NY-23 Epicenter Located In Alaska:
Sarah Palin Endorses Doug Hoffman

2009 October 22
by INC

NY-23 has quickly become the earthquake along the fault line of the Republican Party.  The rumbling is getting louder and the data from the political Richter magnitude scale indicates the shock waves are increasing in severity.

Sarah Palin: Support Doug Hoffman

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it’s important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York’s 23rd Congressional district. It’s my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law….

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of “blurring the lines” between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party’s ticket.

I read rumors yesterday that Sarah Palin might support Doug Hoffman.  She has drawn the line for the Republican Party.

UPDATE: From The Hill:

“The Hoffman campaign is a real revolt against the Republican establishment and leadership, not just in New York but nationally,” said a conservative GOP congressman, adding that Scozzafava’s candidacy “could set off a civil war inside the Republican Party.”

Better yet, when she starts drawing 10,000 to a candidate’s rally when only 50 would normally show.

Who would you rather have behind you – Newt or Sarah? No brainer – Sarah.

Don’t know if Hoffman wins or not but it is definitely drawing a line in the sand and the GOP insiders are on the wrong side.

When Doug Hoffman gets a seat in the U.S. Congress
    Hurrah! Hurrah!
We’ll give him a hearty well done then
    Hurrah! Hurrah!
The BJG men will cheer and shout
The BJG ladies they will all turn out
And we’ll all feel great when Doug Hoffman gets a voice in the U.S. Congress

The old church bell will peal with joy
    Hurrah! Hurrah!
    To congratulate our righteous boy
    Hurrah! Hurrah!
The BJG lads and lassies say
With dollars they will pave the way
And we’ll all feel great when Doug Hoffman gets a voice in the U.S. Congress

Get ready for the Election Jubilee
    Hurrah! Hurrah!
We’ll give our hero Sarah Palin three times three
    Hurrah! Hurrah!
The laurel wreath is ready now
To place upon her loyal brow
And we’ll all feel great when Doug Hoffman gets a voice in the U.S. Congress

Let liberty and life rule on that day
    Hurrah, hurrah!
    Their choicest pleasures then display
    Hurrah, hurrah!
And let each one perform some part
To fill with liberty the others heart
And we’ll all feel great when Doug Hoffman gets a voice in the U.S. Congress

The Other McCain is up in NY. And the rest of the media will show up soon.

He says The Weekly Standard broke the story. Palin sent them her statement before she put it up on Facebook.

TWS’ reporter, John McCormack, is the one Dede called the cops on. I’d also guess that played into Sarah’s decision on who to send the news to break.

As long as Hoffman maintains his Conservatism and doesn’t give into the elitists by moving to the left, he should be fine.

Thaddius McCotter (R-MI) has also endorsed Dede.

Once again the women in the GOP are the ones demonstrating the courage.

Unlike many, Palin and Bachmann realize that idology, philosophical beliefs and the good of the nation trump party affiliation. It’s not like picking a sports team and sticking with them for 50 years even though they suck.

I would like to see Gingrich, Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, McCarthy and McCotter justify endorsing a Congressional candidate who is supported by ACORN and the Daily Kos.

Sorry for my abrupt departure from the previous threads, but it was Catholic High School night at one of the Catholic elementary/middle schools and I was representing my daughter’s school. Things are so tough in Detroit that schools 30 miles away were participating.

I meant Brian Griese. He was decent with the Broncos 10-11 years ago.

You don’t evaluate quarterbacks on what they accomplished aith another team 10 years ago and you don’t evaluate employees on what they did 10 years ago. With Griese and Snowe, 2008 is far more important than 1998.

If you follow RINOs. virtually every RINO (McCain, Lugar, Murkowski Bennett, Voinovich, Coleman, Chaffee, the Dingbat Twins) becomes increasingly liberal as they remain in office and enjoy the security that incumbancy provides. Perhaps, it’s because they truly were liberals and masquaraded as being more conservative to gain the GOP nomination.

Palin has said she would back conservative condidates, not necessarily Republicans and it appears as though she meant it. Even if Hoffman loses, her endorsement will further endear her with conservatives.

Sarah was the one who talked about Obama “paling around with terrorists” and siad about Obama “He’s not one of us,” not talking about race but his radical beliefs. Meanwhile, RINO McCain was assuring voters that “Barack Obama will make a fine President.”

Do you have any idea what Sarah Palin’s endorsement will mean to Hoffman in terms of fund-raising? He’s probably buying media time right now.

While Palin is taking a stand, Romney and Huck are voting “present.” Pawlenty was asked about the NY 23 race and he said he had not been following it.

Honestly, such concerns don’t even register on my radar anymore. The GOP is in absolute shambles right now and the fault lies directly on the shoulders of the party elites who ran the show during the last 8 years. Under their wonderful leadership we’ve lost the House, the Senate, the White House and have the slimmest toehold on the Supreme Court. The Donks didn’t win, the GOP lost. No matter what the outcome of NY-23 they will bitch and moan. To hell with all of them. We have a country that badly needs fixing and if it takes completely trashing the GOP to do so, then so be it.

My message to the GOP: You are either with us or against us. Your choice.

Sent to me by a friend for your enjoyment.

John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ‘pullets,’ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.

Now, he could sit on the porch And fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John’s favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all!

When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover.

To John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making.

Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.

Vote carefully next year, the bells are not always audible.

    Palin Wins. Pawlenty Fails.

The big loser here is Tim Pawlenty. At the first of this month, he made a great deal out of his new leadership PAC. He made great hay out of going out for real conservatives and not just the same old, same old.

    Today there is this:

“You know I haven’t been following that, I haven’t studied the race at all,” he said. “It’s not that I would or wouldn’t, I just don’t know anything about it. I haven’t taken the time to study their positions, their records, so I haven’t taken a position on it.”

There she goes again… going rouge. lol

“Like it or not it’s now a referendum on Palin”
Yup, at least in how the lame stream will play if if Hoffman loses, especially if she makes an appearance up there (which she might as well do at now). Though personally I just see it as referendum on running ultimate RINO’s in relatively solid red districts – don’t do it!

May not be the safest political move for the grisly, but as others have said it is the right move. You know what the RNC and others are thinking right now… “the nerve of this lady!” haha.

DeDe would be wise to just give it up and drop out. you see her complaining in front of hoff’s campaign HQ? How f______ stupid do you have to be?

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view doesn’t change either.

From RedState, Tim Pawlenty from earlier today regarding NY-23:

“You know I haven’t been following that, I haven’t studied the race at all,” he said. “It’s not that I would or wouldn’t, I just don’t know anything about it. I haven’t taken the time to study their positions, their records, so I haven’t taken a position on it.”

This comes from a guy who just announced the formation of a conservative leadership PAC. As one commenter on RS said, he’s either clueless or ball-less. I say both.

He’s not clueless (he talks about plenty of other current events topics), so that only leaves one option, he wants to play it safe.

I disagree that this will hurt Sarah if Hoffman loses. 99% of the country doesnt know diddley about this race. It isnt like she is going to NY to personally campaign with him. She is just throwing down a marker and putting R’s on notice that she will campaign for conservatives next year. And conservatives will be begging her to do so no matter what happens in NY.
