9.12.09 March On Washington
UPDATE again…HatTip Instapundit…great video
Updated: the crowd continues to grow. Here’s a livelink (thx DrDog!)
Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.
I know we all wish we could be there…but we’re here every day, and we’re getting the word out!
We’ve had enough of the out of control spending, the bailouts, the growth of big government and the soaring deficits. And we reject the future tax increases to pay for all of this spending and debt down the road.
Those who came to the Fevered Swamp early for the 9.12.09 March, spent Thursday and Friday visiting Congressional offices–that should have been interesting!
Saturday morning they will meet at Freedom Plaza and march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol and hold a rally at the West Front. It should be a good day for We the People and as for Congress, well, it’s time they were reminded that for power to be just, it must be derived from the consent of the governed!
The foundation of our Empire was not laid in the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition, but at an Epocha when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined, than at any former period.

[1]
I wanted to let you know I will be out the rest of the day. I have a couple of other threads scheduled to post automatically later. I apologize for not being able to talk!
[2]
“The foundation of our Empire was not laid in the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition, but at an Epocha when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined, than at any former period.”
Were ole George able to rise from the grave and survey the political landscape he might have added — “…than at any former period or future.”
[3]
Remember when the Dems wanted every nation on earth to approve of the Iraq invasion? Now, their God, Obama has agreed to drop multilateral talks with NK and make it easier on everyone by capitulating to the little punk directly.
What, no outrage from the left?
[4]
I pray the 9/12 March goes well…and has huge numbers. Whatever the numbers, we already know the media will estimate LOW and claim a failure because “5 times as many were expected”…or some such.
[5]
MDefl: “Now, their God, Obama has agreed to drop multilateral talks with NK and make it easier on everyone by capitulating to the little punk directly.”
You only THINK it’s “selective outrage” by the Left. In fact Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia!
you DO love Big Brother…don’t you, Mr. Smith??
[6]
Just,
Day by day, more are tuning out to the msm on TV and cancelling their newspaper subscritptions. The day is coming, very soon, where their lies will fall on deaf ears with the exception of the Kossacks.
[7]
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her
life and how things were so hard for her She did not know
how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was
tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem
was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots
with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots
came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second
she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee
beans . She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She
fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She
pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she
ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to
her daughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see.”
“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the
carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother
then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After
peeling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.
The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The
daughter then asked, “What does it mean, mother?”
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced
the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However,
after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and
became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell
had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through
the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground
coffee beans were unique, however.. After they were in the
boiling water, they had changed the water.
“Which are you?” she asked her daughter.
“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you
respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?”
If you wilt under adversity then you are the carrot. If you become hard and bitter then you are the egg. If you arise and alter the circumstances of the adversity before you then you are the coffee bean.
So which shall you be today?
[8]
excellent parable, drdog…snarky jokes about finishing my coffee aside, here’s my actual answer:
I’ve never been a “carrot”…it’s not in my genes.
I used to be the “egg”…and some things do still “harden my heart”
I’ve always loved to debate, discuss…whatever. I am a student of history, and love to base my “debating points” on facts and historical precedents and/or analogies. But unless the situation came up to have such a discussion I pretty much just went about my life.
Then a few years ago I became the “coffee beans”…this site is one of the manifestations of that change. We ALL need to be “coffee beans”…or we’ll wind up squashed carrots!!
[9]
For those that want to SEE the Tea Party in DC go to this link — http://www.trafficland.com/city/WAS/?rsid=weatherbug.
You should see 14th and E street in the left corner. Click to get the stream.
[10]
thx for the link, drdog.
Eerie…the pictures look EXACTLY like the pictures that came out of Tehran after the faux “election”. Exactly.
the outrage is the same. I hope our very own Imadinnerjacket doesn’t react the same.
[11]
In my estimation, we need a minimum of 100,000 to be successful.
Any other thoughts on crowd size?
[12]
the crowd is already huge…and the rally itself doesn’t start until a bit later I think.
