In Defense of Life: The Pro-Life Movement
Calls Obama Out

2009 September 12

“If you misrepresent what is in this plan, we will call you out.”

Jill Stanek has been calling Obama out in defense of life since his days in the Illinois legislature.  She has continued to do so and is focused on HR 3200 and Obama’s misrepresentation of what is in this plan.  This is from information sent to Jill Stanek by a congressional staffer (her emphasis except for Obama–who I emphasized!) regarding Obama’s speech last Wednesday:

Regarding funding for abortion, Obama’s statement does nothing to resolve pro-life opposition to the bill unless it is backed by clear language like the Stupak/Pitts amendment to permanently prohibit funding for abortion and federal subsidies for plans that include abortion.

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have all endorsed the faulty claim that the Capps amendment included in… HR 3200 does not allow federally-funded abortion.

Yet that amendment explicitly permits government funding for abortion in the public plan and allows government subsidies to pay for private insurance coverage that includes abortion. If the President is referring to the Capps amendment, or something like it, his comment tonight will do nothing to change the debate.

Stop The Abortion Mandate calls the bill, FOCA By Stealth (F.O.C.A.:  Freedom of Choice Act):

Making abortion a fundamental right, through mandates and taxpayer-funding of abortion, is the cornerstone of F.O.C.A. It’s also a vital part of the new healthcare reform legislation, according to President Obama.

In 2007, Obama said, “…in my mind reproductive care is essential care, basic care so it is at the center, the heart of the plan I propose…”

They have a point by point comparison of F.O.C.A. and the Health Care Bill and state:

If the healthcare bill is passed, similar results will occur as if F.O.C.A was signed into law

Not to be flip, and I hate abortion on moral grounds. But as a tactical matter liberals abort at much higher rates than conservatives. So if you can’t elect them out, we can breed them out.

Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

I have thought about that too, drdog. % wise, homosexuals, and those who are more likely to abort reside in the dem corner. They are shrinking their own base, which is why they have to go after other people’s kids, read: schools. Or schoochildren, as the obama camp calls them.

That I have lived to see this day

My tax dollars used to murder helpless innocent children

With a savagery that would shame a serial killer

    JustMary,

Imagine this…someday researchers discover a “gay” gene in unborn children at very early stages of development.

    Talk about a gay holocaust!
