It is like an initial stab wound, you bleed out like crazy, but eventually the blood trickles out until it is all gone. The US is bleeding out jobs, and if you see slowing at all is because it is dying, not improving.

If you looked at where the money went, that which did get spent was spent propping up the revenue loss from the various States general income. They just kicked the can down the road to 2010.

Get ready for Stimulus 2.0 — Extreme Jobs Edition. Yes, the U.S. labor market is slowly healing. The declining number of monthly job losses and weekly initial unemployment claims show that. Yet President Obama still felt the need to announce a ‘jobs summit’ at the White House next month.

What is the author smoking? Seasonally adjusted, we are still cratering on the job front. What boost has been seen is for a minor ramp up in 4Q seasonal employment. That will all go ‘poof’ Jan 2.

What out Glorious Leader does not understand is that business, especially small business is sitting on the sidelines waiting for the smoke to clear on all his initiatives. Till SMB’s understand what the new playing field looks like they would rather forfeit than play for a loss.

It is blatantly obvious that no one in this administration has the slightest idea how to create jobs. And I agree with the article that calling a jobs summit is only an admission of that. If they knew how to create jobs with a stimulus, they would have done it with the first one. As horrible as I feel for the unemployed, I see this as the one chink in his armour (with the “average” voter) that can get him out of office in 2012.

Even for those who supported the Stimulus, why should there be another Stimulus when the money allocated for the first one has not been spent? About 40% of the first Stimulus went for pork barrel projects and there’s a big chunk that won’t be spent until 2012 (just in time for the 2012 election)?
