Poll: 89% Believe Media Helped Promote, Support Obama

In a previous thread, MI Conservative cited a CBS News poll on president Obama’s approval rating. The sampling gave the Democrats a 15% advantage, while Gallup polls that are three weeks old indicate there’s only a 7% gap.

Here are the results of a poll by Sacred Heart University that illustrates Americans realiize the media is slanting the news. It received coverage on FNC News and Lou Dobbs, but I imagine it will be ignored by the rest of MSM. People are starting to catch on. When will they start doing something about it?

It’s not just conservatives who accuse the media of showing a liberal bias.

A new survey from the Sacred Heart University Polling Institute shows that 89.3 percent of Americans believe the national media played a sizable role in helping to elect President Obama.

And 69.9 percent of respondents view the national news media as intent on promoting the Obama presidency, while 26.5 percent disagreed, and 3.6 percent were unsure.

More than half of those surveyed, 56.4 percent, said the news media are promoting Obama’s healthcare reform without objective criticism. Another 39.3 percent disagreed, and 4.3 percent were unsure.

A majority, to the tune of 57.6 percent, also maintain that the news media appear to be coordinating efforts to diminish the record of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. More than a third (34.6 percent) disagreed, and 7.9 percent were unsure.

“It is sad when we find that only 55.9 percent say they expect the media to tell them the truth today,” Jerry Lindsley, director of the Polling Institute, said in a statement accompanying the survey.

Someone should send this article to ABC, NBC, CBS, and the rest of the MSM.

They all seem clueless and naive as to their own lack of integrity in reporting events from a curious but politically neutral view point.

Their dirty work is only going to get harder.

Think we’ll get some ‘the recession is over!’ cheering going when the unemployment numbers are dumped this Friday afternoon?

The media resembles people leading ‘the wave’, which was popular at sports venues several years ago. Pretty soon they’re going to stand up and no one else is going to stand up with them.

The definitions, for the MSM, just keep changing, depending on if it is an R or D related story.

If these Funemployment numbers, as JM creatively likes to call them, were associated with an R administration the MSM would be all over them, like a carpet is on hardwood floors. But, with Obama at the helm, it is a big yawn.

    Janzam –

I am sure that ABC, CNN, CBS and NBC has seen this and critical polls from Rasmusen, Gallup, Pew and George Mason University and either: 1) simply refuse to pay any attention or are in such a delusional state that they believe they are fair and honest and that it’s the public that’s screwed up.

They are part of the leftist cabal, they know full well what they are doing, and they don’t care. There is no longer any pretense what they are up to.

The way CBS skewed the poll numbers showsthe lengths they will go to and how unethical they are.

When did you see a poll in which Republicans or conservatives were over-sampled.

Just read the comments following Ziegler’s article. Most are simply tired with “media-slant.”

Somehow the MSM, though, keeps thinking that it is making sophisticated statements that people will find relevant. But, in the wake of their obvious distortion they are sowing the seeds of their own demise…and, instead they are the ones becoming irrelevant!
