Police Escort John Ziegler From Western CPAC UPDATED

by INC

John Ziegler, the executive producer of the documentary, Media Malpractice…How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted, was kicked out of Western CPAC today.   Before Ziegler had to leave, Jim Hoft, the Gateway Pundit, talked with him about his interview with David Keene, the Chairman of the American Conservative Union which Jim writes precipitated the police being called.

Here’s the video Jim has up at Gateway Pundit.

You may remember that David Keene had some problems in July with a controversy involving Fed Ex and UPS.

UPDATE: Ed Morrissey was at Western CPAC and has a few more words on the event, including the confrontation between Ziegler and Keene:

A few final thoughts from Western CPAC

In fact, our friend John Ziegler attended for the express purpose of getting Keene to answer for his pay-for-play shenanigans with FedEx earlier this year as well as Keene’s attacks on Sarah Palin.  The situation turned ugly, as Mediaite reports; Western CPAC ejected Ziegler after he followed Keene into the speaking hall, which followed Keene calling Ziegler an “asshole” and saying he wanted to punch Ziegler.

Ziegler was expelled and removed from his panel, and had agreed to go if the organizers didn’t make a big deal about it. Instead, one of the organizers decided to make it public from the dais during Saturday’s lunch rather than letting the situation go, which prompted Ziegler to grab the mike and answer the allegations, and Ziegler got escorted from the premises. John’s going to have much more at his site later tonight, so be sure to keep up with it there, and he’ll be on my show tomorrow to talk more about it.

Ed has other criticisms of various interactions of the event as well.  He concludes:

The big problem with the conservative movement has been its self-appointed leaders telling others to shut up and follow in lockstep, and I don’t think any so-called movement leaders taking that approach have the first foggy clue about what the New Media and Tax Parties mean.

UPDATE II: Ed has a new post up with a link to Mediaite where you’ll find more video and a column by Ziegler on the weekend.

I’m sorry to say it. I believe the GOP is nearly irretrievable. The Dems went over the cliff long ago, and the R party appears to be following them.

You cannot name a Democrat that is not corrupt. How close are we to not being able to name a Republican that isn’t?

This is disappointing. We don’t have a lot of time to get our “stuff” together before the midterm elections. If significant gains are not made to curtail the legislative lock the dems have, the country is gone.

3rd parties are an exercise in futility.

People need to understand that the Republicans are just about as bad as the Democrats. We need to hold their feet to the fire.

I know some conservatives are concerned that this in fighting may cause the Democrats to stay in power in 2010. Who really cares at this point. If we continue to elect Republicans that will sell us out it wont make a difference. Instead of going over the cliff at 150 mph with Democrats, we will be going over at 100 mph with the Republicans.

Given the financial mess facing the country, it may already be too late. But by being Democrat lite wont save the country either. Thus it is more important to stand by our principles as conservatives than to sell out for power. Future generations will want to know where people stood when it was going down the drain. We may go down but they will at least know we were right in our thinking.

Well, we need a few things:

A stable, prominent currency and the growing economy and fiscal balance that would allow it,
A tightening job market with growing wages, which requires tax cuts, growing businesses and this requires immigration enforcement.
A way out of the entitlement morass that does not include mass inflation.. This involves free market health care, and incentive programs for doctors to care for these patients while medicare/social security is slowly capped and privatized…

A return to constitutional government and individual liberty.

If we do not get these things, America will die. And we will not get them from the Democrats.

We won’t get them from the Rs either, unless we force them. But the democrats cannot even be forced.

Let us try the Rs one more time, as the only alternative to breaking up the country.

The downward spiral is accelerating, and soon it will be impossible to stop. Cloward Piven is our new way of life?

The socialists better be careful. Once they overload the system and it collapses, they will have their event. The one they want to excuse their establishment of totalitarianism.

But the response to that just might not be the meek acceptance of Cuban style dictatorship the socialists are planning for.

In that case, they had better have their own hueys on the roof….

First things first. The GOP has to regain some seats in 2010 to create some space between chaos and oblivion. During the next two years, they have to get behind a conservative candidate and establish some party unity and discipline.

Otherwise, as rwy and gnqanq say, it is headed toward the cliff and there’s no stopping it.

A year ago, I would have never thought breakup. After a year of Obama, I think its better than 50/50 if nothing changes before 2012. Good Americans, and there are plenty, will not accept socialism and loss of personal liberty.

    I won’t.

Thanks INC. I trust David Keane about as much as I trust Rahm Emanuel. Keane is a skunk.

Well, once we do defeat them, there is going to be hell to pay if things don’t change. And you know the Rs will be complacent as usual, content to leave the left’s garbage in place, and while away the time.

Get a clue Rs., we don’t hire you for nothing. If you can’t fight the left, you’re no good to anyone and we will do it ourselves.

The R party is a joke. Nutless crybabies all of them.

There has been virtually no leadership from the Rs so far during Obama’s time. We are going to have to drag them by the nose..

Guess I am missing it. Is the whole point of the post that Ziegler is just a nut job?

If that’s the case, thank our stars that he’s one of the few in our camp. The Dims are nothing but a bunch of nut jobs.

No, Dr. D., the point was that when Ziegler tried to pin Keene down about why he not only bad-mouthed Sarah Palin but had also given money to Specter, Keene decided to have Ziegler removed.
