Palin Attacks AP via Facebook

Really? Still Making Things Up?
The book tour starts this week, and I look forward to it! I’m most looking forward to meeting many of you, shaking your hands, and telling you,”Thanks for loving America.” I’ll give you a scoop here and tell you what’s on the book’s Dedication Page – it’s dedicated to you – Patriots – who love the U.S.A. as much as I do.

Amazingly, but not surprisingly, the AP somehow nabbed a copy of the book before it was released. They’re now erroneously reporting on the book’s contents and are repeating many of the same things they spewed during the campaign and afterwards. We’ve heard 11 writers are engaged in this opposition research, er, “fact checking” research! Imagine that – 11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using the time and resources to “fact check” what’s going on with Sheik Mohammed’s trial, Pelosi’s health care takeover costs, Hasan’s associations, etc. Amazing.

We’ll keep setting the record straight, and we’ll keep reminding some in the media that Americans are very tired of their non-objective reporting. A great, recent post that accomplishes this is a Conservatives4Palin post. It’s got some nice fact checking included. As always, they did a great job holding some of the media accountable for spreading more misinformation and for making things up. You can read it here. Enjoy!

And I can’t wait to see you! God bless the fight for freedom! Keep up the great work, Patriots who love this country.

- Sarah Palin

Can anyone recall any politician before who openly took on the leadership of both parties and the media at the same time?

The next few months are going to be very interesting as Sarah Palin reintroduces herself to the country on her terms.

    Palin is making no missteps.

Whoever is doing the strategic thinking for her, and Palin herself, are working a deliberate plan toward establishing her credibility. The dems and the media are powerless to stop it.

    It is something to see.

She is 100% correct. They did nothing to fact check Obama before during or after his campaign (oh who am I kidding, he is still campaigning). They aren’t looking into ACORN or any of the dangers facing the country today. But hell no are they going to let Palin get a book out without their expert eyes perusing every page looking for dirt! Morons.

Palin, Tea Parties, and the real meaning of the 2008 election. 3 things the Media & Dems just don’t get…and the Repubs only BARELY get.

    (1) Palin is a REAL person, and Americans are ready for one! And she is NOT what Katie Couric and SNL portrayed her to be.
    (2) the Tea Parties are REAL grass-roots! Not Union/ACORN/Dem hirelings…but REAL people!
    (3) 2008 was about BUSH! It was NOT a refutation of Conservatism and most certainly NOT a signal that Americans were just “dying for Socialism!”

until and unless the Dems & media (redundant, I know) wake up to that, 2010 is going to be an election bloodbath!

You will start hearing heads (Dems and RINOs) explode starting Tuesday. If her appearance on Oprah draws big numbers, she will really be in demand on all the talk shows. It’s going to be tough for MSM to filter her message (although I am sure they will try) when she is speaking directly to the American people.

Who else could have withstood the constant media attacks and frivilous lawsuits after giving birth to a Down Syndrome baby and discovering her daughter got knocked up by the biggest slimeball in Alaska?

If you are planning to go to Palin’s book signing in Grand Rapids, I read this on FR:

“As far as the Grand Rapids, Michigan book signing. I was talking to a buddy of mine in Grand Rapids, the bookstore told her they are expecting AT LEAST 10,000+ to show up and you better come at least 5 hours early.”

    Question –

How many reporters does it take to screw up the fact checking of a Politican’s book?

    Ans –

Usually 1-2 editors, 1 reporter, 1 copy boy, 8 Intel servers.

AP however. 11 reporters, 132 editors, 9 copy boys, 143 Mac Mini’s (PC’s are sooooo confusing.), 7 4core Dell servers, an unlimited expense account at Woo Fat Chinese Emporium, a subscription to Coffees of the World, 2 yrs worth of back issues to Field and Moose, the latest release of Jane’s Small Firearms of the World, and of course an airbrush artist on call just in case. Oh and a Facebook account, anonymous of course.

What gets me about him is he claims to be an evangelical and then talks about money like that s all that matters, and the government should take over health care to help his bottom line.

Then he dares to speak about principle.

