“Let’s Roll!”
Where lives were lost, lives will be remembered today: the USS New York is being commissioned, and today in Pennsylvania the groundbreaking will occur for the Flight 93 National Memorial.
This week at Fort Hood, more Americans died in a terrorist attack within our country since 9/11. What an ignominy it is that as families and friends remember those who died fighting back the terrorist attack of September 11th, the media and the government denies the reality of Hasan’s jihad.
Yet the heroes of United Flight 73 are remembered by ordinary, everyday Americans because it is the story of ordinary, everyday Americans who not only inspired us, but rallied us to fight.
We will remember you with gratitude.

The Bushes went to Fort Hood last night to visit the wounded and families. They asked for no press coverage.
[2]
That’s cause they have some class.

‘The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.’ – G. K. Chesterton
[4]
TLS, great Chesterton quote!

Meanwhile, Dan Riehl has this: (via a HA comment)
Update: Bush Visits Fort Hood! – Obama To Camp David, Not Fort Hood???

[7]
I see they changed the memorial from an abomination to something beautiful and inspiring. The original design had a CRESCENT built into it. No kidding.
[8]
I remember hearing about the crescent thing……wth!
Oh and we cannot fully know what the motive was?
What is going on with this country!
[9]
I hate to disagree, but in my opinion, most of the American people have already forgotten. Muslim extremist groups like CAIR have really benefitted from 9-11 by comvinvincing our politically correct society that virtually any criticism of Islam or Islamic extremism is Islamophobia.
Our governmental agenciues, including school boards, have given Islam special treatment and privileges that no other religion enjoys.
[10]
that’s right.
[11]
As a person “without an dogs in this fight” with regards to religion in American it is painfully obvious to me that virtually all other religions have special treatment and privileges in this country over Christians. I haven’t a clue as to why this allowed.
[12]
Ralph Peters, in an emotionally charged interview on Fox, called the Fort Hood attack, an undisputable terrorist attack on US soil, the first of magnitude since 9/11. He was livid that the media and Obama were glossing over the facts.
In closing, he said it made him want to puke. I think they cut him off intentionally.

December 8, 1941…President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressing a joint session of Congress:
“Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 — a date which will live in confusion — the United States of America was suddenly and perhaps accidentally attacked by naval and air forces that may or may not have been from the Empire of Japan.
The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Therefore it seems unlikely that Japan would have attacked us.
No matter how long it may take us we will discover who did this…and then endeavor to understand their motives. Perhaps it was our fault…in fact that seems most likely considering what an evil place we are.
I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we must NOT jump to conclusions.
I ask that the Congress immediately hold hearings, establish commissions, and generally look concerned, at least and until the American people get distracted, at which point we can forget about the whole thing.“
[14]
‘I haven’t a clue as to why this allowed.’
Because the Left, which occupies many positions of power, particularly those of popular culture, knows that one of the fundamental pillars of this nation’s founding was JudeoChristian theology.
It must be destroyed to destroy the nation, just as the private sector must be, and is being, destroyed.

[16]
No, no, no, artist–don’t you realize that Chris Matthews of the deeply furrowed brow has already informed the unwashed masses that we can never know if religion played a role?
Don’t be such a hater and a racist.
This is a time for self-contemplation and reflection about what we have done to make Muslims so angry.
[17]
fedupartist, tsk…tsk…tsk
phineas gage is right, the verdict is IN on this incident: Not a terrorist act, not no way, not no how!
[18]
Ok, I reflected and gazed at the navel.
The SOB was a Jihadist. Worse he hid amongst his prey then attacked them in their most vulnerable time. Death to the like of him. Its survival, not politics in play here.
[19]
The hysterical denial by the Left is actually rather interesting.
Recall how when 9-11 happened, and Clinton was moaning about it should have happened during his presidency and how he missed his moment for greatness?
If they wanted to prove their bona fides, they would be all over this and connecting the dots to 9-11.
But they are not. Because they approve of it. I will guarantee you that there was chuckling and laughing going on in newsrooms on Friday as reports about the Fort Hood Massacre came in. I guarantee it.
A Muslim wasting American military personnel is a GOOD thing in the eyes of the Left and this president.
I guarantee you that.
And I frankly don’t care who is offended.
[20]
Linked to those behind 9/11? How the hell was he allowed into the military? Are we that desperate for recruits or too pc to protect not only our country but also the fellow men and women in uniform? The left is completely brainless for glossing over everything these people do. What is it they say about someone who feeds a crocodile?
[21]
Terrorism, straight up. Plain and Simple.
[22]
so Hasan “snapped” because he was:
EFFECTED by his counseling of troops returning from Iraq/Afgan
EFFECTED by his orders to a combat zone
EFFECTED by harrassment from coworkers about his ethnicity
EFFECTED by his beliefs about the war against Islam
NOT EFFECTED by a radical Imam preaching daily about death to infidels
[23]
Time for sensitivity training for all troops to handle Islam and Muslims with care.
Delicate cycle only. Do not combine or mix with others. Fragile.
(hope they don’t have a problem with Woolite . . . )

Nice Deckard!
