Media & Administration: Greatest Tragedy of Ft. Hood Is Possible Backlash

2009 November 8
by bc3b

Barack Obama was very insensitive about the Ft. Hood massacre, going about business as usual at a briefing. Obama also urged Americans not to jump to conclusions. Of course, Obama will now be travelling to Ft. Hood for a memorial service to save face. “Big Sis” Janet Napalitano is concerned about a possible backlash.

newsbusters.org has been working overtime to document many of the MSM news and opinion shows that show absolutely no concern about the dead, the wounded and their families, but are concerned because the alleged murderer was Muslin. MSNBC’s newest village idiot Dylan Ratigan says  no one should be concerned about Hasan’s religion. Let me assure you Dylan, if Hasan were a fundamentalist Christian, you and your fellow propagandists would be harping about it 24/7.

Here’s a sampling. I got tired of posting links.

They wish his name was Smith so they could attack him as a conservative Christian and say God, guns and republicans are the threat.

The left has long since become Dhimmis.

But that’s ok, because they convince few.

Just saw a related piece via Glenn R. This is at The Atlantic, believe it or not:

    When Muslims Commit Violence

I am not arguing, of course, that American Muslims, as a whole, are violently unhappy with America (I’ve argued the opposite, in fact). But I do think that elite makers of opinion in this country try very hard to ignore the larger meaning of violent acts when they happen to be perpetrated by Muslims. Here’s a simple test: If Nidal Malik Hasan had been a devout Christian with pronounced anti-abortion views, and had he attacked, say, a Planned Parenthood office, would his religion have been considered relevant as we tried to understand the motivation and meaning of the attack? Of course. Elite opinion makers do not, as a rule, try to protect Christians and Christian belief from investigation and criticism. Quite the opposite. It would be useful to apply the same standards of inquiry and criticism to all religions.

    Saw that, INC.

    The un-intelligentcia march in lockstep.

If the guy had left a video specifically saying he was doing this for Islam, the narrative wouldn’t have changed. It would be, and will always be, America’s fault.

The press are rump riders. They won’t see the light, individually, till some terrorist is sawing at their neck.

This is worse–this is at Pamela Geller’s Atlas Shrugs. General George Casey, U.S. Army chief of staff, was on CNN and talking with George S on ABC today–worried that speculation about Hasan being a terrorist could”cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I’ve asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that”

You’d think he might tell Army leaders to be on the lookout for Muslim soldiers who argue and rejoice when American soldiers are killed.

Can you imagine the field day the press would have if a sleeper Al Quida cell, hung a poor Muslim and stuck a note to him that said ” don’t tread on me ” or ” this is payback for Fort Hood”.

The left wing press would go into full throttle attack mode.

The DHS would find some militia group to harass or arrest.

Obama and the left wing press and blogosphere would jump out quickly condemning this ” hate crime ” and blame Beck, Limbaugh, the “tea baggers”, Palin, Levin, Hannity, Bachman etc, etc.

There would be no ” let’s get all the facts “

Don’t jump to conclusions. It’s bs.

Of coarse there is a backlash against Muslims, they are attacking us!!!the WH and MSM think American has no common sense what-so-ever. Per my own post from a previous thread, you want us to believe Hasan “snapped” because he was:

EFFECTED by his counseling of troops returning from Iraq/Afgan
EFFECTED by his orders to a combat zone
EFFECTED by harrassment from coworkers about his ethnicity
EFFECTED by his beliefs about the war against Islam
    EFFECTED by lack of healthcare

NOT EFFECTED by a radical Imam preaching daily about death to infidels

    Sweet Jesus!

you’re laying on the ground having your entrails eaten by a pack of hyenas, and the SPCA is hollering at you: “Don’t hate ALL hyenas“.

OK, I won’t. But can I at least take a poke at the ones gnawing on me?

I tried finding evidence of ANY Muslims killed in the U.S. based on their religion since 9/10/2001. I could NOT find any!

Lots of Jews killed by Muslims, Christians killed by Muslims…but no Muslims killed. If there were any I would stunned if it is more than one or two.

Certainly not THOUSANDS! Like 9/11 and now Ft. Hood

That would make an interesting website. A memoriam of the Muslims killed by unbelievers, the circumstances, and details on the attacker and their religious affiliation.

It’s too bad that it’s gotten so ideologically incorrect to just call a “spade a spade,” without first going through a news agency’s spam filter.

Anything to do with ethnicity or ordained minorities is gently caught and covered over. Other less PC groups, or representatives of those groups, are put through the wringer and destroyed by the press piling on to cover a story that may not even be much of a story.

    Knight,

I really do like Knova. He took a position and people were hitting him hard on that position. He never did answer my question. Sometimes, when cornered he could get a little obnoxious. I am guilty of the same at times so I recognize the behavior. For a while, his alter ego yesterday was funny.

In the era of “cat and mouse” political gamemanship that we seem to be living in, it was interesting to read a thread in polipundit dealing with Joseph Cao and his dissenting vote in HC. Is it too far-fetched? Anyway, to me it seems to be either tongue-in-cheek speculation, or plain old spin!

Boy this has got to hurt the Leftist crowd. Scientists find that sugar consumption in worms shortens their life span. What’s a Leftist to do?

    – If they tax sugary drinks then we all live longer and blow the curve on the HC costs.
    – If they don’t tax sugary drinks, well then they lose all that luscious near term revenue.

    What a problem to have.
