Energy: Politics & U. S. Resources

by INC

Because Joe Biden tried to take on Sarah Palin over the energy issue today, I thought you might be interested in this article I read via RedState:

U.S. Tops in Energy Resources

The United States has largest energy reserves on Earth, according to a report from the Congressional Research Service.

As shown in the charts below, the U.S. has 1,321 billion barrels of oil (or barrels of oil equivalent for other sources of energy) when combining its recoverable natural gas, oil and coal reserves….

Take a minute and look at the charts at Human Events.

The press release on U.S. resources at the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works Minority Page states:

…America’s combined recoverable natural gas, oil, and coal endowment is the largest on Earth. America’s recoverable resources, Congressional Research Service (CRS) shows, are far larger than those of Saudi Arabia (3rd), China (4th), and Canada (6th) combined.  And that’s without including America’s absolutely immense oil shale and methane hydrates deposits….

The Administration’s Record: While we appreciate what President Obama has said about the need to increase domestic production of conventional fuels, nine months after taking office the actions his agencies have taken tell a different story.

The press release lists eleven bullet points on energy and the Obama administration.  As Erick Erickson wrote:

…Barack Obama is opposed to further use of coal. He is also opposed to greater use of our oil and natural gas reserves.

So we have all this stuff and our government does not want us to use it. Elections matter.

Send Al Gore, Michael Moore and Rosie Odonnell to Africa. It will feed the continent for years.

Al looks like he just ate Jabba the Hut these days.

Texas vs Kalifornia. Good news is when the TXOKLAMS territory is created I have the North Central Visa concession. BJGers get free visas so long as they bring guns and ammo.

Well, I can furnish much of each, but we’ll need spare parts and new rounds eventually.

Where does TX get her metals?

Using energy as an issue with which to score some rhetorical points, Biden said that “the fact of the matter is, Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is ‘drill, baby, drill,’” according to The Hill. “It’s a lot more complicated, Sarah!”

For Joe Biden tying his shoes is complicated.

When the State of Michigan collapses after the divestiture we get all the ore we need. We control the Mississippi. Everything else we need in rare earth compounds we get just like the US did, we trade for it on the open market…

OK. This is a little techy but its critical stuff. A conservative has been doing reverse engineering on OFA. Well he’s dug up a doozy — link.

RWY, Not much, and what we have is poor quality. But that’s really not that much of an is. As Mullet points out, some 40-50% of a car is now recycled. That shiny Hyundai in the parking lot was a 2001 GMC once shredded and remade in Japan.

Talking about shredding. Check this video out. I particularly like the ‘If I drive weeeel slowwww maybe nobody will notice’ routine at the end.

FL has nothing to offer but beach, limestone, citrus, and mouse ears.

The other saving grace about having a car in Texas. If you be up in the hill country and away from the shores, cars last forever. That and out in the country most folks don’t figure style is all that necessary so any rustbucket is fine fer the ranch. Might want to keep one clean one around for styling with the Misses.

“Barite. Deposits of barite are widely distributed in Texas, but most are minor. They occur in Baylor, Brewster, Culberson, Gillespie, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Llano, Taylor, and other counties.”

I saw that in the link IP posted and thought right away that was wrong. I know for a fact that there is barlife everywhere in Texas. I get thrown out of enough of them. Then I saw it was Barite, not BarLife. My error!

Just read where the Democrats in Jersey are paying for Robo-Calls for Daggett…. the 3rd Party candidate. Daggett voters would be Christi voters, so the Dems don’t care how many votes he gets.

An utterly corrupt Governor, who mocked overweight people and is driving the State right over a cliff, may be elected by 40% of the voters. And IF elected by those 40%…he will immediately proclaim that he has a MANDATE!!

I’m still hoping that Hoffman can hold on…but it’s gonna be close!

JR – looks like the dems are trying to set up the tea party and blame them for giving elections to the dems. maybe hoping to convince them that this strategy won’t work.

TLS, I hadn’t thought of that. It’s a Two-Fer for them: Daggett helps them “win”, and they get to heap blame on us folks!

    Great analysis!!
