Hugh Hewitt Draws & Quarters David Frum

Hugh Hewitt eviscerates David Frum.  In the interview he starts with a column Frum wrote about the NY-23 election and the New Jersey gubernatorial race, and then goes on to a previous piece Frum wrote mentioning Levin, Hannity, Hewitt and Rush.  I didn’t know Hewitt could get this angry. (Via Hot Air’s Quote of the Day):

“But when you drive-by me in Newsweek, when you put on your blog that in essence accuses me of hypocrisy, you don’t recognize it, and you won’t own it, and you can’t cite anything, David Frum. You are an outrageous example of the worst kind of yellow journalism out there. And the way you treat Limbaugh and Levin and Hannity, who do 50 times the work of keeping conservative principles alive in this country, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.”

Mark Leven did an even better job of destroying Frum (in person) recently.

Off topic: Fred Thompson released a commercial for the Hoffman campaign which will be aired in the final days of the election. It’s a pretty nice commercial.

God this reminds me of the old line from the Marx show on TV — “Please tell the audience….when did you stop beating your wife.?”

I like Hugh Hewitt, which doesn’t mean I agree with every position he takes. But he’s certainly spot-on regarding Frum.

Hewitt’s all about tactical decisions to regain control of the government. We need folks like that too. Plus, on his radio show he’s really good at getting folks like Frum on and then fileting them! 🙂

He’s not Mark Levin…but he is and ally, IMHO.

I like Hewitt as well too, despite is large ego. But, then again, it seems like fame inherently feeds the ego, so perhaps he just can’t help himself.

I heard part of the Frum/Hewitt exchange. It was actually uncomfortable to listen to because of the harshness. Hewitt was like a pit bull, and seemed more incensed by Frum’s mildly negative clumping of him with others in a commentary than anything else.

Frum was upset and defensive…and then Hewitt just cut him off because he was going to interview Pawlenty. Hewitt did throw Frum a bone, however, by saying he could come back on after Pawlenty’s interview. Frum obviously declined, giving Hewitt more to chide him with.

I was not impressed by the exchange. It was like a cock fight, with nothing really accomplished in the dialogue.

Hewitt always conducts himself as a District Attorney conducting a cross examination and often needlessly offends interviewees

I love the way though he relentlessly asks “journalists” to disclose their voting records and ideological biases

Having said that, Frum is a weasel and deserves whatever treatment he gets
