“He was guilty of nothing, except that he earned his own fortune and never forgot that it was his.“ The concept contained within that phrase is what has set America apart, and made her the greatest nation on Earth. And it is the systematic attack on that concept, that this website is dedicated to fighting. This website is NOT devoted to making people “wealthy”, but rather to fighting the notion that the “wealth” they DO have needs to be “redistributed”.

I think there is an even bigger error that Pawlenty made that has not been fleshed out. Newt made his endorsement almost 2 full days before Paw jumped in. Hmmmmm.
Another area where congressional health care differs from that of the people.
After reading that article, I’m beginning to wonder if Palin was endorsing Hoffman because of his Conservative credentials, or just using the opportunity to rid the GOP of “scozzy” politicians.
In an earlier article both Huckabee and Romney have, to date, circumvented the question, entirely, of who they support in the NY-23 race. So, if people’s conservatism is going to be measured by how soon they step up to the bat to endorse a candidate in this now “sensational” race, then those two would have to be deemed to have even worse measurements than Pawlenty…right?
#22 Funny…..a shot that is mandatory in some places, and close to mandatory in others- Congress is exempt from. A healthcare bill that will be the death of this nation (literally and figuratively), Congress is exempt from. Sacrifice for thee…..
I am just grateful that God is no respecter of persons. They will stand before Him one day and have much to answer for……and He doesn’t take back room deals, bribes, or blackmail.
We have a dearth of candidates at the presidential level. Huck, Mitt, Pawlenty are all weak willies. Their idea of boldness does not quite measure up to Washington crossing the Delaware.
Sarah is great, but more vulnerable than ever.
Bush (jeb) is Bush. George Allen is one word away from greatness. Newt is history.
Mark Sanford was my pick to come on strong in 2012. Ha! Don’t cry for me, Argentina.
Here is the California Legislature being lectured by one of “it’s own,” the Democratic State Treasurer Lockyer, about economics. It’s one of the greatest clips I’ve ever seen.
Will McCain try again in 2012? He seems to be postitioning himself to the right, then again, maybe its just to save his senate seat.
Read the article and ask yourself what McCain would have done in the same situation in January of this year. Also note Mike Enzi’s position on the matter: “Obama won, so his nominees should be confirmed.”
From the article
Mr. Becker is on the record supporting suppression of employer free speech,” McCain spokeswoman Brook Buchanan said in an interview with Foxnews.com on Thursday. Buchanan said McCain is calling for an on-the-record hearing to “give Mr. Becker the opportunity to clarify some of these views and opinions.”
Also, this isn’t the first time in recent months McCain has displayed his supposed Conservative credentials. Below is hisfloor statement
and reason why he voted NO on Sotomayor. Incredible stuff even the most Conservative person could appreciate.
I would prefer a Pol that says he/she has not followed the issue and hence is not taking a position (or endorsement) either way at this time. That is actually prudent so long as they make the commitment to get up to speed on the problem (or candidate). Ole Pawlenty did the worse of both!
I guess it’s all about how one “preceives” another. I looked at Pawlenty’s statement as saying he hadn’t been following the issues closely in the district of NY-23. But, from what he had heard so far he probably would endorse on the side of Hoffman.
It’s like reading the cliff notes on a book, and then being asked how you liked the read. Some people would give their opinion, yea or nay immediately. Others, would say they would have to read the book, in it’s entirety, before rendering an honest and critically deduced opinion.
Huck and Mitt are not wanting to rile the establishment or the people so they are silent on ny-23. So neither is worth voting for in 2012, but we already knew that.
BTW it is hard to beleive anyone is ignorant of ny-23 at this point and the choice couldn’t be more clear. Everyone that has an R rep or Senator should call them and ask who they support.
I am going to put my tin foil hat on for a moment and ask if this national emergency has anything to do with NY-23 because can’t they suspend elections in a national emergency? OR…is this to pass the emergency health care bill because our health is in a CRISIS!
JM, 42, gosh I don’t think Obammy would. Isn’t NY-23 more of a Republican ‘crisis’ than anything else? If he perceives it that way then he’s going to let the swine run its course. (Least I would if I were the dastardly.)
“is this to pass the emergency health care bill because our health is in a CRISIS!”