[13]
In my estimation, we need a minimum of 100,000 to be successful
fedupartist
The jack booted ditchcarp could care less, as they will do what they want anyway, representative gubmit be damned. They have waited too long to grab the brass ring, to give up now.
Bend over grab ankles~~~WBS~~~
[14]
Well do the math. If the average American consumes a space 1×2′. The city block are 700′x72′. I figure 4 lanes plus sidewalks for the 72′. The crowd looks to be about 8 blocks long.
So from from just what is in camera view is over 200k people.
[15]
Is there an official rally time?
[16]
Bend over grab ankles …
I prefer to bend over and grab my gun thank you.
[17]
BTW, Great link Dog.
[18]
fedup,
At the same site, there is another camera more at a ground level that points to Pennsylvania and 9nw. You can see the crowd going by.
[19]
I’ll look for it.
[20]
I heard Beck will be there??
Is he going to address the crowd??
[21]
Someone said MSNBC already reported over 100,000 and it’s still early.
[22]
fedup,
Are you HD at HHR?
[23]
Yes!
[24]
Awfully big crowd. The head of the crowd is just now reaching the capital building. They fill the length of Penn Av. and I have yet to see the tail end of the march yet.
[25]
Are you really an artist? If yes, what type?
[26]
No. Not even close!
My wife is a graphic artist.
[27]
Dog, Are you thinking this tops 200,000?
[28]
yeah. That crowd looks huge. I should be there.
Going into the office for a couple hours….
Gonna be outside later today, running the tools and cutting boards, if it doesn’t rain. Cutting out cabinets, and some custom add-ons for my boys’ playcenter, we are trying to make it look like a pirate ship and add some extra swings.
I love the sound of a saw cutting wood. Trees are useful for so many things. Making furniture is one of the best.
“Got wood?”
[29]
MDEFL, I thought you were going to DC??
[30]
Got Wood?
Knot now, but next weekend!
[31]
No – daughter’s first Soccer game today (which wound up being cancelled) and I have some stuff in the office that I have to get done today. I am on the road 3 days next week and for all or parts of the next 7 weeks.
This is the problem with being a conservative. We tend to work for a living.
[32]
Well, we do when the economy is not destroyed. I know a lot of good men out of work, and for some it’s their 3rd year.
I am so lucky. I was let go in June of 2008, and found work in 2 weeks. Good deal, too. Very fortunate. I have to go to an office now, but hey, no complaints.
[33]
Artist, I think it does. I can’t get a camera angle that points directly to the capital which would help a lot.
JR, if you’re still there. I pulled some screen caps if you want to use them for a post. I don’t have embed rights.

I know conservatives who have been laid off from their jobs. The 1 thing they all have in common is that they find ways to provide support even if it is not in their chosen profession.
I know one guy who is now working as a bartender under the table and is delivering Pizza for a mom and pop shop on nights when he is not bartending. He went from 6 figures to $5 or $6 hundred a week. His wife picked up a job. They are making it through.
[35]
#15 here’s the schedule from the 912dc.org site:
Saturday, 9-12
9:00am Crowd gathers at Freedom Plaza
11:30am March on the Capitol Begins down Pennsylvania Ave. (See Map)
1:00pm March ends and Rally Begins at West Front of the U.S. Capitol
[36]
RWY,
Nice drop-in at HHR yesterday. I don’t read her posts but I am 100% in how she responded. Nice work.
[37]
Holy crap!!!! That looks like WAY more than 100k. Is anyone going to post live?
[38]
100% certain. You know what I meant.
[39]
MD – successful people do what unsuccessful people won’t
[40]
OK – have to get some work done. Check in later.
[41]
Hey checking in, thanks for covering the event.
[42]
At one point the crowd stretches the LENGTH of street from 14th and E to the Capital. Can someone figure what that distance is?
[43]
I am not a conspiracy type but I cannot find single channel on TV covering this. Nor can I find any webcams that point to the capital bldg in operation. Hmmmm.
