Sarah Bares Her Claws

It appears that the cost of “Going Rogue” will be worth the purchase price as Sarah Palin opens up about the 2008 campaign and MSM.

In Palin’s new memoir, “Going Rogue,” she confirms reports of tension between her aides and those of the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain. The vice presidential candidate confirms that she had wanted to speak on election night, but was denied the chance and says she was kept “bottled up” from reporters during the campaign.

Palin also writes harshly of CBS anchor Katie Couric, whom she describes as “badgering” and biased. Palin’s series of interviews with Couric were widely regarded as disastrous, leaving the impression of an ill-informed candidate who was unsuited for the job.

The 413-page book with 16 pages of color photos but no index comes out Tuesday, Nov. 17. The Associated Press purchased a copy Thursday. “Going Rogue,” with a first printing of 1.5 million copies, has been at or near the top of Amazon.com and other best-seller lists for weeks, ever since publisher HarperCollins announced that the book had been completed quickly and the release date was being moved up from next spring.

(snip)

She alleges that Couric and CBS left out her more “substantive” remarks and settled for “gotcha” moments. She writes that Couric had a “partisan agenda” and a condescending manner. Couric was “badgering,” biased and far easier on Couric’s Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden (watch the full Couric/Palin interview).

One thing that is been widely midinterpreted is that the cost of Sarah vetting, which she claims she was billed $50,000 by the McCain campaign. This is widely being misinterpreted as $500,000.

And she says that most of her legal bills were generated defending what she called frivolous ethics complaints, but she reveals that about one-tenth of the $500,000 was a bill she received to pay for the McCain campaign vetting her for the VP nod.

Full article.

While I have been banned, I religiously follow Free Republic and get a lot of ideas for articles from the site. But, FR has to have many of the dumbest people in the conservative movement. Virtually every one read that as Palin being charged $500,000 for vetting.

Hat tip” cbs news.

I know you all are going to find this hard to believe, but I pre-ordered “Going Rogue.”

Evidently the AP is the one who had it wrong (it’s at CBS but written by AP). People at FR may have read the original version.

    From Hot Air:

Update: Here’s why it’s a bad idea to trust the AP. The line in the blockquote above about how “she reveals that about $500,000 was a bill” has now been revised in subsequent versions of the story to read “she reveals that about one-tenth of the $500,000 was a bill”. In other words, the vetting allegedly cost 50 grand, not 500 grand. Which makes it even odder that the campaign didn’t pick up the tab — assuming it was legally entitled to do so.

got my pre-order in too! :) I’m anxious to read this!

We NEED Sarah’s voice in 2010.

p.s. have ya’ll been watching how this moron who knocked up Sarah’s daughter is now essentially claiming…on NATIONAL TV…that he is blackmailing her??

he is BRAGGING that he “has something on Sarah Palin”. He CLAIMS that this is leading her to refrain from “slamming him”. I don’t know if this moron has something or not. I DO know he is scum, and a borderline blackmailer.

Anything AP can do to slime Sarah Palin he/she/it were. If Michelle Malkin were not signing AllahPundit’s paycheck, he/she/it would be attacking Malkin like Palin.

It looks like Sarah Palin definitely hasn’t pulled any punches. This book won’t endear her to RINOs or MSM.

    Palin/Bachmann – 2012

If Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader get out of line on a day when the ladies are both POed at their husbands, Iran will be a parking lot in 10 minutes.

The way Levi worded it sounds more like he was upset that she didn’t dignify his idiocy with a response. He needs the attention, so to deflect his embarrassment, he said she was quiet because he has something on her. Reminds me of when I was in elementary school. Someone would hear some new word (usually a swear) and say it over and over acting quite proud of their new word. When you would ask what the word meant, they would respond with “well if you don’t know, I’m not going to tell you!”. That essentially meant they had NO CLUE what the word meant, they just wanted attention, or to sound cool. Levi has the IQ of the average 3rd grader (and I actually think I am being generous here) so it doesn’t surprise me this is the route he has taken.

With NY23 being so close now, I am wondering what effect Newt Gingrich’s comments had.

Gingrich, on Greta, just said the NY Secretary of State had not yet certified the election of Owens (they are still counting), yet Pelosi has sworn him in and got his vote on health care.

Even though Hoffman conceded on election night, Pelosi may still have a major kerfluffle on her hands if Hoffman ends up with the most votes after the absentees are counted.

Pelosi is either stupid, or has immense contempt for the laws of the states, to proceed to swear in a member without certification.

She was probably hoping that by swearing in, it would count even if the votes were tallied in favor of Hoffman. If he wins, what will she do? It isn’t like she fears the law, she is “above it”.

The Lousianna Republican did not vote until Pelosi had the 218, and she ended up with 220. If Owens is out, she still has 219. Now, would Cao have voted to give Pelosi the win. Maybe not, but with him out, she still has 218 and the win.