Probaby, since Dingy and Piggy are now trying to get things magically wrapped before nov 3rd. I wish them luck, especially with that 3 day waiting period they promised, lol lol.
Excellent column. I know most at BJG disagree with me, but I view NY-23 as the most important election in 2009, If Hoffman wins (and I know it’s a longshot), it will inspire conservatives across thge country to rise up and fight the establishment.
Interesting Dog, I think it’s gonna have to get far worse for the brits before they come to their senses but maybe the seeds are finally starting to grow a bit.
VA is most important – thankfully that looks like it’s almost in the bag, but VA voters need to make it to the polls. Then NY, part one is ensuring DeDe places third, second part is hoping Owens places second. Frankly part one is enough, though I would prefer a doubleheader. Then NJ where I still don’t think Christi will pull this out, but it’s certainly possible, just have an inherent lack of trust in NJ voters.
btw to who ever (i forget ) was saying McCain was doing the right thing with Net Neutrality, keep in mind it’s that it may not be any personal conviction, but instead pressure from big campaign contributors that are driving the proper move.
Now go look up McCain and Att etc in campaign finance\tracking websites. Telecom have always funneled a good amount of dollars since the late 90’s his way.
I agree with most of your analysis. Although I continue to view NY-23 as mostly a symbolic empowerment of the tea parties and the conservative base should Hoffman be able to overtake the frontrunners.
The dims already have 22 seats with only 3 that are republican held in NY. So, retaining the 3rd seat is not going to be any great shakes to overturning policy in that state. And, whoever wins that district’s seat is going to be up for reelection in one year. At that time, even if Hoffman loses now, he most certainly will run again, this time with the political wind at his back.
Getting VA governorship would be good. Coupling that with a Christie win in NJ would be GREAT!
Unmanned aircraft operated by the US attacked a meeting of the Bajaur Taliban, killing 22 Islamist extremists. The attack came close to killing one of the senior-most Taliban commanders in Pakistan.
KH – I posted the McCain link and believe me, I don’t think by any means that this was a matter of principle. I have also posted McCain’s ties to Soros. I just said he finally did something I agree with, not that I trusted his reasoning.
Hmmm. Maybe we have an issue with targeting there KH. Possibly the Army should send in a Predator to attack ISI headquarters FIRST. Then attack the Taliban meeting!
As far as the Telcos and the Net Neutrality goes. Its all a stop gap action. Two examples.
* Back in the 80’s as part of the whole Judge Greene divestiture thing it was agreed in principle that the Telcos would have a free hand vis a vis the State regulatory agencies to deploy ‘advanced services’. Well back then that was ISDN. We were all to get it ’soon’. Heh. As soon as the ink was dry, the Telco’s dragged their feet. Can anybody raise their hand and say they had ISDN in their house by 1990? Didn’t think so.
* A follow on appeal of the Greene ruling, 1988. The Telcos had to open up their not only their networks but their facilities to what was called a CLEC (Competing Local Exchange Carrier). The idea being to foster competition to get rates down. That lasted about 3 years. Every subsequent year from year 0 the Telcos kept raising their onsite rental fees till it was not possible for the CLEC’s to compete.
It will happen with these new rules too. Bank on it.
So I don’t expect to see any long term outcomes for the Telcos on Net Neutrality. Remember they buy the best legal talent of anybody on K Street. (It’s been said that Verizon’s chief legal council knows more about telecom policy than the FCC.) But hold onto your hat. You will see an explosion of smart phones and other toys over the next couple of years. I fully expect to see a Motorola or Nokia to fail because they cannot keep up technologically.
Dr.Dog that would probably require a decision out of a guy in big house painted white, those seem hard to come by these days. What’s hilariously sickening is we probably paid for the communication system that was used to warn the guy.
Don’t worry though Biden is on the case now!
Oh I’m not worried about so much about access\transit issues those will always work themselves out one way or another, it some of the other statements and bullshit the FCC appears to want to get itself involved with around content.
Dr.Dog that would probably require a decision out of a guy in big house painted white, those seem hard to come by these days. — KH
Heh. Probably. But there is that ole saying, Do it, beg forgivness later. All the operator has to do is drag the mouse to a new set of GPS coords. “Sorry Col! Won’t happen again. Honest. I sneezed.”
from that piece:
“Journalists are going to make mistakes — not intentionally but they will happen. Acknowledging them goes a long way to maintaining credibility.”"
—
That’s true, but apologizing for mistakes not made will lose you credibility, assuming you had any in the first place.
If Obama was trying not to be like Nixon, what would he be doing differently? I have had to ask that same question with a different beginning so many times in recent months and have yet to get a decent answer from a lib. If Obama were trying to not be compared to ________, or if Obama were not trying to crash our economic system…..etc etc…..what would he be doing differently?
“Do it, beg forgivness later.”
—
True enough Dr.Dog (shades of april sea pirates ) but hitting the ISI HQ by mistake …is well, sort of like hitting the Chinese Embassy “by mistake”, not something that’s going to go unnoticed, someone’s head would be forced to roll for it.
