“He was guilty of nothing, except that he earned his own fortune and never forgot that it was his.“ The concept contained within that phrase is what has set America apart, and made her the greatest nation on Earth. And it is the systematic attack on that concept, that this website is dedicated to fighting. This website is NOT devoted to making people “wealthy”, but rather to fighting the notion that the “wealth” they DO have needs to be “redistributed”.
He is from a district that has not elected a Republican since 1869. Let’s give him the benefit of a doubt. Alabama may be a red state, but he’s from a dark blue corner. He didn’t cost the GOP a dime.
There already is another version floating out there from the RNC, I forget what they are calling it but it’s like first principles or something, if you don’t get on board with it you don’t get direct help – I saw it a couple weeks back when it was first floated and it wasn’t half bad.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Republican National Committee identifies ten (10) key public policy positions for the 2010 election cycle, which the Republican National Committee expects its public officials and candidates to support:
(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s “stimulus” bill;
(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run health care;
(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;
(4) We support workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check;
(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and
(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership.
RESOLVED, that a candidate who disagrees with three or more of the above stated public policy positions of the Republican National Committee, as identified by the voting record, public statements and/or signed questionnaire of the candidate, shall not be eligible for financial support and endorsement by the Republican National Committee.
Bah! It reads like the mission statement for a corporate program. All platitudes, no teeth.
Here’s the way it ought to read –
We the undersigned, pledge and troth, with penalty of expulsion –
(1) That the federal government workforce shall be reduced by 2% a year till its expenditure level is 15% of GDP.
(2) Health Care is the responsibility of the individual. To that end Health Care shall be a nontaxed service and exempt from AGI. HSA’s shall be unlimited. Other tax benefits afforded the corporate entities shall be extended to the individual in the tax code.
(3) We shall eliminate the EPA and remand such efforts to the States. In leiu of fines/taxes, tax incentives shall be offered that increase efficiency and eliminate emissions.
(4) A bill shall be offered that make ‘Right to Work’ the national standard. A workers right to a union representation is protected. But a workers right to secret ballot is sacrosanct and will be offered as part of the legislation.
(5) We shall enforce the border with armed forces. The immigration service shall be contracted out. Illegals shall be given a 5yr one time pass; at the end of that time they shall leave — period.
(6) We win, they lose. There is no substitute for Victory.
(7) ((Pass. You can’t provide any verbage that can be supported by anything actionable short of invasion.))
(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) We will issue and route to the States for ratification two amendments –
a) Congress shall pass no law that itself is not party to. The provisions of which become retroactive upon ratification. Neither the Congress, the Judicary or the Executive shall have the power is enable a mandate to any individual or group.
b) The power to tax is the power to destroy. Hence it shall not be lawful for the Federal Governemnt to tax any given taxable entity for more than 25% of Gross Revenues. Nor shall national sales taxes be lawful.
(10) Congress reaffirms the 2nd Amendment that the right to own and bear arms, their supplies and accouterments shall not be abridged. We further reaffirm the 5th Amendment and reverse the Kelo decision for all but public takings for a public open purpose.
The first version is A Wish. The second version is An Action.
The Dims in the House will jettison EVERYTHING in order to get the shell they need. Once they have the shell they will fill it back up with whatever they want.
I got to hear a bit of Rush today, and he made an incredibly chilling point: This “HealthCare” will ultimately pit each American against every other American…as competitors for the shrinking resource of health care.
Americans will view every OTHER American as sucking up the resources they do or might need.
drdog, I was in a WalMart today…the ammo shelves were empty. I asked the guy if they were still selling ammo. I knew the answer: “We stock ‘em every night…but you need to be here within 60 minutes of us opening to get any!”
I fear for America more than in my entire life. “Archduke Ferdinand” is out there…
There hasn’t been any ammo on the shelves at any of our Wally worlds down here in months. Just like your store, Dad……people have been waiting for the delivery trucks every morning and getting in line like it was black friday and there was a $1 television to the first 10 customers.
I keep telling you people where to get ammo and you keep complaining…
Yahoo has lots of ammo and I know where to get a lot more, some of it is a little expensive, most of it is pretty reasonable, ie, within 30% of wal-mart prices….
19 – Yeah that looks like it or awefully close, yeah of course I’d write my own version, but though it wasn’t a bad starting point when it was being floated as a draft weeks ago.
Bad stuff coming down, coming down.
Back of the hand from Harry the clown.
Health care for all, but not what you need
Just pretty words from Obama and Reid.
People will die and the panels of death

The panel of death will never die
Protected by words unseen by the eye.
The people will suffer, but soon rise up
To take freedom back and drink from the cup.
The Tree will be watered and liberty refreshed
The Constitution and the Rights Bill once again meshed.
The country will be saved by patriot blood
Old Glory will fly in all neighborhoods.
The tyranny of Harry will never pay
The oppression of Obama will lose the day.
btw, I just saw the White House “Unity Tree” ornaments. Mao ornaments, transvestite ornaments, etc. Yup, let’s piss on EVERYTHING Christian or American.

