    Is America coming apart?

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=109478

I say, yes, and nothing can stop it. It is a sad thing, but necessary and unstoppable, as the left and right can no longer get along. I have thought this way since 2004. The idea that that election could have been within 10 points was a real shock, and a harbinger of the unbridgeable divide.

The last of the gold bears have given up. Barrick Gold, a major producer, is raising $4 billion through a stock issuance to buy out the last of its gold hedges.

This is seen by many as a bullish sign for gold, along with a collapsing dollar and the accumulation of gold bullion by China.

Gold is now hovering just under $1,000 an ounce.

Will it break through to new highs? Who knows, it may be a play to the upside.

    Keep spending and printing, Obammy.

I presume everyone knows where carbon taxes are going to end up. Eventually that will be the means by which the UN funds itself. The ‘carbon problem’ will be deemed global in nature requiring a global solution and only the UN can manage it.

Forty percent of the volume is comprised of four used dogfood stocks, just as we’ve seen for the last couple of weeks – all people passing shares back and forth among each other, many of it being “computer HFT games.”

    and

This just goes to illustrate – the market is currently being levitated on literal trash. Again today we see the Casino trying to suck in people; I got emails from two more associates over the weekend telling me that their “advisors” are telling them “you have too much cash allocated; now is the time to buy.”

Now is the time to buy, after a 50% move?!

Hey, I’m happy for all those who took the risk in March and are up 50%. I never thought it would last this long, I thought it would be an 8-10 week rally and be over in May or June.

But for God’s sake. What is is BASED ON??????

I believe it is based on garbage. Bailouts and printed cash. As soon as that goes, the indexes go with it.

Now, if Obama is somehow stopped before we hoist the hammer and sickle, say if an R house get elected and none of amnesty/carbon caps/healthcare pass, then yeah, up we go.

So maybe that’s priced in with all the other stuff. But it’s a gamble.

When it gets to 12,000 again, let me know, and I will jump back in.

O/T but Joe ‘you lied’ Wilson is a 5th term R that won in a bad year last time with 54% of the vote. He is gonna get a lot of money and a lot of attention….in fact, if you havent given to him do so. This is a way we can send a message to the McVain (left)wing of the R party. He will win easily and I really hope Sarah campaigns for him.

RWY…..the market as I have said was way oversold during the downside panic selling….all this is normal. I am no longer long any stocks and have started taking some short positions, but there is no reason for the market to crash bigtime yet…..and perhaps it is smarter than we are….maybe it knows the Dems will get clobbered in 2010. And the Bush tax cuts dont expire until 2011….there is tons of liquidity in the market. This stuff will all take care of itself….dont depend on the market fulfilling your political desires….it just doesnt work that way.

    I like this guy’s comment:

The US and Chinese govts have become true fellow travellers. We have policy convergence.
    1. Both view financial markets as institutions to be wilfully and ruthlessly manipulated for the benefit of corrupt reigning elites. They have becomes means of State policy for directing the flow of capital to the politically favored ; as tools for stealing from Little money and giving to Big money.
True financial markets always seek to disrupt the status quo for the benefit of the many; false markets are used to preserve it for the benefit of the few. Both Govts abhor true transparent, competitive, innovative and ethical markets. Wall St adores both Govts.
    2. The creation of multiple bubbles is now the central economic tenet of both governing elites. However, in mid 2009, the multiple bubbles are compressing faster than the Govts can propagate them.
    3. Both Govts view the ordinary citizen with contempt. Both use manifestly false “statistics”, propaganda and economic vapors to delude and control citizens
    4. Both Govts view and use the MSM as complicit and fawning arms of the State

I’m in with brucefdb on this. To my detriment I rode the market down last fall because I was too afraid to counter the advice of my financial adviser. Needless to say I fired his ass and have been doing all my investing on my own since last November. It was just a matter of luck that I happened to have 25% out of the market and in cash at the time for other purposes. That being said, I’m very happy I didn’t get cold feet and bail out near the bottom. I certainly haven’t regained everything, but things look MUCH better than when the DOW lows were in the 6,000s.

Will the market go up or down? I don’t know. I’m just keeping an eye on things and am much better prepared to pull the trigger if things look very wobbly again. Things do look wobbly now, but not enough to scare me out yet.

My intuition tells me that the market is assuming that Obama’s agenda will fail. I say this only because the worse the news is for him, the better the market responds. If he starts succeeded (shutter) then we’ll see if the market behaves accordingly and tanks.

#14 Minuteman PAC is already raising money for Joe Wilson. Here’s from their email:

Rep. Wilson is an immigration attorney in South Carolina AND he helped push amendments to the health care bill that would have expressly prevented coverage for illegal aliens …
… but the Democrats in the House killed those amendments.

This begs a question: If illegal aliens aren’t going to be covered by ObamaCare, then what’s the harm in specifically prohibiting it?

We all know the answer to that question: BECAUSE THEY’RE LYING!!!

    Pure and simple.

Friends, it’s in times like these that our patriotism and belief in our republic are put to the test. Let’s not fail this test. Let’s not fail Joe Wilson. Join us in ensuring his re-election now!

Finally, an honest man! Joe Wilson (R-SC) couldn’t sit still another minute with all the lies coming from the podium last night–especially when he heard the President say illegals wouldn’t be getting health insurance. What a whopper!

And we have to make certain the few brave Republicans fighting this mess-especially my friend, Joe Wilson, have our support. I’ve been told that Joe Wilson’s Democratic opponent raised over three hundred thousand dollars today because of his remark.

Well, let me promise you that Team America and I will be doing everything possible to make certain Joe is returned to Congress along with others like him.