Actually then again maybe not since nobody holds this president to account for anything… and you know he’s got all that “SMART” diplomacy going on, I’m sure that would take care of it. LOL
If I were dictator I would strip the FCC down to a shadow image of it’s current self, leaving mainly the E&T, spectrum maintenance folks, and perhaps a few other key bureau’s.
I might even go futher. Dictate that hence forth the only devices allowed to emit RF energy are those that operate under a spread spectrum basis. Then within the bounds of physics, eliminate all artificial channel designators.
BTW where is MFG I wanted to ask if he still thinks healthcare is dead, or even a government option being included being dead in the senate. Last 24 hours seem to suggest a ram and jam to include such (by another name of course) in the senate bill. You know.. the non-public, public option… these people in congress really do think we’re stupid, or more precisely we’re not paying attention, the problem is most of the time they are right about at least one of those.
I wonder if any of these flippin’ morons know how H1N1 is contracted. I can’t believe the stupidity of some people! This infuriates me!!
Standing in line with THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO OBVIOUSLY HAVEN’T HAD THEIR FLU SHOT OR THEY WOULDN’T BE THERE is freaking insanity.
Not only that, but Obama has declard H1N1 to be a national emergency. I’m not qualified to determine if that is warranted or not, but I am qualified to opine that the timing of the declaration is suspect. Why call it now instead of last week or a month ago? If this was Bush, this would have been called Katrina II. So far, 1000 people have died because of H1N1 and Obama is just now getting around to it? On a freakin’ Saturday afternoon?
So when it gets to like ~1800 deaths can we all just start chanting “Remember Swine flu!” lol
If this was bush….. You know how many times that comes to mind in any given day when thinking about the current administration as well as the media coverage of things?
It gets to be frustrating at times comparing what would’ve happend to Bush vs what is happening to Obama. The fact is, we’re getting daily daily H1N1 death counts, but we’re not told if the deaths are H1N1 related or what. (My point here is that influenza causes a number of deaths every year.) Are the H1N1 deaths higher than normal?
Oh my gosh the media coverage on Bush for even the teensiest things. Bush had a mustard stain on his shirt today OMG! Film at 11. Obama could snort coke off a dead hooker in front of the Pope while chanting jihad! And the press would not make a peep.
Is the number of deaths caused by H1N1 significantly higher than deaths caused by any other flu strain such as Asian flu? If yes, why wait until now (Saturday afternoon) to declare a national emergency? If no, why declare the emergency in the first place?
“Obama could snort coke off a dead hooker in front of the Pope while chanting jihad! And the press would not make a peep.”
—
Interesting that you mention that. Did you catch RedEye friday night?
The piece about that david whatever comedian guy snorting coke off the table at an Obama dinner event 40 feet away from the president.
Cocaine and Obama yet another reminder of other stories that were never really covered or pushed by the mass media in 2008, yet was constantly mentioned for in prior campaigns, both Bush and Clinton.
Well, what does declaring an emergency gain Obama. There are no coincidences with that man, so I ask, what does he personally have to gain from this if the swine flu is less of a problem than the regular flu or Avian flu? What privileges does the president gain from national declaration of emergency?
Declare the emergency when nobody is really watching the news, that way it’s not uber covered, then use the elevated powers or restriction that come with such a declaration to start implementing whatever it is you need, getting around perhaps whatever roadblocks were in the way during the non-emergency.
Or more tinfoilly..he knows something we don’t yet.. like maybe the vaccine doesn’t really work that well, or perhaps more simply he just wants to be “seen” as doing something, though the later would not be released on a saturday afternoon. Then again I mean this WH communications office hasn’t exactly shown all that much competence.
Heh and we though McClellan was bad (which that little slimeball was), but makes Gibbs look like Cicero.
How about this for a random (probably lame) theory.
—
Does declaring a national emergency, and a product produced during stuff shield a product’s manufacturer from lawsuits? Thing is I thought the vaccine maker already had secured a get out of jail free card for the vacine from the administration.
The are many references that the CDC clamis flu deaths number about 30K every year. What’s really interesting I’ve been discovering that when Tommy Thompson was the head of Health and Human Services and tried to alert people that actual deaths caused by flu is much higher than previously thought, the libs went crazy.
Obammer has his panties in a knot over the flu “epidemic” but is blind as a bat to THIS,
and is willing to add to the number by allowing more of it under his “health care” crapola.
Maybe not so absurd. Actually a real possibility. The vaccine was rushed through at the insistence of the HHS. Testing was incomplete at every stage. Something might be on the order of ineffective against the particular strain, or the problems experienced in 1976.
Cushioning the backlash to bad decisions.
Obama really irresponsibly used the scare of swine flu to push hellcare early on.
Sadly enough IP, the left sees abortions as nothing more than sacrifices to their god: liberalism. It probably doesn’t matter what actually gets sacrificed, its just that the unborn can’t fight back.
The Mayans used to sacrifice young girls, probably for the same reason: inablity to fight back.
“but makes Gibbs look like Cicero.”

