While Barack Obama talks wistfully about a world without nukes and cuts back this country’s defenses, the rest of the world is arming itself.

Well bc, numbers are a great way to distort the picture! The disparity in the pollsters samples can skew the outcome any way they want.
It’s the same way with unemployment numbers being reflective of only what is shown in a sample. If you included a broader scope of the people unemployed, including people who have “given up,” people whose hours have been cut back to avoid being “let go,” and involuntarily part timers the figure would be much higher than the current one — more like 16%>
