Have at it, BJG’ers. Lots to talk about…including turning America’s lawyers loose to try and get KSM off on a technicality! And the odds of them doing so are excellent!

I for one am sick of the Habeas Corpus argument when it comes to trying that monster (and others like him) on US soil. I think NY’ers are pissed, or should be.
[2]
They should be demanding his head on a platter, not that he be tried in NY civilian court like any other criminal.
[3]
the most common defense tactic is suppression of evidence! that tactic will be AIDED by the fact that our government cannot divulge many of the sources of evidence they have: because they will endanger those sources!
The lawyers know this!
Therefore the question is whether the scant amount of evidence that CAN be used will be enough!
I doubt it.
[4]
This administration if it had not already, just jumped the shark, in my view anyway.
[5]
The only silver lining I see,is that fewer prisoners will be taken, and it can’t help obammer’s popularity rating, especially if the shysters get him off.
[6]
I would love nothing more than to see KSM walk, acquitted. The Dems should be hoisted on their own petard, like always.
Why Bush didn’t have him shot 5 years ago, and all of them at GTMO, is a testament to his wandering mind and lack of focus, which was responsible for wrecking the R party and getting Obama elected.
[7]
Can’t have private funded X-mas parade in Amelia, OH out of fear of lawsuits.
Sounds to me like Christians living in fear, not Muslims.
[8]
If he does walk, I’m sure the US will give him a private plane ride back to his country of choice, and pay for his welcome home death to Amrika party too….
There is no bottom with the Dems in charge.
Of course I never thought I’d live to see the depths to which Bush sunk the R party, either.
[9]
#7:
[10]
He gets off and Obama should be a good sport and house him in the Lincoln Bedroom. He’d be “innocent” right?
[11]
“Why Bush didn’t have him shot 5 years ago”
—
No silly it had to do with this useful thing called intelligence value!
Why he wasn’t quickly tried and executed long after breaking and spilling all is another story entirely. Course that would have come with equally bad PR that I doubt would have been played to help any GOP member in 2006 or 2008.
[12]
Couldn’t he have just choked on his dinner or something? Just sayin.
[13]
He’s not getting off either, we’re just going to have to sit through the spectacle of this BS, not to mention the side agenda I’m sure they have of trying to re-open the lefts great enhanced interrogation issue BS.
Any chance this maybe get reversed and Holder thrown under the bus? LOL
.
.
Yes that last part was a joke.
[14]
Is all of this just some backhanded way of getting more anti-Bush camera time? Ignore healthcare and cap and trade……pay attention to mean meanie Bush and the nice happy loving
terrorist“dad like everyone else” he dropped water on![15]
I really think we should just encase them while still alive in concrete slabs… sort of Hans Solo crypto storage style… only we watch them drown, then we use the slabs in the building of the southern wall. But hey that’s just one crazy right wing radical teabagging bigoted racist’s opinion – I could be wrong.
[16]
14 – Weapons of Mass Distraction.
[17]
I finally agree with Janet Napaletano, right wing extremism is the greatest threat to THIS ADMINISTRATION. (I don’t think she worries about the rest of the country.)

Justice be done….
“KSM this will only hurt a bit.” the doc intones. “We just want to see you are immunized before returning you home.”
Meanwhile deep in the bowels of a nondescript room a computer screen pops with the single line — “Pappa Tango 1 acquired.” No human to be found. Slowly the line scrolls off the screen as further updates roll onward.
It is now January, heavy snows cover the passes of the NorthWest Pak territories. Many very impassible, others just barely. The weather waxes and wanes between 0 and -5C. Most men are in compounds away from the weather. Yet two sentries stand guard against the cold. Their Chinese AK-47’s limp at the shoulders like jewelry.
“Sergeant Combs watch those pylons. You clip another wing its coming out of your pay.” barked Captain Hanks. “Yes Sir” comes back as a bounce off the HD computer screen, the Sergeant rolling the cueball on the console to clear the pylons. Slowly in a whisper the X-55c lifts off for an undisclosed mission. Packed in its belly is a Gideon StS missile with a RFID chip seeker with an effective range of 20 klicks.
The X glides forward all night unattended aided only by the GPS systems circling overhead. At 0400 Zulu the X is traveling a predefined search path, sweeping 20 square klicks per second awaiting a signal that the Gideon has acquisition. Acquisition is confirmed at 0433 into the pattern.
Hanks is informed by iPhone that acquisition has been established. The Captain keys in a predefined launch auth code. Up comes Sgt Henderson, Combs shift replacement — “Verbal counter sign. First sequence…” Completed the Sgt twists the keylock and launches the Gideon. Small winglets snap to the horizontal and the Gideon is on its own. 12 klicks from TP. Gideon closing distance while gaining speed as it drops from angels 15. At 1 klick, Gideo pitches up, trading speed for altitude, executes a hammer stall at the apex. Hurtling vertically to target Gideon reaches terminal velocity in 3 seconds. One second later Gideon has punched through the earthen and tile roof, the second floor, and impales itself in the dirt floor. If the kinetic energy was not enough, the 2 kilo warhead explodes leveling the contents of the room.
CNN, “Confirm reports are that another Predator drone has attacked a high level AQ target…..”
So will end KSM’s pitiful life.
[20]
I have a guest post coming next week ( if mary allows it ) that will refute quite a bit of what ? has had to say on somethings. I heard a show on my Christian radio show re our founding fathers, it was fabulous.
tired of hearing lefties accuse social cons of wanting a theocracy ?
tired of being accused of imposing our religion ?
tired of hearing we need to take down the 10 commandment ?
If so, you will dig on this post.
It is not MY stuff and some of you are most loikely familiar with what I’m talkin about.
I was gonna do it 2-3 days ago but..