btw I actually meant to type “he looks like Cicero next to Gibbs.” just noticed I mangled the chit out of what I was thinking.
The fingers apparently are not connected to the mind today, I think more beer is needed.
[Oh, you will not hear "No socialized medicine" from me. My business excludes health insurance for stockholders. My employees have Blue Cross. I have TRICARE for reservists which is federal health care and I LOVE it!! I love my socialized health care!! OL]
Why would one compare tricare (a benefit of his service) to the entitlement of the various healthcare proposals anyway. Wonder if he’d love tri-care so much if 290 million more people were enrolled. Me thinks not.
Wonder if he’d love tri-care so much if 290 million more people were enrolled. Me thinks not.
Two things:
1 the thought would never occur to him
2 he wants the taxpayers to bail him out of his healthcare costs. He rails against all the bankers who got some, but then begs for some himself….
He is a real low life, and a liar, but Poli is utterly mad about him. I think Poli took away Oak’s ban privs, though, because you can cuss him out all day long and not get banned….
In spending some time on other sites, it’s evident NY-23 has caught the attention of conservatives across the U.S. Regardless of whether Hoffman wins or not, it appears the fire has started.
Have you ever heard that a dog ‘knows’ when an earthquake is about to hit?
Have you ever heard that a dog can ’sense’ when a tornado is stirring up, even 20 miles away?
Do you remember hearing that before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia , dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck speed?
Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?
Somehow they always know when they can ‘go for a ride’ before you even ask and how do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?
I’m a firm believer that animals – and especially dogs – have keen insights into the Truth.
And you can’t tell me that dogs can’t sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.
Simply said, a dog just KNOWS when something isn’t right….. when impending doom is upon us. They’ll always try to warn us!!!
I think it was Mullet who asked who Huckabee was endorsing in the NY-23 race. According to RedState….
I’ve known this for a couple of weeks and hoped it wasn’t true. But based on more conversations over the last few days and today, I have to report that denials to the contrary I know why Mike Huckabee will not endorse Doug Hoffman despite agreeing with pretty much everything Doug Hoffman says.
The Club for Growth and Fred Thompson endorsed Doug Hoffman.
Huckabee and the Club do not get along and Huckabee is still bitter about Thompson hanging on after Iowa in 2008.
Now that Palin has endorsed and more are coming, perhaps Huckabee will have a change of heart.
For now, though, he can’t bring himself to be on the same side as the Club For Growth and Thompson.
I think all Pubbies who endorese Dede will be hurt, but I believe the biggest casualty will be Newt Gingrich. Not only did Newt endorse her, but he is attempting to justify his endorsement in a really poor way.
Both parties are readying talking points depending on the outcome. Inside the White House, aides envision a scenario in which Deeds loses in Virginia and Corzine wins in New Jersey. Should the Democrats prevail in New York, the White House would then label that race the “tie-breaker.” In this formulation, the White House would assert that the Democrats carried the day.
Republicans are also refining their message should they prevail Nov. 3. The party is prepared to paint GOP victories as a grim verdict on Obama’s presidency — a foreshadow of the crucial midterm elections next year.
“If the Democrats lose in Virginia, it is first and foremost a referendum on President Obama and a harbinger of bad things to come in the midterms,” said Mark Corallo, a Republican strategist.
Democratic party encounters ‘Obama hangover’ in state, local elections L.A. Times link
Newt is dragging out that tired old line of ’solidarity for the party’ shtick again. He did it in Dallas 3 days ago while pitching his book. He got a face full of ‘No Way Jose!’ from those that had a chance to speak.
Newt needs to get in a car and drive Jacksonville to Corpus Christi, stopping at every 2 bit dinner and independent gas station. Where ever he stops he should ask one question — “How are the Republicans doing?”
KH, to answer your question I put no faith in the House to stop HellCare, as the Blue Frauds will fold at the appropriate time in the House
I still think HellCare will fail in the Senate as there is no credible road to 60 in the Senate, and reconciliation will cause a riot
My best guess is that the Communists push this bill far left, Snowe bails on it, then Blanche Lincoln or another moderate Communist bails on the bill dropping them to 59 after which the bottom falls out and the rest of the worried bail out
Of course it will not be spoken of as a FAILURE but it’ll be couched as, “Of COURSE we’re not abandoning HellCare, we’ll take it up next year, just you wait and see!”
Also, the clock is running, it’s almost November and they haven’t even come up with a bill and the floor debate will take forever and the poll numbers keep dropping…
Problem is what do either the Dims or the Reps say if NY-23 goes for the independent guy? That meme is not exactly in line with their overall message on either side. What? What’s that? Oh you didn’t notice the Pox On Both Houses message in the article either? Funny neither did I.
Politico (ha) reports that Harry is nearing 60 on a vote to proceed with a public option. Lieberman insist he does not want a public option, but will vote to proceed. He’s leaving his principles at the door – bastid.
Landreiu thinks she can vote to proceed so MFG hadn’t made enough phone calls yet. She will drag the moderates with her.
Let me get this straight. I assume that giving a mailbox a shake has the tendency to imply the box sits on top of a 4×4 post or similar. Take your average snow plow. Its probably a 10ton rated truck to hold sand/salt coupled with a 500-1000# plow on the front.
I don’t care if the mailbox was just planted in the ground. 20mph with that rig, any post is toast. Like busting a match stick with a sledge hammer.
Apologies to those in MI, but no wonder your state is hurting.
How about “choke your dumbass useless governor day” in honor of this dimwit and her inability to focus on or do anything to help this state with its real problems. It is amazing how far a cute middle-aged face will take some broads these days.