[44]
Words of wisdon from an 8 yr old! I’ve been talking to my son about the march, mostly saying that the people are going to DC because the gov’t won’t listen to us and we are mad. So I was looking at the traffic cam just now and my son came over. I told him that was the march I told him about. He said do those people have guns? I said no. So he said, well the gov’t better listen now before they go back and get some!!
[45]
Hi Tina!
[46]
This is a poster from MM’s site, can anyone verify this?
………
DC police estimates 1,200,000 so far!
[47]
JR,
Here a doggies estimate –
E St&14th to Penna Ave — 200ft
Penna Ave to Capital — 4000ft
Very unscientific. I used the scale on google maps and my wife’s sewing tape.
[48]
WHOA! GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
[49]
DC police estimates 1,200,000 so far!–fedup
It’s amazing that so many people in so little of time could be so against one person–Obama.
It is good to see that so many people care about this country. This gives me new hope that we may be saved, yet. However, I am still saddened that we need to be saved in the first place.
“It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.”
[50]
RWY,
Nice drop-in at HHR yesterday. I don’t read her posts but I am 100% in how she responded. Nice work.
Thanks, we have to keep the floors clean, right?
[51]
I guess Glenn Beck will start covering it live at 1:00 Eastern time…a little over an hour from now.
But yup, the rest of the media will do ALL they can to cover NONE of it! (except to ridcule it, of course)
Still, the Pols in D.C. really do KNOW the truth…that’s why they’re so good at covering it up!

Obama Administration Issues No Response to Slaying of Pro-Life Advocate

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — The administration of President Barack Obama was quick to respond to the shooting death of late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller. But, when it comes to the murder of a pro-life advocate urging students at a Michigan high school, the Obama administration hasn’t said a word.
LifeNews.com has searched the daily press releases from administration officials, the White House website, mainstream media stories on the shooting, and news search engines.
The search reveals the Obama administration has been silent on the Friday shooting death of pro-life advocate Jim Pouillon by an abortion advocate who was upset that he protested abortion outside a local high school.
LifeNews.com sent an email to Obama’s press and faith offices hours after the shooting looking for reaction and never received a reply.
[54]
1.2 million is a great crowd. It could be 5 million or more, if everyone stopped, dropped, and drove.
I am a sissy for not going. I ended up not being able to miss any work, bah. Can’t do anything to piss off employers in this environment, for sure.
[55]
Brandon and TB! Sweet.
[56]
drdog
Many thanks today for your “Carrot, Egg & Coffee” story. I saved it on my computer!
The link for today’s 9/12 event is incredible!!! I don’t understand your “people estimates” in post #47. Could you explain.
[57]
When does C-Span live coverage start?
[58]
Yeah, eph. Tears for Tiller, threats and shouts from all over the papers, and silence now.
I heard another was killed unrelated. Any chance this was random?
[59]
1 PM. Beck will also be covering it on FOX at 1 PM.
[60]
Free Chek!
Brandon, she is all yours. Enjoy, big fella.
[61]
And Brandon,
You know you want her money
you know you think she’s sexy,
Come on honey, let her know…..
[62]
I wish I was at the rally today!!!!!
[63]
rwy,
Talking to Lisab, huh?
A couple of months ago she claimed that Lisab was her home girl and that Judy “got her”. What a complete loser.
[64]
Brandon, sorry man…..she isn’t comin back. She can get a new IP every day, and the result will be the same.
[65]
Wait, does Brandon want Chek free or does he approve that we have been Chek free?
[66]
Brandon,
Wilson apologized. What else do you want him to do?
I, for one, love the fact that we are finally playing by the Alinsky rules. Bout time.
[67]
Tony,
He likes her.
[68]
65. Tony is now #1 on the greatest Gravatar list!
[69]
Brandon is all about Chekote. He’s ahh, nevermind….
[70]
“She can get a new IP every day, and the result will be the same.”
HEH!
[71]
Wednesday-Friday: OUTRAGE by the Dems and the media over Joe Wilson saying the President was lying about the Bills before Congress, and what they would or would NOT do to bar illegal residents.
