Sarah Bares Her Claws
It appears that the cost of “Going Rogue” will be worth the purchase price as Sarah Palin opens up about the 2008 campaign and MSM.
In Palin’s new memoir, “Going Rogue,” she confirms reports of tension between her aides and those of the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain. The vice presidential candidate confirms that she had wanted to speak on election night, but was denied the chance and says she was kept “bottled up” from reporters during the campaign.
Palin also writes harshly of CBS anchor Katie Couric, whom she describes as “badgering” and biased. Palin’s series of interviews with Couric were widely regarded as disastrous, leaving the impression of an ill-informed candidate who was unsuited for the job.
The 413-page book with 16 pages of color photos but no index comes out Tuesday, Nov. 17. The Associated Press purchased a copy Thursday. “Going Rogue,” with a first printing of 1.5 million copies, has been at or near the top of Amazon.com and other best-seller lists for weeks, ever since publisher HarperCollins announced that the book had been completed quickly and the release date was being moved up from next spring.
(snip)
She alleges that Couric and CBS left out her more “substantive” remarks and settled for “gotcha” moments. She writes that Couric had a “partisan agenda” and a condescending manner. Couric was “badgering,” biased and far easier on Couric’s Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden (watch the full Couric/Palin interview).
One thing that is been widely midinterpreted is that the cost of Sarah vetting, which she claims she was billed $50,000 by the McCain campaign. This is widely being misinterpreted as $500,000.
And she says that most of her legal bills were generated defending what she called frivolous ethics complaints, but she reveals that about one-tenth of the $500,000 was a bill she received to pay for the McCain campaign vetting her for the VP nod.
While I have been banned, I religiously follow Free Republic and get a lot of ideas for articles from the site. But, FR has to have many of the dumbest people in the conservative movement. Virtually every one read that as Palin being charged $500,000 for vetting.
Hat tip” cbs news.

I know you all are going to find this hard to believe, but I pre-ordered “Going Rogue.”

[1]
Evidently the AP is the one who had it wrong (it’s at CBS but written by AP). People at FR may have read the original version.
From Hot Air:
[2]
got my pre-order in too!
I’m anxious to read this!
We NEED Sarah’s voice in 2010.
p.s. have ya’ll been watching how this moron who knocked up Sarah’s daughter is now essentially claiming…on NATIONAL TV…that he is blackmailing her??
he is BRAGGING that he “has something on Sarah Palin”. He CLAIMS that this is leading her to refrain from “slamming him”. I don’t know if this moron has something or not. I DO know he is scum, and a borderline blackmailer.
[3]
Anything AP can do to slime Sarah Palin he/she/it were. If Michelle Malkin were not signing AllahPundit’s paycheck, he/she/it would be attacking Malkin like Palin.
[4]
It looks like Sarah Palin definitely hasn’t pulled any punches. This book won’t endear her to RINOs or MSM.

Palin/Bachmann – 2012
If Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader get out of line on a day when the ladies are both POed at their husbands, Iran will be a parking lot in 10 minutes.
[6]
The way Levi worded it sounds more like he was upset that she didn’t dignify his idiocy with a response. He needs the attention, so to deflect his embarrassment, he said she was quiet because he has something on her. Reminds me of when I was in elementary school. Someone would hear some new word (usually a swear) and say it over and over acting quite proud of their new word. When you would ask what the word meant, they would respond with “well if you don’t know, I’m not going to tell you!”. That essentially meant they had NO CLUE what the word meant, they just wanted attention, or to sound cool. Levi has the IQ of the average 3rd grader (and I actually think I am being generous here) so it doesn’t surprise me this is the route he has taken.

Let’s say instead that if either of the two women find it necessary, we won’t be waiting months for them to decide a plan of action….
[8]
Mark my words, in 10 years we’ll turn our computers (or whatever we’ll bw using there) and read that Levi died of a drug overdose at a flophouse.
[9]
Scratch flophouse and insert bathhouse
[10]

[11]
Oh we’ll see him on Dancing with the has beens or I’m a celebrity (lol) get me outta here. Gotta milk those 15 minutes for all they are worth!