Here is the California Legislature being lectured by one of “it’s own,” the Democratic State Treasurer Lockyer, about economics. It’s one of the greatest clips I’ve ever seen.
[33]
Obama declares national emergency
[34]
Obammy has declared a national medical emergency relative to the swine flu pandemic. Vaccine is in short supply, and parents are panicky.
Look over there! Look over there!
I am picking your pocket over here.
[35]
Will McCain try again in 2012? He seems to be postitioning himself to the right, then again, maybe its just to save his senate seat.
Read the article and ask yourself what McCain would have done in the same situation in January of this year. Also note Mike Enzi’s position on the matter: “Obama won, so his nominees should be confirmed.”
From the article
Also, this isn’t the first time in recent months McCain has displayed his supposed Conservative credentials. Below is hisfloor statement
and reason why he voted NO on Sotomayor. Incredible stuff even the most Conservative person could appreciate.
[36]
Jan,
I would prefer a Pol that says he/she has not followed the issue and hence is not taking a position (or endorsement) either way at this time.

#31 ROFL!
[40]
Obama declares national emergency~~~~standby for another flare drop
[41]
Huck and Mitt are not wanting to rile the establishment or the people so they are silent on ny-23. So neither is worth voting for in 2012, but we already knew that.
BTW it is hard to beleive anyone is ignorant of ny-23 at this point and the choice couldn’t be more clear. Everyone that has an R rep or Senator should call them and ask who they support.
[42]
I am going to put my tin foil hat on for a moment and ask if this national emergency has anything to do with NY-23 because can’t they suspend elections in a national emergency? OR…is this to pass the emergency health care bill because our health is in a CRISIS!
[43]
NY-23, where the revolution officially started.
[44]
#42 — it’s just another deflection tactic. Put enough ingredients in the stew and you eventually can’t tell what is in there!
[45]
JM, 42, gosh I don’t think Obammy would. Isn’t NY-23 more of a Republican ‘crisis’ than anything else? If he perceives it that way then he’s going to let the swine run its course. (Least I would if I were the dastardly.)
[46]
Jan, 38, ‘cliff notes’ I like that.