Saturday morning: White House and Senate work to repair Obama’s lie! Yup, they’re “fixing” the Bill to try and make it do what Obama said it did in the first place!
Thx, Joe Wilson. Bad decorum…good result!
[72]
Jan,
47 was responding to JR’s query in 42 on the distance between 14&E st to the capital. I just fired up google maps and measured it off on the screen. I could have gotten fancier and done a google route and had it tell me the distance. The march is 14&E then a turn to the length of Penna ave that terminates at the circle in front of the capital building.
Glad you liked the parable.
[73]
It’s like being bulletproof. Feels good! Good for you! Good for me! Mmmm Good!
[74]
Brandon, what’s the mood like on college campuses these days???
[75]
I don’t care what the left does. By yelling out like that, you are disrespecting the office of the presidency. I just fail to see why he is such a “hero.”
[76]
CT,
Hmm, you sure he’s not advocating electronic banking??
[77]
Wait a minute! Didn’t someone at HHR tell me that her banning here was by her own choice?
BTW – my library thing worked out. 20 new conservative videos will be ordered over a 4 week period.
We threated a tea party and total exposure. More details later. It WAS funny. Turned into a late night at Sullivan’s with steaks, wine and a little Jamesons to wash it all down.
[78]
Chekote is using Brandon’s tag!!!!
[79]
I agree. Not only did he apologize, but he was actually correct in his calling Obama a liar in the first place- he was lying! Would the entire rep side of the aisle booing Obama, and refusing to stand when the other side is clapping and cheering have been a better alternative?
[80]
We have had a 240% increase in membership in our College Republicans over last year, so take that for what its worth. Conservatives are out there, we just need to give them a venue to express themselves.
[81]
Fox is now covering the march.
[82]
That is excellent, Brandon! The Kool-Aid haze is wearing off!
[83]
DD
Penalty for early withdrawal, of course.
[84]
What the heck? Tommy Boy and now Brandon too?
Hmmmm
[85]
Brandon,
Bush being booed by Dems in congress. Being called Hitler. I hope it happens everytime that POS calls us liars. Why should we have to take it when the other side gives that pos a standing ovation when he is lying?
Your type of attitude is the reason we are in this fix. I love Wilson and already gave him $.
[86]
Well when they do Brandon, maybe you shouldn’t assume that they are just going along with the crowd
[87]
Wilson apologized. What else do you want him to do?
Brandon is on our side, but you have to consider his background, he is not very conservative and does not really see the left as a threat, from what I gather.
When he came here the first time, he said the Rs needed to offer free education and health care a a right, and did not expect the Rs to win again until they did. As ususal, arguments by us regarding liberty, the constitution, and responsibility were scoffed at.
Maybe it’s because he is from NJ, I don’t know. He’s just not that conservative, maybe a real independent. Sees government as a force for virtue and goodness, despite all the evidence to the contrary.
I, for one, love the fact that we are finally playing by the Alinsky rules. Bout time.
Hell yeah. Sic em, doggy. Maybe the left should be glad we are drawing the line at ol’ Saul. Could be worse.
[88]
I am watching the Fox streaming video of the march. Great turnout! Does my heart good!
[89]
I don’t care what the left does. By yelling out like that, you are disrespecting the office of the presidency. I just fail to see why he is such a “hero.”~~brandon
The numbnuts that presently resides in said office, disrespected it the day he walked into it. Joe Wilson had the balls to say what a majority the sheeple think anyway. Were you as outraged at the dems when they booed Bush under the same settings. (P.S. please don’t breed with you know who.)
[90]
James O’Keefe, another American hero tells CNN to stick it. I missed a lot in the last 12-18 hours!
[91]
You always misrepresent what I said. I said college needs to be made more affordable and that we should try to find a way to insure those who really cannot afford insurance and need it.
[92]
amazing pics of the CA wildfires.
[93]
RWY,
No – he is a true Republican. 3 weeks ago, I re-registered as an independent because his attitude is prevalent within that party. I probably will still vote R since the D’s are basically communists now but, as a former squishy R, I just can’t take it anymore.