My take on the markets is that people are buying an asset that they believe is going to be worth more than what their dollars will be worth later.

Economists would define inflation as your money being worth less tomorrow than what it is worth today. Do any of you believe your money is going to be worth more tomorrow than what it is today?

I wonder if Palin will ever be able to get out of the media trenches where they simply “report” on her, inquire more about her policy ideas rather than simply trying to tear her down 24/7.

There is always so much drama surrounding Palin —> her family
(Levi), her 2008 campaign (McCain’s stooges), and now her book.

There’s so many vital and important issues in the world today. Why not dig into these, and determine what is Palin’s comprehension of said issues, instead of turning every moment into a Palin soap opera!

I think we are both maybe saying similar things. That word “obsession” really fits the whole Palin phenomena, because she really has become a household name by people either over-the-top loving her or over-the-top hating her.

It concerns me, though, how such flamboyance, coupled with intensity, will help propel and eventually unify our country in a better direction, should she ever hold national office. Being different isn’t always helpful. Just look at Obama and how much bad press he has gotten from his different way of greeting people —> the bow.

Being traditional, knowing diplomacy, having a gentile nature is part and parcel of good leadership too, just as being assertive and going against the grain, is also a necessary leadership skill. So far Sarah seems to be leaning on her the “rogue” part of her personality. I am now looking for the creative, competent and disciplined Sarah to emerge.

    - #1 in Yahoo searches
    - Book is already into a second printing and hasn’t even been released yet
    - She has already been interviewed by Opran and Barbara Walters
    - Newsweek has devoted its cover to attacking her
    - Barnes & Noble in Grand Rapids is attracting a crowd of 10,000
    - AP has 11 people dedicated to fact-checking her book

In 18 months Sarah Palin has: given birth to a Down Syndrome baby, discovered her unmarried daughter is pregnant, traveled across the country campaigning for VP while breastfeeding a baby and stopping the campaign bus so her kids could go trick of treating, been attacked by MSM on a non-stop basis, had a son serving in Iraq, had nearly 20 frivilous lawsuits (in conjunction with the DNC) filed against her, had her church destroyed by arson, got the natural gas pipeline approved, forced to resign because of personal financial hardship, took out a loan on her house to pay legal bills, wrote a book and is going on a national book tour, been the subject of rumors about her marriage breaking up, led attacks against Obama, health care, cap and trade and other issues via Facebook and op-eds. And, she is taking on both parties and the media.

Yet, she just keeps going. How many of us could have handled this without giving up or having a nervious breakdown?

Yet, she just keeps going. How many of us could have handled this without giving up or having a nervious breakdown?

Very few. Sarah IMHO has a solid set of core beliefs and a faith in God that sustain her. Until she became the target of the left she had very broad bi-partisan support in Alaska.

The dems and the left FEAR her, and for good reason. She is not afraid to take the heat. I have struggled with trying to understand the intensity of the vitriol that the left heaps on hereven AFTER she left public office.

Why are they so afraid of her ?

Why is it so important to them that she be destroyed ?

Why do some women absolutely HATE her ( my wife is one of these that hate her )

Are women jealous of her ? If so, is it because she is attractive ? Is it because she is a man’s woman because she is not only attractive but loves sports and hunting and fishing ( a mna’s dream girl ).

Are woman jealous of her handsome husband, or is it her success ?

Do they feel that her usccess is due to just her looks ?

these are interesting questions that in time we will have better answers to.

One thing is clear, people either love her or hate her.

Reminds me of another historical figure or 2. When you have clear cut convictions and you are not afraid to speak your mind, well then you can become a “lightening rod.”

I admire Sarah Palin. I am one of the many (is it millions) who have pre-ordered her book. Mother calls all in a rush yesterday morning… someone was offering that if I subscribed to X that I could buy the Going Rogue for a substantially discounted prince. I advised mother that Going Rogue was already purchased and would be arriving within days of release. She begged me that she could open the package and start reading the minute it arrives. Something tells me this woman is going to be at the Post Office every day helping them unload the truck and sort the mail just so she can get her hands on the book.