Probaby, since Dingy and Piggy are now trying to get things magically wrapped before nov 3rd. I wish them luck, especially with that 3 day waiting period they promised, lol lol.
[49]
Well we Colonials aren’t the only one’s pumping up a right wing stink. The Mother Country in a recent poll has 22% considering the rightwing BNP party. Sounds like a case of Maggie’s Revenge.
[50]
Janzam #47
Excellent column. I know most at BJG disagree with me, but I view NY-23 as the most important election in 2009, If Hoffman wins (and I know it’s a longshot), it will inspire conservatives across thge country to rise up and fight the establishment.
[51]
Interesting Dog, I think it’s gonna have to get far worse for the brits before they come to their senses but maybe the seeds are finally starting to grow a bit.
[52]
VA is most important – thankfully that looks like it’s almost in the bag, but VA voters need to make it to the polls. Then NY, part one is ensuring DeDe places third, second part is hoping Owens places second. Frankly part one is enough, though I would prefer a doubleheader. Then NJ where I still don’t think Christi will pull this out, but it’s certainly possible, just have an inherent lack of trust in NJ voters.
[53]
btw to who ever (i forget ) was saying McCain was doing the right thing with Net Neutrality, keep in mind it’s that it may not be any personal conviction, but instead pressure from big campaign contributors that are driving the proper move.
Now go look up McCain and Att etc in campaign finance\tracking websites. Telecom have always funneled a good amount of dollars since the late 90’s his way.

