I would say yes, because I do agree with your premise.

    However, in this particular case, it is most likely just outright stupidity. In other words, an imbecile, of which three terms are enough (but there will no doubt be more).

    they fully intend to “purify” America. First by getting rid of the elderly. Then by restricting health care to the chronically sick…i.e., non-productive workers. Abortion will used as the founder of Planned Parenthood INTENDED it to be used: to select which fetuses are ALLOWED to be born. She didn’t have the genetic testing abilities we have today, of course…so she couldn’t achieve her dream.

    The zealots driving ObamaCare forward, like Dr. Ezikiel Emanuel, want the power of life and death. Obama proclaimed that very thing the other day. A proclamation that had BUSH said it would have, RIGHTLY, caused the nation’s media and ALL politicians to roar: “NO!!” Obama said “we are partners with God in matters of life & death“…and the media shrugged.

    We may be Neaderthals…but dammit, we’re well ARMED Neanderthals. Haven’t bought ammo in a few weeks…time to do so again!

    Well, no doubt they want power, and power absolute….

    So, how to justify it?

    “We are superior”?

    I say “yes”, the insanity of past progressivism is still with them today. And I say comments like this give away the game.

    They will rule us, because we are subjects. They will deprive us, because they matter more.

    They will imprison, and if need be kill, us, because our duty is to submit to them.

    I say my theory is right, and the left has not changed much at all since Marx’ day.

    There is only one alternative to liberty: Tyranny.

    The article was referring to Maxine Waters. Just saying the name of this woman should be enough, in describing what an insensitive, vindictive boob this entrenched politician is. Throwing out the term “Neanderthal,” is just her low-life way of getting the upper hand rhetorically. “Slander and demean the the other side, instead of having a meaningful debate or discourse on opposing ideas” —> that’s just how Water’s works. There is nothing else hidden in her obtuse agenda.

    As much as a double dip recession would likely slaughter the Democrats 2010, I certainly don’t want to see it happen. The amount of pain it will inflict on people already living close to the edge will be immense. Hopefully a long, drawn out recovery is the more likely scenario. A recovery painful enough to chasten the voters with regards to Democrat Utopianism, but not painful enough to threaten us with a true depression level economic calamity.

    mpt, the sad reality is that it may take a double-dip recession to burn through the layers upon layers of bullshit the Dems and the media throw up.

    And if those layers of bullshit do NOT get burned through, then much much worse is in the offing than just a recession: Despotism, and then a Civil War to try and overthrow it or leave it. The effects on everyone, including and espectially those living close to the edge will be catatrophic!

    Hey everybody. I’m haven’t been into the blogging scene these past few weeks, other than some no-brain one-liners from time to time, but I read you guys every day. Keep up the good work.

    Nice post, Yahoo. My 2 cents worth:

    The left’s hatred of me and other Conservatives gives me comfort that we have not become them. We can’t rest though, because there are too many former Conservatives who have sought the left’s comfort and now they are working tirelessly to to make us feel less comfortable about being Conservatives.

    I hope that seem like a bunch of gibberish. If I reread it, I would make changes and probably ruin it even more. Like I said: blogging hiatus.

    Wow…here’s Cheney’s response to the crap Obama and Holder are doing…AWESOME! How many media outlets will have the balls or integrity to print it?

    The documents released Monday clearly demonstrate that the individuals subjected to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques provided the bulk of intelligence we gained about al Qaeda. This intelligence saved lives and prevented terrorist attacks. These detainees also, according to the documents, played a role in nearly every capture of al Qaeda members and associates since 2002. The activities of the CIA in carrying out the policies of the Bush Administration were directly responsible for defeating all efforts by al Qaeda to launch further mass casualty attacks against the United States. The people involved deserve our gratitude. They do not deserve to be the targets of political investigations or prosecutions. President Obama’s decision to allow the Justice Department to investigate and possibly prosecute CIA personnel, and his decision to remove authority for interrogation from the CIA to the White House, serves as a reminder, if any were needed, of why so many Americans have doubts about this Administration’s ability to be responsible for our nation’s security.

    While I agree a double dip recession would wallop people, causing a second dose of pain, I unfortunately think it’s possible.

    For instance, the stock market’s sunny rise into the 9000’s just seems disingenuous. The deficit continues to grow and hover out on the horizon like a dark cloud waiting to descend on people. It is a plain and simple reality that our economic condition sucks, and is being artificially sustained by policies that will only make us “sicker” in the long run.

    I think the housing market is only treading water at the moment, and could sink even lower should any more economic bubbles burst.

    Monetarily we are so fragile.

    If we hadn’t gone the way of the stimlus and not had the government intervene as they have done, I think we would be in some kind of “recovery” stage now, like Japan and some European economies appear to be doing. But, that is not the case, and all the enabling has made us only more financially vulnerable in this unstable world of ours.

    Jan, I agree a double dip is certainly possible, but I just hope it doesn’t happen.

    One thing to keep our eyes on are the treasury auctions. The moment a treasury auction actually fails (ie. no buyers except the Fed through their proxies — the snake eating its tail) then the gig is up and it is time to head for the hills. The government will have two choices, either immediately close down 50% or more of the federal government or start running the printing presses full bore without any pretense the money is worth anything. Unfortunately, I think I know which choice they’ll make.

    Sarah never said death panels were explicitly described, as such or in other ways, in the Pelosi legislation. so the hysterical “widely debunked” claims on left (and, sadly, right) were straw men of the worst kind.

    She correctly pointed out that death panels were an inevitable consequence of Obama’s health care plan– as such rationing boards that take care away from those deemed not worthy, exist everywhere socialized medicine exists, and were explicitly described by Obama as his “independent panels” that would not be democratic but would make hard decisions for the people.

    Sarah was right. I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. Bring it.

    I watch Morris, not so much for his prognostication powers (slim at best), but he understands the interest blocs that make up the beast called Democrat and some of their inner thinking.

    However I could think it entirely possible to have a 100 seat loss for the Dims. But the stars have to align to do it. The double dip in the economy would have to occur early, HC dies causing the extreme left wing of the Dims to go into hyperventilation, CIR is brought forward and causes another furor with the public, the Reps pick conservative oriented congressional candidates, etc.

    Mission Accomplished for the Obama regime in re. the “2 TRILLION” increase in the deficit over ten years. They dropped it Friday…and now the ACTUAL annoucement is being treated by the media like something from some musty old history book. The lap dog media…and the lap they LOVE: Obama’s!

    It’s like living in parallel worlds, having a democratically biased media reporting on the events of the day.

    For instance, a figure reported, such as the uppage of $2 trillion in the deficit, has different meanings to our press, given the nature of who holds the WH at the time.

    In a republican administration —> It’s bad, bad, bad…..!

    In a democratic administration —> It’s yawn… huh, what’s the big deal!
