It’s 4:30 EST, do you know where your Senator is?
with regard to voting to open debate on health care.
Call.
D.C. phones appear to be overloaded, and that means America is hot on their heels. In calling my Democrat senator I could not even get through to Jax, Orlando, Tampa or a Tallahassee office. I had to call an office in the Democrat stronghold of Southeast Florida to reach a person.
Don’t let them interrupt you or talk over you. Remind them that you are the boss.
If you have time call some other senators.
“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.”
–George Washington, letter to Philip Schuyler, 1777

I tried earlier (about 2:30-3pm) to contact Nelson I was getting busy signals – they probably just took their phone off the hook.
[2]
RedState had an internal Senate email up saying they were having a “high volume of calls”.
[3]
thanks for the full list of links.
I got through to Landrieu’s office, and very nice staffer listened politely. I doubt my call outweighed the $100 million that Reid offered…but we ALL need to keep trying!
[4]
FYI, Wiki has an article, United States Senate elections, 2010, with a list and map.
[5]
Why yes, as a matter of fact I do know where my Senators are:
Arlen Specter – having his diaper changed in the bathroom of a local KFC.
Bobby Casey – searching hither and yon for a personality.
[6]
What time do the whore houses open
[7]
Sure, I know where my senators are. I am from Michigan.
Carl Levin sleeps 23 hours a day so ….
Debbie Stabenow is posing for her January Playmate of the Month spread.
[8]
What time do the whore houses open
~IP
playtime or paytime,
depending on your perspective.
[9]
A brawl the GOP needs
[10]
They’re not listening. Lincoln is the only holdout, and she will probably fold.
Never give up, but it’s clear they are not listening.
[11]
Why would they listen to us? We are plebs, quite clearly.
The Federation of Amerika has officially begun. RIP to The United States of America.
[12]
MD!
Why do you continue to torture yourself at the HHR?
[13]
I am into self-pain. What can I say?
Wes is making noise about starting his own blog and having ? as a featured writer.
I am praying for that to come to fruition.
[14]
as soon as this abonimation passes both Houses…and I fear it will…THAN all these whores will start:
protesting out of control spending!!
-and-
proclaiming themselves champions of freedom!!!
-and-
demanding more accountability in government!!
blah blah blah
in other words: They will move into “Re-Elect ME!” mode
[15]
There is already a blog with ? as a featured writer. See Frum
[16]
Just,
There is one little problem with that – Hussein Chavez wants amnesty next.
[17]
“I am praying for that to come to fruition.”
—
You and me both, course that doesn’t necessarily mean the ch1t shoveling will stop, put if anything at least it should be reduced.
[18]
I actually like Wes’ “links”. Just to be clear, I think Wes is OK although he has the wrong impression of this site. Screw it – doesn’t matter in the end.
[19]
CT -
I looked at Frum’s site for the first time in weeks. Didn’t see “?” but about one-third of the articles were geared at making Sarah Palin look bad.
[20]
Wes, Jason and Polaris are all fairly good conservatives. We had a spat about Terri Schaivo, so what?
My contention is her 14th amend. rights were being grossly violated, and the congress passed Terri’s Law to try and get the facts of the case aired, after the appeals courts treated the whole affair like a joke and dodged the issue.
Polaris, by far the most logical debater of the three, held that as unconstitutional and essentially a bill of attainder.
I disagreed, because the law mandated no conclusion or verdict in any way, nor even required a de novo review, but merely asked for one, and authorized it.
Further, I believe FL statutes were so obviously violated, that the courts were scandalously political in denying her complaint on those grounds, and the denial of reassignment of guardianship.
But Wes, in particular, seems like a crybaby, because he won’t argue or make his case, he just wants to be greeted as a hero for his opinion.
[21]
And further, I did not base my opinion of the Schaivo case on any Bible verse or religious precept, merely my interpretation of the declaration of Independence’s assertion of “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” as an inalienable right, and also my reading of history and what is possible when society begins to rationalize killing off the sick.
By this I mean the culture of death’s public airing of all their pathology during the case, not in particular the withholding of care for those who have specifically and repeatedly requested to be denied that care, in accordance with the law.
[22]
So I disagree strongly with Polaris’ assertion that those who supported Terri were necessarily advocating an “authoritarian theocracy”, to use his ridiculous term.