KH
[55]
Read the whole thing and you see that the ISI once again tipped off the big prize to leave 10m before the strike. Same chit different day.
[56]
KH – I posted the McCain link and believe me, I don’t think by any means that this was a matter of principle. I have also posted McCain’s ties to Soros. I just said he finally did something I agree with, not that I trusted his reasoning.
[57]
Hmmm. Maybe we have an issue with targeting there KH. Possibly the Army should send in a Predator to attack ISI headquarters FIRST. Then attack the Taliban meeting!
[58]
[59]
Roger that TLS.
Dr.Dog that would probably require a decision out of a guy in big house painted white, those seem hard to come by these days. What’s hilariously sickening is we probably paid for the communication system that was used to warn the guy.
Don’t worry though Biden is on the case now!
[60]
Gotta keep that Obama Journalist Seal of Approval!
[61]
Oh I’m not worried about so much about access\transit issues those will always work themselves out one way or another, it some of the other statements and bullshit the FCC appears to want to get itself involved with around content.
[62]
Dr.Dog that would probably require a decision out of a guy in big house painted white, those seem hard to come by these days. — KH
Heh. Probably. But there is that ole saying, Do it, beg forgivness later. All the operator has to do is drag the mouse to a new set of GPS coords. “Sorry Col! Won’t happen again. Honest. I sneezed.”
[63]
True. I do have some concerns about the diversity czar over the FCC. The man is a maniac, Chavez lover.
[64]
#60 – OMFG… issues an apology? lol
from that piece:
“Journalists are going to make mistakes — not intentionally but they will happen. Acknowledging them goes a long way to maintaining credibility.”"
—
That’s true, but apologizing for mistakes not made will lose you credibility, assuming you had any in the first place.
[65]
If Obama was trying not to be like Nixon, what would he be doing differently? I have had to ask that same question with a different beginning so many times in recent months and have yet to get a decent answer from a lib. If Obama were trying to not be compared to ________, or if Obama were not trying to crash our economic system…..etc etc…..what would he be doing differently?
[66]
“Do it, beg forgivness later.”
—
True enough Dr.Dog (shades of april sea pirates ) but hitting the ISI HQ by mistake …is well, sort of like hitting the Chinese Embassy “by mistake”, not something that’s going to go unnoticed, someone’s head would be forced to roll for it.
Actually then again maybe not since nobody holds this president to account for anything… and you know he’s got all that “SMART” diplomacy going on, I’m sure that would take care of it. LOL
“The man is a maniac”
—
Understatement.
[67]
If I were dictator I would strip the FCC down to a shadow image of it’s current self, leaving mainly the E&T, spectrum maintenance folks, and perhaps a few other key bureau’s.
[68]
JM- I posted regarding McCain, but it got lost somewhere??
[69]
KH, 67,
I might even go futher. Dictate that hence forth the only devices allowed to emit RF energy are those that operate under a spread spectrum basis. Then within the bounds of physics, eliminate all artificial channel designators.
[70]
JM, be more like Gerald Ford? He’s dumb enough. All he has to pick up is a aptitude for falling down stairs and a severe slice in his golf game.
[71]
Ladies and Gentlemen. Here is your preview of what OamaCare will be like. Some people spent 11hrs in line for a H1N1 flu shots.
Reminds me of Russian bread lines.
[72]
JM – I sent you an email.
[73]
#71 LOL -I don’t expect that image comparison to be made by anyone in the old media, well not without a follow up apology of course!
[74]
BTW where is MFG I wanted to ask if he still thinks healthcare is dead, or even a government option being included being dead in the senate. Last 24 hours seem to suggest a ram and jam to include such (by another name of course) in the senate bill. You know.. the non-public, public option… these people in congress really do think we’re stupid, or more precisely we’re not paying attention, the problem is most of the time they are right about at least one of those.
[75]
71
[76]
So when it gets to like ~1800 deaths can we all just start chanting “Remember Swine flu!” lol
If this was bush….. You know how many times that comes to mind in any given day when thinking about the current administration as well as the media coverage of things?
[77]
KH
It gets to be frustrating at times comparing what would’ve happend to Bush vs what is happening to Obama. The fact is, we’re getting daily daily H1N1 death counts, but we’re not told if the deaths are H1N1 related or what. (My point here is that influenza causes a number of deaths every year.) Are the H1N1 deaths higher than normal?
[78]
Oh my gosh the media coverage on Bush for even the teensiest things. Bush had a mustard stain on his shirt today OMG! Film at 11. Obama could snort coke off a dead hooker in front of the Pope while chanting jihad! And the press would not make a peep.
[79]
bah!
Even I can’t make sense of #79
Is the number of deaths caused by H1N1 significantly higher than deaths caused by any other flu strain such as Asian flu? If yes, why wait until now (Saturday afternoon) to declare a national emergency? If no, why declare the emergency in the first place?
[80]
“Obama could snort coke off a dead hooker in front of the Pope while chanting jihad! And the press would not make a peep.”
—
Interesting that you mention that. Did you catch RedEye friday night?
The piece about that david whatever comedian guy snorting coke off the table at an Obama dinner event 40 feet away from the president.
Cocaine and Obama yet another reminder of other stories that were never really covered or pushed by the mass media in 2008, yet was constantly mentioned for in prior campaigns, both Bush and Clinton.
[81]
Well, what does declaring an emergency gain Obama. There are no coincidences with that man, so I ask, what does he personally have to gain from this if the swine flu is less of a problem than the regular flu or Avian flu? What privileges does the president gain from national declaration of emergency?
[82]
Riding the white horse to the rescue syndrome.
[83]
[84]
How about this for a random (probably lame) theory.
—
Does declaring a national emergency, and a product produced during stuff shield a product’s manufacturer from lawsuits? Thing is I thought the vaccine maker already had secured a get out of jail free card for the vacine from the administration.
[85]
I feel all tinfoilly too, but I find myself curious if this will be the “crisis” needed to take control of the interwebs.
[86]
CT….I dont have the data at hand but it is my recollection that a normal flu season produces about 10,000 deaths.
[87]
Thanks, Bruce
The are many references that the CDC clamis flu deaths number about 30K every year. What’s really interesting I’ve been discovering that when Tommy Thompson was the head of Health and Human Services and tried to alert people that actual deaths caused by flu is much higher than previously thought, the libs went crazy.
See HERE
From the article:
Here are the total flu deaths from the report. From 1979 to 1995, the stats were released every two years.
1979: 604
1981: 3,006
1983: 1,431
1985: 2,054
1987: 632
1989: 1,593
1991: 1,137
1993: 1,044
1995: 606
1996: 745
1997: 720
1998: 1,724
1999: 1,665
2000: 1765
2001: 257
[88]
Obammer has his panties in a knot over the flu “epidemic” but is blind as a bat to THIS,
and is willing to add to the number by allowing more of it under his “health care” crapola.
The inmates are truly running the asylum.
[89]
KH #84
Maybe not so absurd. Actually a real possibility. The vaccine was rushed through at the insistence of the HHS. Testing was incomplete at every stage. Something might be on the order of ineffective against the particular strain, or the problems experienced in 1976.
Cushioning the backlash to bad decisions.
Obama really irresponsibly used the scare of swine flu to push hellcare early on.
[90]
Sadly enough IP, the left sees abortions as nothing more than sacrifices to their god: liberalism. It probably doesn’t matter what actually gets sacrificed, its just that the unborn can’t fight back.
The Mayans used to sacrifice young girls, probably for the same reason: inablity to fight back.
[91]

btw I actually meant to type “he looks like Cicero next to Gibbs.” just noticed I mangled the chit out of what I was thinking.