Just finished going over the other threads for the day.
Why do I get the feeling that Dobbs is positioning for either a presidential run or maybe a Senate run? Anybody know where he resides?
[14]
CT – I believe it is Jersey
[15]
New Jersey. Jersey is kind of like detroit ,,, someone has to live there.
[16]
NJ have an open senate seat? Dobbs doesn’t seem like Senate material. POTUS or VP.
[17]
Dobbs. Sec. Def. in a Palin Presidency.
It would put the fear of God in a few people.
[18]
No NJ senate election until 2012.

Fairly new resource for those that are interested. Aggregation site run by Guy Kawasaki. Topics are all over the place but that link is for conservative oriented opinion.

With NY23 being so close now, I am wondering what effect Newt Gingrich’s comments had.
[21]
Gingrich, on Greta, just said the NY Secretary of State had not yet certified the election of Owens (they are still counting), yet Pelosi has sworn him in and got his vote on health care.
Even though Hoffman conceded on election night, Pelosi may still have a major kerfluffle on her hands if Hoffman ends up with the most votes after the absentees are counted.
Heh.
[22]
Waitaminnit. If Hoffman was the true winner, but Owens voted…..does this mean another vote is necessary?
[23]
JM – It passed with 220, they only needed 218. Even if it took Owens vote out, they had enough.
[24]
Yep. Bill would still go forward.
[25]
I really DO smell a great big rat in re. the election night results in NY-23.
“It’s not the people who vote that count. It’s the people who count the votes.” (Josef Stalin)
[26]
JM – I beg to ask thee
tomorrow will there be poetry
[27]
I was actually going to ask that in the morning. If folks are up for it, I could sure use a poetry night! This has been a hard week!
[28]
She wanted that 1 vote……why? Was someone wavering?
[29]
Pelosi is either stupid, or has immense contempt for the laws of the states, to proceed to swear in a member without certification.
She is a great big rat as well.
[30]
There is just soooo much to rhyme about this week. (plus I missed the last 2 poetry nights, so I have more pent up maybe)
[31]
She was probably hoping that by swearing in, it would count even if the votes were tallied in favor of Hoffman. If he wins, what will she do? It isn’t like she fears the law, she is “above it”.
[32]
Oh believe me, TLS…..I gots me some pent up poems as well!
[33]
The Lousianna Republican did not vote until Pelosi had the 218, and she ended up with 220. If Owens is out, she still has 219. Now, would Cao have voted to give Pelosi the win. Maybe not, but with him out, she still has 218 and the win.
[34]
Ah….
[35]
Right Mullet, plus she probably had 4-5 extras in reserve if need be.
[36]
I really want to know what these people were promised since they could care less about reelection.

[42]
Sex with Nancy?
That’s not a promise. That’s visual assault.
[43]
Poetry night tomorrow!!! It’s a go (gives me a day to, uh, plan)
[44]
JM – Check out this link. http://projectdisaster.com/?p=19295
It is a follow up on Cao’s comments that
Cao wrote he obtained commitment from President Obama that he would work together to address the health care issues of Louisiana, including the FMAP crisis and community disaster loan forgiveness, as well as issues related to Charity and Methodist Hospitals. “I call on all my constituents to support me as I work with him on these issues.”
(quote from Michelle Malkin)

Several polls today, in Ohio and Connecticut, give me some hope for stopping or dramatically slowing the Lemming Express. Time will tell.
‘night all
[52]
What?? Possible vp’s have to pay the campaign to be vetted??? WTF is up with that? That’s some of the stupidest sh1t I’ve ever heard.
Handled levi thing with opera smartly, cutting off his oxygen finally…. let him suffocate on his remaining 15minutes of being a laughing stock.
#3 – Question is why is she still writing him checks?
“Dobbs. Sec. Def. in a Palin Presidency. ”
—
First thing you said in a long time I don’t agree with, lol.
He can head up the immigration and border services, or maybe dhs, but sec def, FK no. Dobbs is BOR only with a more liberal history overall.
[53]
You know “?” is dying to post on this thread!!!