BOR has really been doing a great job covering Nasam and now the New York civil t5rials for terrorists. Tonight he was debating Dems Anthony Weiner and Jie Sestak. As O’Reilly said the thing will dxrag on for years, cost millions, air a lot of our dirty laundry and incite Muslims around the world. His rerun is just starting.

Central planning will tell you that you are entitled to many things. Liberty tells you that you are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; to whatever you earn, and nothing that you don’t. While it may seem harsh to some, we must look to basic economic truths and to history to see which model is cruel and which model is kind.
The truth is that central planning cannot provide for economic success like freedom can. Central planning makes promises it cannot possibly keep. We live in a world of unlimited wants and limited resources. If you put a massive and powerful government in charge of distributing those resources, it is not a surprise that government and those in bed with government are first in line for those resources. The poor and the middle class – the most hopeful and trusting – are hurt the most, as the state always underestimates their needs and overestimates their ability to pay taxes and absorb inflation.
The Soviet Union’s collapse is a dramatic example of the failure of central planning. Americans celebrated this collapse, not only because it meant less competition for Olympic gold, but it provided hope that with the end of the Cold War, our policy makers could drastically reduce overseas commitments and out of control military budgets. Most especially, we celebrated because with the collapse of Soviet communism it was apparent that liberty, not central planning, is stronger. Freedom empowers the individual. Central planning dehumanizes the masses. There may always be a struggle for power and government, but for this reason, freedom will always win out in the end.

The Chicago school is associated with neoclassical price theory and libertarianism in its support of radically lower taxation and private sector regulation, but differs from pure free-market economics in its support of government-regulated monetary policy.
The school rejected Keynesianism in favor of monetarism until the 1980s, when it turned to rational expectations. It has affected the field of finance by the development of the efficient market hypothesis. In terms of methodology the stress is on “positive economics” – that is, empirically based studies using statistics to prove theory.
Monetarists believe that government action is at the root of inflation, very few advocate a return to the gold standard. Friedman, for example, viewed the gold standard as highly impractical. For example, whereas one of the benefits of the gold standard is that the intrinsic limitations to the growth of the money supply by the use of gold or silver would prevent inflation, if the growth of population or increase in trade outpaces the money supply, there would be no way to counter-act deflation and reduced liquidity (and any attendant recession) except for the mining of more gold or silver under a gold or silver standard.
Monetarists also oppose fixed fiat currencies advocating the flexible fiat currency which has become standard in most countries.

from huffpro, excerpt from palin’s book :
During her vetting Schmidt plays it cool. When Palin admits “the one skeleton [she'd] kept hidden in [her] closet for the past twenty-two years,” Schmidt “didn’t bat an eye” — though he does “wince” when she mentions God. That oh-so-dark secret, incidentally, is a D-grade Palin received in a college course.
Palin complains of being “told to sit down and shut up” when she “spoke on the trail about Obama’s associations with questionable characters
sounds like steve schmidt was channeling his inner chekote
is it any wonder mccain lost ?

Looky looky what the AP is wasting 11 reporters time on, I mean one, two, three maybe… 11?
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/11/024946.php
My question is this, how many have they dedicated to reading the House’s recently passed health care bill and fact checking it against statements made by the president and members of congress?
[40]
“is it any wonder mccain lost ?”
—
Nope.
No doubt the Schmidt and Wallace will scratch back trying to down play this, but all these accounts match up with what was being reported at the time, specifically the Wallace\Couric thing, the same details came out during the campaign, and in that phone call to Rush she was more or less expressing she was being held back. Not that palin doesn’t have her faults but take her word over theirs any day because they simply make far more sense and match what we already know about how fked up that campaign was internally (even outside of palin).
[41]
I have been a strong palin supported. she has MANY options and choices she could select among a couple of choices are :
1.2012 run for prez as gop
2. 2012 run for prez as 3rd party
3. radio show like rush, beck only hers
4. a fox show of her own
5. campaign extensively for others in 2010 and 2012 and then run in 2016
6. speeches all over the place and books
she can make tons of money, she can keep growing her base and re-define herself instead of allowing the left wing smear machine to do that.
I think her best bet would be to give speeches and support conservative candidates of BOTH paerties ( not that there are many blue frauds worth supporting but if she can find even 1 or 2, it would send a message that she is about principles and policiesm and is BEYOND politics as usual, then in 2016 she could make a 3rd party run, uniting the country around the libertarian ideals mixed in with basic moral principles without pushing real hard on the social issues but more of a God and morality without any hard edge, just bais decency and love for one another etc.
[42]
KH,
Let them waste the billable hours. Let loose a 100 on the book. For every one that is staring at pages is 3-4 stories of falsehood that are not floating out there on the pages of pulp.
[43]
Tim- no, it is no wonder McCain lost, and there are days I question his wanting to win. Heck I question the whole thing. I don’t know a single person who wanted him during the primaries. I was stupefied that we were getting behind him.
Oh and your other post, I go with #5. I do NOT want her to run in 12, even though I love her to pieces. 16 is better.
