In Defense of Life: Window To The Womb
In May, I wrote the post, In Defense of Life: “Formed in Secret”, featuring a photograph of a developing baby within the womb with links and information about fetal development. I included this quote:
Nothing has been as damaging to our cause as the advances in technology which have allowed pictures of the developing fetus, because people now talk about that fetus in much different terms than they did fifteen years ago. They talk about it as a human being, which is not something that I have an easy answer how to cure.
Harrison Hickman, 1989 conference of the National Abortion Rights Action League.
The tiny fetus continues to defend his life. Today Gateway Pundit and Hot Air have carried the story of Abby Johnson, a Planned Parenthood director in Texas who has resigned.
…Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure.
“I just thought I can’t do this anymore, and it was just like a flash that hit me and I thought that’s it,” said Jonhson.
“…The money wasn’t in family planning, the money wasn’t in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that,” said Johnson.
Johnson said she was told to bring in more women who wanted abortions, something the Episcopalian church goer recently became convicted about.
“I feel so pure in heart (since leaving). I don’t have this guilt, I don’t have this burden on me anymore that’s how I know this conversion was a spiritual conversion.”
Johnson now supports the Coalition For Life, the pro-life group with a building down the street from Planned Parenthood….
KBTX also reports that Planned Parenthood filed for and was granted temporary restraining orders on both Johnson and Coalition For Life out of concern for “safety and confidentiality”. The hearing will be November 10.
As William Saletan wrote in Slate, April 28, 2007:
The fetus is squirming, and so are we.

At some point the willful suspension of disbelief will be impossible to sustain any further, and this barbaric evil will be shamed back into the dark corners of humanity. And perhaps, if technology and morality permit, even eliminated entirely. Something to hope for.
[2]
KBTX also reports that Planned Parenthood filed for and was granted temporary restraining orders on both Johnson and Coalition For Life out of concern for “safety and confidentiality”.
Restraining order for what? That information she knows about Planned Parenthood could be damaging? It would be poetic if “whistle blower” laws protected Abby Johnson — not that the DOJ would touch this with a 10 foot pole.
[3]
I hope so as well. The American citizen is easier to reach than Congress. Congress supports evil for votes and money. It made me ill to read that Debbie Stabenow said if abortion wasn’t included in health care it would be discriminatory against women.
[4]
mpt, KBTX quoting PP:
I seriously doubt Johnson will tell names or do anything to endanger anyone. PP must fear her knowledge of their policies and procedures!
[5]
Debbie Stabenow said if abortion wasn’t included in health care it would be discriminatory against women.
Do these feminist dimwits not realize that 50% of the aborted humans are female? Of course in China, the ratio is higher thanks to modern technology that allows for early sex testing.
[6]
PP is also trying to avoid negative publicity. Abortion has always been big $. Johnson’s resignation shine a spotlight that hits them in the wallet at the same time they’re standing in line to get more $ from health care.
[7]
I seriously doubt Johnson will tell names or do anything to endanger anyone. PP must fear her knowledge of their policies and procedures!
I had the same thoughts. They must really be scared of something as there clearly is more to this story that was in that news report.
[8]
mpt, the feminist dimwits don’t care about women–before or after birth. (See Ted Kennedy, silence re: Muslims, etc.) Their concern is $ and their leftist ideology.
In the case of Debbie, bring in votes.

the feminist dimwits
INC, generally speaking your posts are void of redundancies. I felt it was my duty to point this one out.
[10]
Sorry, I was just quoting mpt!
I’ll try to be more careful!

INC, STABinow in aptly named.
All the social ills in this country (abortion, crime, homosexuality, etc) can be blamed on the Democrat party. The root of evil brought upon this nation comes from a simple majority of nine robed men, who determined via Roe v Wade that the unborn are not persons, to twice determining the death penalty to be unconstitutional to curtailing freedom of speech rights.
I wrote a college thesis about ten years ago on the ills brought forth from the US Supreme Court, including the statistical spike in abortions immediately following Roe, the statistical spike in homicides immediately following the determination that the death penalty was unconstutional, (again, twice) (There was something else, but my mind is blank on what it was). Anyway, every bit of what has happened to this country in regards to its social ills happened because the Democrats held politics and personal gain above the country. Liberals have been nominating and placing leftists in the Supreme Court since the country’s inception. It was only a matter of time before these type of “people” would wreck the very foundation of the country. When we have unprincipled people who don’t have to answer to anybody but themselves, this is what happens.
Pray the 4 remaining humans stay healthy for another 3 years.
[12]
#3 INC – You’re right, the Stabenow commit made me ill as well. It is right up there with Dianne Feinstein’s commit on why we can’t overturn Roe v. Wade: “Women all over America have come to depend on it.” pointed out by Ann Coulter in Godless.
[13]
TLS, “Godless” was a phenomenal book. I thought I was aware of everything the left was capable of, but Coulter had me shaking my head throughout the read.
[14]
Tony, that must have been a terrific paper!
[15]
Indeed, INC. Indeed.
Sadly, since I didn’t use Carbonite, so I don’t have it anymore.
[16]
Oh, no!
I have one paper I saved from college–I typed it on a manual typewriter, believe it or not!
[17]
I saved nothing.
Oddly, I found a college paper crammed away in a textbook while cleaning out my office one day.
It was very strange to read it–it seemed like a completely different person had written, which, I suppose, was true.

Ginsburg has been in the hospital twice in the last month or so, so all indications are that she would be the next out for health reasons. It wouldn’t change the makeup of the court if Obama ended up appointing a replacement for her, other than that he would probably have a hard time finding someone as far left as she is!
[19]
INC,
You ever look back at some of your writing from College or whatever and notice anything different about yourself? I do sometimes and think, ‘God, did I write that? What was I smoking?
[20]
PG, I had not read your post 17 when I was writing my last post. Hmm.
[21]
‘Ginsburg has been in the hospital twice in the last month or so, so all indications are that she would be the next out for health reasons. This is why I said several weeks ago that it is a good thing that Cass Sunstein is a regulatory czar.
We do not need a leftist Scalia on SCOTUS. Another leftist moron like the Latina will be fine.
[22]
TLS…I think he is looking at Michael Moore to replace Ginsberg. Michael is balking a bit as it also requires a sex change operation.
[23]
Well, guys, I hate to say this, but the paper is consistent with who I am today.
[24]
We often don’t realize how much we dynamically change during the course of our lifetime, since it is happening relatively slowly.
In a similar, we don’t notice the physical changes in people we see every day, but if we only occasionally see a person, we notice changes immediately since they are compared to the memory that we had.
[25]
INC–the exception to the rule!
[26]
bc – ROFL!
[27]
Another leftist moron like the Latina will be fine.–PG
I will have to refer to my Spanish dictionary but I believe the correct term is “morona”.
[28]
#26 sorry, meant bruce, laughing too hard to type

Excellent post as always, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention!