Why would one compare tricare (a benefit of his service) to the entitlement of the various healthcare proposals anyway. Wonder if he’d love tri-care so much if 290 million more people were enrolled. Me thinks not.
[97]
Because he is a dangerous lunatic, crazy beyond even the fevered dreams of the far left, and not fit for military service, IMO.
He does not give a crap about the constitution at all.
And he does not mind crowing about his apples and calling them oranges, that’s for sure…
[98]
Wonder if he’d love tri-care so much if 290 million more people were enrolled. Me thinks not.
Two things:
1 the thought would never occur to him
2 he wants the taxpayers to bail him out of his healthcare costs. He rails against all the bankers who got some, but then begs for some himself….

In spending some time on other sites, it’s evident NY-23 has caught the attention of conservatives across the U.S. Regardless of whether Hoffman wins or not, it appears the fire has started.
[103]

Thanks, Jan.
They are all political first, conservatives later. Are they not?
[110]
It appears that way, Mullet!
[111]
I think all Pubbies who endorese Dede will be hurt, but I believe the biggest casualty will be Newt Gingrich. Not only did Newt endorse her, but he is attempting to justify his endorsement in a really poor way.
[112]
Newt has a history of whining when he isn’t allowed to ride where he thinks he should be able to ride. Just ask Clinton.
No doubt Newt thinks he can say or do anything, but because he considers himself a Conservative, we will give him a seat on our bus.

Democratic party encounters ‘Obama hangover’ in state, local elections L.A. Times link
[114]
Newt is dragging out that tired old line of ’solidarity for the party’ shtick again. He did it in Dallas 3 days ago while pitching his book. He got a face full of ‘No Way Jose!’ from those that had a chance to speak.
Newt needs to get in a car and drive Jacksonville to Corpus Christi, stopping at every 2 bit dinner and independent gas station. Where ever he stops he should ask one question — “How are the Republicans doing?”
His view might just change some.
[115]
Hey, KH and everyone
[116]
Also, the clock is running, it’s almost November and they haven’t even come up with a bill and the floor debate will take forever and the poll numbers keep dropping…
[117]
That’s interesting Jan.
Problem is what do either the Dims or the Reps say if NY-23 goes for the independent guy? That meme is not exactly in line with their overall message on either side. What? What’s that? Oh you didn’t notice the Pox On Both Houses message in the article either? Funny neither did I.

They will pass a something sometime. They have waited since the new deal, it’s now or never for them.

Gotta melt the phones next week.
[132]
Hey, if we’re dumb enough to
liveexist in Michigan ….[133]
Let me get this straight. I assume that giving a mailbox a shake has the tendency to imply the box sits on top of a 4×4 post or similar. Take your average snow plow. Its probably a 10ton rated truck to hold sand/salt coupled with a 500-1000# plow on the front.
I don’t care if the mailbox was just planted in the ground. 20mph with that rig, any post is toast. Like busting a match stick with a sledge hammer.
Apologies to those in MI, but no wonder your state is hurting.
[134]
BC, my favorite comment:
How about “choke your dumbass useless governor day” in honor of this dimwit and her inability to focus on or do anything to help this state with its real problems. It is amazing how far a cute middle-aged face will take some broads these days.

You have Chapel Hill, an influx of yankees and Elizabeth Dole ran a horrible campaign plus Obama brought out the minority vote like never before.
[141]
Yes we do, bc. Yes we do.
[142]
If Landreiu and Liebercommie are voting for cloture, this thing is going to pass.
I continue to be surprised that you admit all these “moderates” are voting for cloture but you’re sure it won’t pass.
[143]
I can’t believe these turds will say they oppose the public option, but they want to keep the process moving, and vote accordingly.
This bill has to be killed early if it is going to die at all.
[144]
Thx MFG… occasionally I want to hear optimism even if I don’t believe it.