The beginning of the end for me was when the squishy R’s not only did not defend Sarah Palin but jumped right on the msm bandwagon. McAmnesty only confirmed my feelings.
[94]
Democrats and the MSM, the classic example of the double standard.
[95]
MD, don’t get me started on McCain. I’m just happy to see that his campaign finance reform legislation looks like it is going to go down in flames. Hopefully the ruling comes soon.
[96]
I was registered as Independent until about April of this year, and then changed before the June Primary.
[97]
Phoenix,
A lot of R’s are just as bad.
[98]
You always misrepresent what I said. I said college needs to be made more affordable and that we should try to find a way to insure those who really cannot afford insurance and need it. brandon
“made more affordable”====IE: make someone else pay for it.
“try to find a way to insure”==make someone else pay for it.
(who is this “we” shit kemosabi)????
[99]
“I, for one, love the fact that we are finally playing by the Alinsky rules. Bout time.”
AMEN!
[100]
As a small tribute to Joe Wilson, I’m going to fix some of the “lies” appearing on the Drudge Report.
I wholeheartedly apologize to Matt Drudge. . . . .

[101]
“We” as in “our country.”
[102]
McCain/Feingold was not only an insult to the 1st Amendment but was actually slanted in the left’s favor. The irony was that McCain/Feingold is one of, but certainly not the only thing, that hurt McAmnestly in the election.
Thank God we had Palin. Otherwise, the Dems would have veto proof house and 65 Senators.
[103]
CNN: Sizable crowd, larger than anticipated.
[104]
Fox News is carrying this live on the web
[105]
Wilson told the trusth, Brandon. Obama was the one “disrespecting” the office by lying.
And what is this “disrespecting” crap? You from the hood or something?
[106]
Don’t misunderstand. I know that Obama would never veto anything this House would pass.
Hopefully in 2010 that changes.
[107]
I know MD, but McCain is the picture boy of those Bad R’s
[108]
We” as in “our country.” ~~brandon
My “country” doesn’t own the fruits of my labor.
YOU of course can help whoever you want with your own cash,
but stay out of my pocket comrade.
[109]
Keep them off balance and disorient them. Bring them outside their comfort zone.
[110]
McCain/Feingold was not only an insult to the 1st Amendment but was actually slanted in the left’s favor. The irony was that McCain/Feingold is one of, but certainly not the only thing, that hurt McAmnestly in the election.
Right on. They pounced on it first, while our side was so sure it was unconstitutional, we waited for the court. Then we got the shockah, and had to start way behind.
[111]
[112]
Who is James O’Keefe? Pardon my ignorance.
[113]
See the size of the crowd already? Watch…..the left will call it 200 people tops.
[114]
He was the film maker who busted ACORN with the undercover sting.
[115]
Dammit. Raining outside. Bugger that. All week long while I was at work, the bloody weather was dry. The one day I can work outside: Rain.
Democrats.
[116]
JM — Great picture above!
[117]
Just Mary,
Can I post from a blackberry? I travel for work and have not been able to do so. I love the site and read all the comments though.

[119]
Phx,
I saw him on Hannity last night but the TV was in Sullivans and had no sound!
[120]
Brandon, I actually agree that Wilson’s, um, “decorum” was not what it maybe shoulda been…but that’s just because WE are not the Left.
They did “Boo!” Bush loud and lustily…as a GROUP during a State of the Union speech. And not.one.peep from the media!
Our current Veep, Joey Biden, SAT THERE during that lusty booing, and yet NOW he feels ONE MAN, saying TWO WORDS “demeans that sacred chamber” (HIS words). Obvious bullshit.
But we are NOT the barbarians…so yeah, we do need to show some class.
ALL THAT SAID…as a result of the spotlight Wilson shed on the topic of Illegal Aliens being covered, the Senate and the White House are ONLY NOW working to fix it (though they’ll break it again when no one is looking)
like I said, bad decorum = good result in this case
[121]
I feel a Lee Greenwood song brewing.