[23]
Dennis Miller had a great intro to the second part of his radio interview with Sarah Palin today—–
“and now here is Sarah Palin who is twice the woman that David Brooks is!”
[24]
22, I’m with you Batman!
[25]
It was Polaris who stated his religion openly, not I, when he went on and on about his pro-choicedness and his atheism, and his moderate status which was boring to the point of wishing I had MY feeding tube pulled.
I am athiest
I am a moderate
I am pro choice
bla bla bla bla….
“Im a bitch Im a lover Im a child Im a mother , ” so what, put a sock in it.
And finally the laughably insane thing about Polaris’ arg was that the Terri case was SUCH a TRAVESTY because congress got involved, that he and his ilk had to scamper over to the Dems in 2006 and 2008…..
LOL.
Yeah where they NEVER legislate their version of morality. And how’s that working out for you, genius?
whatever…..
Anyway, no hard feelings over any of it, and ? behaved like a lunatic as usual.
[26]
#11 Uh, no that “People’s Republik of CrappyCare” lol
[27]
“and now here is Sarah Palin who is twice the woman that David Brooks is!”
Give him time….. (to realize his crime)
[28]
Bruce,
Do You Really Want to Hurt …Him???
Do you really want to um, make him cry?
lol…
TV has “The Wedding Singer” on….
[29]
Speaking of President Palin, I spoke to my best friend from high school today and he said there was a book signing in town… first 1.000 people get …
quite a lot of EXCITEMENT she generates
[30]
#25 This one is for you – yep, the democrats can summon some awesome government force when they wanna legislate their morality and secular religion (socialism/statism)
Yep, the vote on Sat appears to be for the whole bag of marbles. Too bad we will probably get more Americans attending a minor college football game then voicing their opinions are the legislation that will turn us into the “People’s Republik of CrappyIstan”.
In any case, here is another good article that exposes those hypocritics on the left:
http://townhall.com/Common/PrintPage.aspx?g=abfb7234-0346-4e7f-8891-56fca6569b96&t=c
“Who’s Legislating Morality Now?
Andrew Tallman
And when I say states should be free to make laws concerning adultery, homosexual behavior, contraception, or premarital sex, I am accused again of trying to legislate morality.
Yet when Barack Obama and the Democrats propose making it a crime to not carry health insurance, no one seems to notice that they are very aggressively trying to legislate morality.
In fact, the same people who object to my proposed legislations of morality seem to think it’s a wonderful virtue that he wants to do so many “good” things for the poor people who can’t currently get health insurance. And if that plan entails criminalizing the decision to forego such insurance, well, why wouldn’t we fine people or put them in jail for refusing to repent of their obstinate immorality in obstructing such a virtuous social project?”
Yep their morality is strictly culuture of death:
Environment/AlGoringWarming – promblem: too many people! Need less of them
HC – Problem: Costs too much. Particularly end of life care (that 75% thing). Need to ration SRs – they die early – costs less. “Problem births” – costs too much, yep need “womens reproductive services” – babies cost too much (also see the envirionment).
Gas – Too many people buying it. solution: less people…
I could go on and on but you guys get the point I think…..
And it will be all so Technocratic and clnical too. NOOOOO human will ever tell you that you are marked for death – it will all be done with numbers and spreadsheet with decesion made by a small group of political elites/technocrats…..
This is truly a sick and sad vision of the world.
[31]
They’re not listening.- RWY
if they would take the wax out of their ears, they might hear better…
Stand up Chuck…
whatamisayin…
[32]
Polaris is fine by me, I don’t know why he even chose to engage in that dustup but he did. Polaris will not always agree with you but unlike some other people he does not go out of his way to be argumentative or create lame drama over nothing etc, he keeps what we all have in common in mind.
Wes’s view of this site is delusional, as is the level of BDS he has, having said that he passes pretty links and more often then not has interesting input.
Why are we talking about them though?
? the plant I understand, the others I’d just drop it.
[33]
More like – Move out of the way of my motorcade or you may wind up like Chuck!
[34]
Well, there is a theocracy thread up. So JOIN THE THEOCRACY!
[35]
I actually like Wes’ “links”- MD
translation : I still enjoy ( I am a man, after all ) looking at Playboy type photos of women that are very attractive physically. I lust after attractive woman and I am proud of it.