Least your not come close to jumping the shark with this post.
[2]
Why does Obama hate sick people so much?
[3]
If only we had Lincoln Chaffee, this never would have happened…..
[4]
We have to shorten that to an acronym and use it in place of the Sarah Palin phrase we often go by….
[5]
We must make so called “conservative” dims pay for this in 2010.
[6]
The country is going to break up if this continues. Even the army won’t be able to stop it when people get kicked out of hospitals.
The left is really insane.
[7]
Bush flirted with insanity at times, usually when he walked over to the left side of the aisle with his new tone bullcrap.
Obama is clearly emotionally disturbed, as are most of his inner circle. Look at them, they are truly crazy.
[8]
IOWHLCTWNHH…..
That is what we say from now on every time the left tries something.
Save us Linc Chaffee! You’re our only hope!
[9]
“IOWHLCTWNHH”
—
Noted… lol it’s actually very similar to the name of a server I was working on today.
Not sure we need to torture MFG just quite yet though.
At least it didn’t start with “I’ve had an epiphany…”, so there is hope.
[10]
RWY,
Lets make it easy shall we?
I would like another cup of Chaffee please!
[11]
Yep, all they want is the control. HC is not essential. House Dims ready to pitch public option.
[12]
IWLACOCP
…shorter for sure.
[13]
[14]
I am rummaging thru an article over at HA. Griffith still sounds like a neonatal RINO.
[15]
A Contract with America 2.0 is taking shape.
[16]
“If only we had Lincoln Chaffee, this never would have happened…..”
Greatest one-term wonder in the history of the Senate, a legend in MFG’s mind.

I’m waiting for Reid to run roughshod over Demint’s constitutional point of order.
He will lay waste to the notion that senators must first obey their oath and defend the Constitution.
“Rules? We don’t need no steenking rules.”
[21]
The Dims in the House will jettison EVERYTHING in order to get the shell they need. Once they have the shell they will fill it back up with whatever they want.

Sounds, um, like the Civil War.
Just sayin.
[25]
It will pit the producers against the non producers.
[26]
fedupartist – nothing civil about them. Some people on the left are going to find out the hard way.

RP,
Agreed. I would also add adoption services be enhanced in some fashion as well.
[31]
Fp,
I expect to see big pictures of Mao all over Washington soon.
[32]
Retroactive abortion may be required, Drd.
[33]
I truly fear that we are indeed in for a “little revolution”…and that it may not be so little.
WE won’t start it.
[34]
Ah, Hell why not? The last one was started by well heeled monied interests.
[35]
No, JR, but we will finish it off.
BTW, I only have one good arm, but I still have your six.

#21 Rush is EXACTLY correct!
When the politian/technocrats control all the resources and access to health care then you have NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO CRAWL TO THEM LIKE YOU WERE A SERF!
All decesions will be “collective” and not an individual/family matter between you and your doctor (or if you have insurance with them too)!
Unlike now when you can get a new doctor or fire your insurance company or sue the insurance company or pay yourself you will be trapped!
In this system, all decisions are political – the ones that have the biggest political lobby will win ie SEIU, etc
The weak and polically unpopular/unorganized will lose – the unborn and the elderly etc
This is why I have said this is a form of EVIL that cannot be allowed to stand if we are to remain a free and independent people!
I watched this process this summer in the town halls – the old, the veterans – trapped in the government system – no alternatives, just a number in the spreadsheet. All getting screwed by faceless technocrats who had employment for life and could care less! All of whom PAID THEIR WHOLE LIFE IN TAXES or TOOK LEAD INTO THEIR ARSE DEFENDING THIS COUNTRY!
After seeing this go on, I counldnt take it anymore….
I got up and told the Congressman:
“look these people arent asking for a handout – they paid their taxes for a LIFETIME or FOUGHT FOR US! They did their DUTY! Now they only ask that the promises made to them and our government is screwing them! You cant take care of them and their are people in DC who want to add the OTHER 300 millon of us into this system – this is INSANITY!
AND IT IS NOT RIGHT THAT THEY HAVE TO COME TO YOU LIKE YOUR WERE SOMEKIND OF LORD BESTOWING FAVORS ON THE PEASANTS! You are NO BETTER then them – they EARNED their respect and they GET NONE from their governemt! We faught a revolution in 1776 so we would have NO MORE ARTITOCRACY and the people would be soverign and FREE! This HC bill stands that on its HEAD! THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND!”
It truly made me sick to see – but imagine WHEN everyone is crawling to politicans like this?

We damm sure will all be better off….

Regardless, I agree.
