Not saying that I have definative insider knowledge either, but know the Army’s counterinsurgency doctrine and having worked these sorts of things before McCrystal got about everything he asked for…..commanders always ask for a bit for then they need in order hopefully get what they want if that makes sense….this was the minimum number of new troops he needed for his “low risk” counterinsurgency strategy…..he got 4 BCTs of Combat Troops…
Of course, the military is like everyone else, they would wanted an unlimited ammount of troops and resources if needed but that aint possible in military ops or HC lol
I am not saying any of this in defense of Obama, etc but you gotta call em as you see em…..Obama was wrong to hem and haw so much as it showed lack of resolve…..but essetially he did the right think and mainly followed the advice of the professionals…..as much as it nausated me to say this, for whatever motivation he did the right thing in this case even if it was, as I think, simply for crass political reason…..
But yeah, this guy has zero clue about militray affairs nor any respect for those who do……anyone of those serving in uniform are worth 20 dudes like Obama who has been all talk his whole life IMHO

There’s always the “Islamaphobia” boogieman. Can you name a single Muslim who has been killed by a Christian in the U.S. as a result of Islamapohbia? I seem to remember about 3,000 killed by Islamic extremists about eight years ago. There’s Hasan, the DC snipers, etc.
There was the cab driver in Texas who murdered his two daughters, and the guy in Phoenix who ran his daughter down with a Jeep because she was becoming too “westernized.” If you don’t want yoiur daughter becoming “westernized,” why dkid you bring her to the west?
Then there was the moderate Muslim with the TV show from Buffalo who beheaded his wife.

Yeah Bob – the Christian faith has its share of religious nuts – it’s called the Fred Phelps family in Topeka Kansas – and every Christian worth his/her salt has denounced them and their hate-filled diatribes. Except for them, I can’t think of any others off the bat.
So it’s not about Islam. Then why is Rushdie still in hiding? There must have been another reason for setting fire to the Danish Embassies in Syria, Lebanon and Iran, storming European buildings, and desecrating the Danish, Dutch, Norwegian and German flags in Gaza City as a result of cartoons in the Danish newspaper in a part of Europe where freedom of the press barely still exists. Not Islam? Then Faleh Al-Maleki must have run over his 20 year old daughter in Phoenix – KILLING her – because – OOOPS – she just appeared out of nowhere and he couldn’t swerve fast enough to miss her. Not Islam? Then there must be another reason why the openly gay and self described “outlandish provocateur” director of the movie “2012″ Roland Emmerich depicted the destruction of St. Peter’s in Rome and the statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooking Rio in the flick but decided against the demise of the Kaaba in Mecca – even though he is quoted as being against organized religion.