[122]
MDefl- I used to post here from my blackberry, but mine only had basic internet capabilities. It was a pain in the neck, but it worked. I use my iphone now, and it is much easier.

[126]
I WISH I WAS THERE~~
[127]
Thanks JM. I’ll keep trying. The bberry is from work and is free. I don’t want to pay for an Iphone. Cuts into my Sullivan’s Steak House budget.
[128]
Wilson is to be a guest on Sun w/C Wallace tomorrow.
[129]
NEW THREAD PLEASE! HAHAHAHAHAHA
[130]
The left will try to use the rally to elevate Obama.
“Obviously, the economy is picking up steam. Look at the size of this crowd. We’re hearing reports that most of them flew in from around the country. What the cost for a round-trip ticket, airline ticket, hotel room, and rental car for a couple of days? These people have Obama to thank for their ability to afford all of this.”
[131]
I WANT my country back!!!!
[132]
Wilson should run for Senate against RINO
[133]
JM, your twitpic is hot. Click on it and it expands. Pretty cool.
[134]
[135]
I didn’t know that, drdog. Cool feature! Ah well….
[136]
Free Chek!
A BIG thumbs down on that. Keep an eye for sock puppets.
RWY, your stalker is back at PP. It’s aura.
[137]
One thing is certain: Obama didn’t hire enough SEIU thugs, otherwise they would be out in force.
(Size of crowd + 1) = Number of SEIU thugs to bus in.
[138]
The fox live feed looks like a bunch of racist white people.
[139]
I saw that. I won’t post there anymore.
[140]
They are all just teabagging rednecks, duh.
[141]
JM,
Things are going to get even neater in the near future. WiMax is being rolled out in many cities now. 6mbps down, 1mbps up anywhere you are in range of the network. If DC had that in place for the march somebody could have done a live stream the length of the march live. We live in interesting times.
[142]
They are all just teabagging rednecks, duh.
You should annotate your snarks.
[143]
Talk about knowledge increasing, eh drdog?
[144]
(Size of crowd + 1) = Number of SEIU thugs to bus in.
(Size of crowd + 1) = Number of Texas Rangers to control the crowd = 1
(Size of crowd + 1) = Number of persons to get the crowd fired up? = 1 Glenn Beck.
[145]
FWIW:
michellemalkin RT @pinkelephantpun: ABC reporting 2 million people #912
[146]
DD,
Wimax is indeed interesting. The small town where I live asked me to look into ideas for making the entire downtown section of the town wireless. With Wimax, virtually the whole town could’ve gone that route and paid for itself in a very short amount of time.
[147]
2 mil? NICE!
[148]
Is Beck scheduled to speak?
[149]
Not a mention of the march on Drudge!
[150]
CT,
Yes indeed. Did they go through with the proposal?
What generally presents itself as problem is the backhaul to get to a network node. Its not economic for a single city to foster, it takes several small towns for traffic to be large enough to pay for it. A lot of coordination effort.
[151]
BCL, He will.
He’ll do a huge splash.
[152]
CT,
I understand Beck is to be there.
[153]
JM, no wonder the Dems were worried about the size of this thing. Big, BIG PR victory for conservatives.
[154]
Gotta go order steel for my fence project.
[155]
Steel?
[156]
While millions march on DC, the screaming headline on CNN is….
wait for it…
a random phrase from Obama’s radio address “Obama: ‘Anyone’ can go without health insurance”.
Brandon, still think we have to be polite to get the truth out?
[157]
Hmm. Looks like Beck is not going to be there. Can’t if he’s in NY studio.
[158]
bumping my own post from HHR:
On Wilson, just think about this. The silent majority is being run over BECAUSE they are silent. As we go about our daily lives, others assume that we are sheeple b/c we aren’t saying anything. We are getting run over and the gov’t has increased in power b/c we have let them by doing nothing. Any even now that we are waking up, we still don’t have a leader b/c we have turned into a crowd of polite followers. I for one am glad that he screamed and unless a lot of other people start screaming with him, we are going to get sheepled politely off a cliff. GO JOE!
