SC County GOP Censures Lindsey Graham
Finally the Charleston, SC county GOP has had enough. It’s too bad they didn’t take this action 18 months ago before South Carolinians reelected Lucy.
The Charleston County Republican Party’s executive committee took the unusual step Monday night of censuring U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham for stepping across the GOP party line.
County Chairwoman Lin Bennett said the unanimous vote “is an effort to get his attention. They (party leaders) are just fed up, and they want him to know they’re fed up.”
The resolution mentions Graham’s cooperation with U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., on a bipartisan energy bill, and his support for the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program and the time he called some opponents of immigration reform “bigots.”
“U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham — in the name of bipartisanship — continues to weaken the Republican brand and tarnish the ideals of freedom, rule of law, and fiscal conservatism,” the resolution reads.
Bennett said the resolution passed unanimously by a voice vote among about 50 of the party’s 104 executive committee members.
She said party faithful have talked about the resolution for a while. “The feeling is if you’re not going to uphold the platform, then why bother to run as a Republican?” she said.

Goober makes McCain look like a genius.

[1]
I’ve been waiting for some of those South Carolina fire-eaters to do something like this.
[2]
Hallelujah, let’s hope some others follow suit.
[3]
2014 – Long way away, but anything to help keep him in check is a good thing.
[4]
Should we start a pool on when he switches to Democrat?
[5]
Dobbs quits CNN
[6]
This is actually nothing. It’s meaningless, and Senator Miss Lucy does not care. He’ll brag about it in fact.
The time to do something about this cretin was last year, and the GOP flopped.
[7]
McCain and Graham think they are the future of the GOP and have a plan to elect “Republicans” in their mold (Meg Whitman, Charlie Crist, etc.).
What they didn’t realize is that conservatives are mobilized like never before and we are not about to take any RINO crap. RINOs like Graham and McCain have been renominated because the party was behind them and they have had a huge financial advantage over their primary opponent.
Two points: 1) don’t give to the GOP and 2) work against RINOs even though they atr not in your state. Goober got a new shot clock, but there are plenty of great targets – Crist, McCain, Bennett in 2010.
[8]
I might go a little further than RWY. Ole Lucy will view this as a badge of honor. Completes his ‘moderate voice’ uniform.
[9]
“The time to do something about this cretin was last year, and the GOP flopped.”
Very true Yahoo, but there are many RINOs that make great targets – and one is in your state.
[10]
Chrissy and Olberfurher will not like this one bit.

Now I have absolutely NO reason to watch CNN. IF FNC puts Dobbs in Shep’s spot, their viewer count could increase by 30%.
[13]
dobbs new in previous couple threads.

conservativetony: muy grande avatar.
[15]
Be so sweet to primary McCain, if he went down the screeching from Lucy would be so darn entertaining.

RINOs are like a cancer working to destry the GOP. Just like they took down Dede in NY23, we need to “primary” as many RINOs as possible.
My dream is that some day soon RINOs will become an endangered spieces with the only survivors in a petting zoo in MFG’s back yard.
[17]
If Hayworth runs, we have a chance.
[18]
Avatar change for your pleasure and mine, IP
BC, I wonder how much it would cost to pay of Shep’s contract. Probably well worth the cost.
[19]
Just a Hmmm. Lets say the conservatives mow down all the RINO’s.
Do we have realistic alternatives to those RINO’s that can win a GE? For example, polls show Rubio can beat the likely Dim challenger. But who would be capable of challenging Graham were he up for reelection?
[20]
RINOs will be dead meat this November. They will be seen more as being Democrats for the times they voted with than they do for the times they have voted with Republicans.
[21]
Someone called my husband “300″ the other day. lol His hair/beard looks just like that right now. lol

It’s always a challenge facing an incumbent. Conservatives need to work to select good candidates. By cutting contributions to the GOP and contributing to conservatives we can level the playing field. If we can take down a few RINOs, the remaining ones will be less likely to veer to the left. We need a few major kills and McCain and Bennett are the best bets.
Had we done this in the 1980s, it wouldn;t be a problem today.
[23]
Dr dog’s avatar reminds me of the dinos in this clip.
[24]
Pretty much says it all
[25]
Well it certainly explains the extinction of the Dinos…..
[26]
I honestly believe his intention was to get elected and do as much damage as possible for as long as possible. Beyond that, he has no plan.
I’m sure he was surprised he got elected this time around, but other than that the song remains the same.
[27]
The new Gallup poll shows independents breaking 51-30 for Rs. That’s a 22 point swing since July. R’s lead overall 48 – 44. Unfortunately, by November 2010 we may not have a country left to save.
[28]
But seriously, there are about 20 RINO’s that need to be outed. But do we have 19 conservatives in the wings to take their place?
Before we polish up the elephant guns, let be sure we have replacement stock.
[29]
Do manchurian candidates actually know they are candidates?
[30]
If you are a democrat in 2010, you are going to face an angry electorate. The last two cycles, everyone was bush-weary. The Obama-Pelosi-Reid cartel is making Bush look good.
I think the following issues are irreversible before the 2010 elections and the negative impact of them inure to the democrats:
Unemployment in double digits
Creeping socialism (banks, autos, other bailouts, healthcare)
Mismanaging (dithering) of the war
Budget deficits
and now, terrorism back on our shores.
[31]
I also think 2010 is shaping up as a bloodbath for Democrats…and the prospect make wake some of them up. Dunno.
I DO know that if we don’t take the country back in 2010, there won’t BE a country in 2012.
[32]
JR,
The Democratic party needs to be sent to the wilderness for about 40 years. Its the only way to flush the current crop of Socialists out of their party.

Read what the Emerson Electric CEO has to say about the Obama administration.
Emerson CEO
[34]
I actually put a post on it into the hopper tho I haven’t had time to notify JM. Its a revealing piece of writing. I am afraid that thanks to the previous and this administration we may now have a permanent unemployed class (who do want to work).
[35]
mullet…wow. CEOs have obviously been wakig up, but for one to display such candor is amazing.
Every business in America is being villfied, hounded, and threatened. Profit=EVIL!
A year or so ago when you walked down the street near our cabin up in the mountains there stood a very impressive tree, maybe 15 feet around and a hundred feet high. When we walked by there a few weeks back the tree had been cut down…for SAFETY reasons. An astute resident recognized the symptoms and working with the community they cut the tree down. It as HOLLOW inside! This impressive tree was very near the point where a mild breeze would have knocked it down.
As we walked by and looked at the hollow sections of the tree I thought of our country. And said a silent prayer.
[36]
The hollow tree analogy could apply to Obama as well.