[36]
MD!
Why do you continue to torture yourself at the HHR?
Eph
Eph I saw ghost 3 over there the other day.
[37]
I have 10 poems ready for pithy poetry night but I was informed that the event is a monthly event and NOT a weekly event. I had just invited Hellbelly to come play with us when I was so informed.
Perhaps I shall share one of my gems tonight.
[38]
Sharp2edgedsword, rhyme away, my friend.
Pithey Poetry night is AT LEAST once a month…more when there is pent-up demand!
[39]
Holy crap! The ghosts are back!
[40]
OK, RAND, let me review my works and select one. BRB
[41]
Don Quixote said he was “locked and loaded”
When Knova heard THAT, his head exploded
They both drew their swords
and battled to the death
at the end of the day,
only DQ was left
[42]
RWY and Polaris, they did fight
each one insisting that they were right
withm inds sharp as steel
they fought hard and strong
trying to prove his opponent was wrong
they debated over Terri and not JustMary
over laws, morality and religion too
I enjoyed it, how bout you ?
[43]
well ?
[44]
“Eph I saw ghost 3 over there the other day.”
Not me, absolutely not
[45]
Sharp-
THROW OBAMA UNDER THE BUS!
AND KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY UTERUS!!!
[46]
eph, what does the torah say about forgiveness ?
[47]
The Torah keeps telling us to repent, seek forgiveness
by Rabbi Pinchas Lipner
Nitzavim Vayeilech
Deuteronomy 29:9 – 31:30
Isaiah 61:10 – 63:9
The fundamental motif of the parashah of Nitzavim is perfectly appropriate for the season now approaching — the High Holy Days. The theme is that of tshuvah, repentance. The ability of a Jew to wipe the slate clean of previous wrongdoing is one of the greatest gifts that the Almighty has given us. Although a person who has sinned logically deserves punishment, our Heavenly Father encourages him only to acknowledge his error, confess it (to G-d) and sincerely resolve to improve himself to the extent that he will not repeat his offense in the future. This will lead to complete forgiveness.
[48]
Sharp, GREAT POEMS!!!!
[49]
Knova left the site because of guns? I thought he was a 2nd amend guy?
[50]
our Heavenly Father encourages him only to acknowledge his error
do you have any evidence that ? is a man, or had an abortion ?
[51]
What a shame, I liked Knova…
Knova! Come back!
[52]
rightwingyahoo, knova left the site because he flamed out in a tirade. he is glad he left hhr. he now posts very obsessionally at rightpundits.
knova and dq argued over the severity of the “crisis” that is the socialism and possible totalitarianism of the administration. Knova’s position is that the American people are too smart to be fooled and allow themselves to lose their freedoms and that Obama would simply become a 1 term president. While DQ and others argued that it could become a civil war of sorts and that if that became the case, he was ready, being ” locked and loaded”
[53]
ok, so, that was too much for Knova? Surely he realizes what our forefathers did to break from England……..
[54]
48- thanks RWY
. As Joe Gondolfo used to say, God I’ll give you the glory and I’ll take the commissions.
[55]
Isaiah 61:10 – 63:9 is NOT part of the Torah, is it ? I thought you said the Torah was only the first 5 books ?
[56]
All gun owners should know why the 2nd amendment was written, IMO… and it was not about self defense or hunting.
Well, I still like Knova. While most of us know that war is horrible, some simply cannot look it in the face.
Even ? figured that out. Once, when she was still here, she said that now that she sees what Obama is doing, she understood the 2nd amendment better.
I was floored. I could have kissed her abortion loving cheeks, both of them.
But of course she is a lunatic just the same…..
[57]
very obsessionally at rightpundits
i apologize, the word i meant was “occasionally “
[58]
knova is a good guy. he is a moderate on social issues but so what. he is solid on economics, finance, individual rights , and the core economic values of “producers”
in general he is very articulate and is usually quite easy to get along with. he rarely goes out of his way to pick fights with social cons, preferring simply to state his own views and to engage in reasoned logical debate.
[59]
KNNOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVAAAAAAAAA!
[60]
i think if we send eph out under deep cover, he might be able to locate knova and persuade him to come back. knova is quite fond of eph.
[61]
i know i said it befoe but the snoopy jew gravitar cracks me up.
[62]
snoopy jew?