[159]
live feed it takes a minute to load.
[160]
AMEN, TLS!!!!!
[161]
IP, good find.
[162]
It looks like they don’t need me. I had a race this morning and after getting cleaned up drove 30 miles to the Vienna Metro stop (last one in the VA suburbs) All of the parking was gone and there were at least 2000, normal working fols waiting for the trains. Metro in its government wisdom looks like they are running 4 car trains at 20 minutes, instead of the 6 car trains at 12 minutes that they will run for other special events…like Redskins games.
I really wanted to be a part of this.
[163]
Heh. I just saw a sign on the live feed — “You Lie!”.
[164]
DD,
I think the costs for Wimax were too prohibitive for them. I gave them two other ideas, one I thought they would run with was just making one small area of town wireless then building on that during subsequent years. They were looking for ideas to bring more people into our town of 3000.
There were a lot of towns and cities I researched around the world that went the wirless route, and by all means they were successful. But there has to be something about the area that attracts people to the area in the first place. Seattle was one of the areas that seems to fit the “wireless city” idea.
[165]
Oh oh. The references to God and the Bible won’t sit well with shewhowillnotbenamed.
[166]
RAS = 49%
WHERE IS THE BOUNCE??????????????
[167]
165. Who mean “?”
[168]
CT,
Here in the middle of the US, the draw is the peace and quiet and living cost anywhere from 1/2 to a 1/3rd less than the coasts.
I have had consultations with 2 phone coops in OK on replacing their aging switch gear. Both proposals were to go wireless and VoIP, and work a deal with a gateway-pstn provider.
[169]
the size of that crowd was EASILY over 500,000…and some estimates have it above 1,000,000. Look for the media to describe this as “Several thousand”.
[170]
169. Bingo! Check out http://www.ABCnews.com
[171]
I’m surprised they didn’t say hundreds.
[172]
Most def 500k+ looks like probably 1m+ , 2m may be high but could be if they include the march, hard to say without aerial shots. If the cops say 1.2+ I take that.
[173]
JM MSM will use obama health care math to count crowd size.
[174]
I must have the same stalker at HHR, huh. Anything happening on FNC about this?
[175]

[176]
[177]
Faux news had it in the thousands. What does that mean??? Sorry, they irritate me a lot too.
[178]
You beat me to it, KH!
Tell the truth!!! Too cool.
[179]
That reporter, as she started speaking, began with the classic liberal head bobb- saying that I’m superior to you.
[180]
WASHINGTON (AP) – Thousands of people marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, carrying signs with slogans such as “Obamacare makes me sick” as they protested the president’s health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.
—-
As predicted by all…. “thousands” instead of hundreds of thousands.
[181]
Wow! CNN actually is covering the march?
Look for Obama’s numbers to sink even lower.
[182]
I just loved the lady in the studio…..warning….there might be yelling. Now for you DU kids, go upstairs from the basement and ask your mommy to make you some hot cocoa and watch this video with you. Big meanies! Twying to make you affeared in your wittle hearts!
[183]
Actually they looked like they were trying to cover the wilson story with the tea party as a backdrop. BTW I will give CNN a little credit for carrying the acorn stuff yesterday, other than Fox they were the only ones I saw.
[184]
nice line.
“It’s the Constitution stupid!”
[185]
My day is booked with kid sports today, but I’m enjoying following the coverage on this site from my iPhone. Keep it up!
BTW, I would love to see Wilson address the chamber this week, then refuse to apologize (he already apologized to the offended party, Obama) and then proceed to give a Jack Nickelson style “You Can’t Handle The Truth” speech to the chamber. Conservatives would go crazy and the Dems would go ballistic.
[186]
btw right march blog guy after talking about it’s the constitution stupid, went into a couple lines about “They lie!!”, then thanked Joe Wilson for telling the truth, crowd let out huge cheer.
[187]
It appeared to be that they were really trying to give a bad impression of the tea party by saying Wilson acted inappropriately and look here, these people are doing the same thing.
