I Finally Agree With The Communists On Something

You will see more articles like this as the simple logic and fairness of peaceful, mutually agreed upon secession gradually becomes a mainstream political idea

The eventual dissolution of the United States of America via peaceful secession is inevitable

Let us have it now

The sooner the better

It can be something used only as a very last resort. I don’t think breaking up the US is really any kind of solution. The European states and the various republics were separated because of language, customs, tribal/clan differences. But left/right or red/blue politics…can’t– shouldn’t break the threads that make us a union, imo. It’s not impossible, but kind of insane.

On one hand, I like the idea…like Texas, you know, one place I think would be successful…but really…we are stronger together than separate.

The US is like the bitter married couple who have been married 25 years of whom all of their friends silently think, “Dear God, why don’t they get a divorce, they hate each other so much!”

I thought that was a serious article until I read the following: The unspoken secret of American politics is that Blue America would be far better off, economically and otherwise, going it alone.

It was all downhill after that.

Sure, it’s from a Communist viewpoint, but that’s good!

If they really think that the economies of MI CA IL NY NJ etc etc are better than those of TX GA LA etc that’s great!

Makes the split up more likely

Look, the liberals will never let us go. They know they need someone to hector and someone to pay the bills.

The only way there can be an effective split is through war and that is not likely.

I agree with beej that while the idea of seccession is tempting, the reality would be to make the U.S. weaker, especially when it comes to self-defense.

Well, I do believe it comes down the whole “pay the bills” part that is the lynch-pin.

Perhaps the red states could create their monetary union outside of the federal reserve system — you guys have Ft. Knox don’t you? Such a “new confederate currency” would sure as hell have more value than the deflated dollar will have in a few years.

Don’t worry Jan, it just fantasy. The Feds nuclear option is instant amnesty for all illegal aliens. Poof! No more red states.

The article only talks about the return on Federal Tax dollars. Because the liberal states tend to endorse more social programs, they tend to fund them at a state level. Federal mandates are supposed to be covered by federal funds (remember that many states refused the stimulus on the grounds that it mandated permanent federal programs with temporary federal funds and was therefore unconstitutional). So if the federal government keeps mandating federal programs and extended them to non-citizens , than the blue states should point them finger at them for higher taxes. The red states would prefer not to have the programs or the dollars in the first place.

Maybe it’s the rain today (which we severely need), but I am finding the news today to be dismal.

The dims seem out-of-control in their need to control everything. Couple that with the U.S.’s posture of weakness with tyrants in the world (Hillary Clinton, as SOS is laughable), I just can’t see what kind of outcomes await us.

I don’t ever recall, in my lifetime, feeling so vulnerable to both inside and outside forces.

Articles such as the one below just feed into my current sense of malaise.

If my Russian sources are reliable, the answer is that Obama is viewed there mostly with amusement. Some of the amusement stems from his trip to Russia this summer. My sources were amused by the flotilla of Air Force jets that brought him and his entourage to Moscow. They were also taken with (but not necessarily impressed by) the fact that Obama and his crew took over the Ritz Carlton hotel, where rooms start at around $1,200 per night and the presidential suite goes for $13,000.

The Marriott had been good enough for Presidents Clinton and Bush. Rooms there — described as similar to Marriott rooms in the U.S. — can be had for around $350. I was also told (but have not been able to confirm) that Bush himself stayed at the Ambassador’s residence, rather than in a hotel as Obama did.

Russia has seen self-aggrandizing, luxury loving heads of state before. What really has turned Russian heads, according to my sources, is Obama’s eagerness to give things away. The Russians, you see, are hard-nosed. They drive hard bargains in their dealings with themselves and perhaps harder still with outsiders. They may even take what they can’t get through hard bargaining when you’re not looking.

Obama the strutting peacock who is nothing more than an empty-headed neophyte!

He cuts quite a figure Link

There’s no reason the red states and blue states cannot separate in peace and trade with each other, and continue to do business with each other…

No reason at all. It would save a lot of lives….

The assumptions the article makes are very wrong.

Yes the Blue states are richer. If they got what they wanted and set up unfettered communism, they’d be a lot poorer very soon.

Same with the Red states in reverse. Take out all the enviro-nitwittery and allow the development of natural resources, farming and energy, and low-tax capitalism, well, the Red states would quickly turn the tables on the blue states and leave them behind…

Also, much blue state wealth is old money that was gained back before those states turned socialist. Tax that at the rates needed to fund their stupid communism, and it disappears like ice in summer.