Why is it so important to them that she be destroyed ? Because she makes them feel inferior

Is it because she is a man’s woman because she is not only attractive but loves sports and hunting and fishing ( a man’s dream girl ). yes, plus she is smart and a devoted mother who seems to juggle it all quite well- total package- see my first answer (inferiority complex)

Are woman jealous of her handsome husband, or is it her success ? Probably not the handsome thing when it comes to Todd, but you can tell he adores her, and marriages are falling apart left and right in this country

Do they feel that her usccess is due to just her looks ? They want so badly to believe this, and yet they know it isn’t true, so it frustrates them. See my first answer.

I never watch Oprah. I don’t Tivo her. I could say I completely ignored her following the Obama endorsement, but I ignored her before. I did stop thumbing through her magazine in the check out line.. that was all the prior connection I could severe in protest. However, I am going to watch her interview of Palin.

Women who have not based their lives on the liberal ideology of victimhood have a core of inner strength. We might have all come about it in a different fashion, but it is there. I see this core of strength in Palin. It is a knowing that others will attack you, attempt to destroy you, do the worst possible to you…and yet success is not measured in their eyes, but your own. We don’t have time for what these other lesser people think about us. We are too busy. We know better than to waste our time attempting to please them because they have no one’s better interest at heart — not even their own.

Women are jealous beings by nature.. and we too often devour our own. It is easy to see this jealousy in the attacks against her and irrational hatred. I am not jealous of Palin. I envy the long lived marriage and handsome/man’s man husband, beautiful children, and strong supportive family but I am not seething green with jealous hatred. Like so many of my ilk I am happy for her. My path is different because of both circumstances of birth and my own life decisions, that is no reason to dislike her.

Palin will speak to the women who do not subscribe to the ideology of victimhood. These women will not agree with her on every issue, but they will ultimately recognize the core of inner strength and rally to support that sisterhood.

There is your marker — your bright line test. It will be very easy to accomplish the sifting and the sorting. Women who hate Palin at their core see themselves as victims in need of being rescued. Women who admire, respect, and even love Palin see the beauty of their own inner core, reflected in Palin’s.

I think loving and admiring Palin is a totally different thing than making her into an infallible icon. And, that is what I feel people may be doing to Palin, subjecting her to unreal expectations. Just look at the instant criticism and disappointed that was spawned by her supporters when she suddenly resigned early from her Governor position.
There was even a tidal wave of disillusionment, right here on this blog when she initially announced her decision. Eventually it ebbed, when people realized she wasn’t going disintegrate right before their eyes.

But, this kind of adoration is troubling to me, just as it threw out some red flags when Obama’s supporters thought he was the “perfect” candidate, a Messiah figure, because he represented their fervent desires for “change.”

Palin has been through many personal challenges in the last 18 months-2 years, making her a tenacious individual, indeed. But, to be a Presidential contender she will have to show more than personal determination, she will also have to show a grasp of international affairs, having some idea how to tackle the grave issues that face us today. To do this people will have to focus more on her nationa/international knowledge, diplomacy, ability to connect with world leaders as well as people at home, rather than how well she is doing with her arch enemy the MSM, her disabled child, single mother daughter and the like. These are side issues in her own life, which we can identity with, but should not view as representative how she will handle crisises, wars, and corruption here and abroad.

Whereas Palin decisively folded her tent in Alaska to get out of the way of lawsuits and money problems in her life, such an option could be disasterous should she take the same exit in higher office.

These are all questions that hover around Sarah Palin unanswered and still to be proved in the future. And, people asking such questions should not be necessarily labeled “Sarah-haters,” either. Being cautious about chosing the next leader is simply that — hard questions deserve to be asked because the answers are simply not going to be glorious or easy!

I think that is an excellent analysis, Jan. I have said many times I do not want her running in 2012, for many of the reasons you outline.

Thanks Mary for the feedback. I’m glad my post was able to come across to you as “constructive,” as many times such an analysis would be written off as someone who is “against” Palin, which I am not.

Like you, I don’t see her as a viable 2012 candidate. Where her place is will have to be decided by Palin, and only Palin.