[188]
Great coverage, btw, maybe repost this threat at the top though??? Anyway, just a suggestion, you guys are on it.
[189]
i just put a new video at the top of this post…good stuff! (unless you’re Obama, of course)
[190]
“If you wilt under adversity then you are the carrot. If you become hard and bitter then you are the egg. If you arise and alter the circumstances of the adversity before you then you are the coffee bean.
So which shall you be today?”
i am the boiling water
[191]
I was actually just thinking I should make this thread sticky until Poetry Night tonight.
[192]
We need to start selling shirts with this:
You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote it out.
Have the Obumbler’s picture on it.
[193]
[194]
That video was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I wish I was there!!!!!
[195]
Just remember, thru all the struggle and strife, the politics, the stupidity, your dog has the answer.
[196]
one wonders what the ratio is between those who went to wash. and those who feel the same way but stayed home???
[197]
Oh I would say at least as many (if not more) wanted to be there as did attend, IP. Takes money though. Plane tickets/gas, lodging, food, time off work, etc.
[198]
What should tonight’s Pithy Poetry Night theme be?
[199]
Tina: “You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote it out.”
I LOVE the t-shirt idea!!!!
and as for Poetry night…ya better settle on it quick, ’cause I need a LOT of “ramp up” time!!
How ’bout something based on Tina’s t-shirt idea…i.e. DRAINING THE SWAMP!!
[200]
Probably at least 10:1
[201]
Draining the swamp it is, unless you think of something else before 4pm.
[202]
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/53857
[203]
one wonders what the ratio is between those who went to wash. and those who feel the same way but stayed home???
I would guess somewhere between 50 to 1 and 100 to 1.
[204]

[205]
SWEET! Go Joe!
[206]
Eph, I won’t link it but I did read an article at kos about why jews vote dem.
[207]
I dont need to see the link to know why sharp.
Why do you think “?” talks about hanging out wit her Jewish friends so much???

[210]
I would guess somewhere between 50 to 1 and 100 to 1.
The important question is what percentage wanted to bring pitchforks, tar and feathers.
[211]
I have to give WaPo credit here, they pretty much used this entire article to quote a number of protestors, letting them define the event today in their own words. Good idea.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/12/AR2009091200971_pf.html
[212]
For everyone there I would guess at least 75 feel the same way, which in effect makes the “crowd” much larger from a political impact perspective. IMHO
[213]
How are all the people going to go to the bathroom????
[214]
How are all the people going to go to the bathroom????
Not all at once I hope.
[215]
I really hope all of our new posters will join us at 4 for poetry night! I have already started writing some, so the theme of Draining the Swamp sticks!
[216]
You would think they would have porta potties there.
[217]
They probably have the new visitor center open for such purposes. I hope every one of those marches walked by Harry Reids’ office just so they could stink up the place!
[218]
They can just go where they are standing, as the regular residents there, wouldn’t know the difference.
[219]
so the theme of Draining the Swamp sticks~~JM
What if one wanders a bit from the theme
Only so much can be said about a swamp. Or llamas
[220]
heh #218
[221]
Wandering from the theme will not cost you any imaginary points, IP.
[222]
Swamp=Congress

2 million march on washington.
the current CNN headline is…
wait for it…
“Thousands honor 2 killed in California wildfire”
guess they got flak for their previous headline, which was a random snippet from Obama’s weekly address.
They probably calculated this would be the headline most likely to disarm conservatives.
I obviously have no problem honoring those firefighters.
But 2 million marching on washington?
vs thousands honoring firemen?
Shameless, manipulative fraudsters.
Evil and corrupt.
[225]
NRO’s Corner take on the Tea Party.
[226]
God Bless them.
[227]
The 9.12 march in time lapse
[228]
Wow, there is no reference on my Yahoo home page to the DC rally. But there is a picture of the Marxist at a rally warning opponents of his bill. God, what shameless charlatans.
[229]
brucefdb, I switched to BING this weekend. I am through with Yahoo FOREVER!
[230]
God Bless the USA!
