“For Our Freedom And Yours”
We need to remember the past not to live in it nor to bewail that our best days are over, but to be encouraged to fight the battle that is ours today. We are “re”-couraged when we remember the courage of others. We understand what leadership is and we can recognize true leaders more easily when we remember those who were great leaders.
Tonight my son was looking at some of Ronald Reagan’s Christmas messages. I came across one I want to share with you. Paul Kengor, in his column from 2006, The Candles of Christmas 1981, detailed the totalitarian darkness of Communism, its slaughter of well over 100 million people, its denial of rights and its hatred of religion. He remembered that on December 13, 1981, Lech Walesa’s Solidarity headquarters was raided by police and martial law was declared.
When hope was dimmed for freedom in Poland, Ronald Reagan gave this message on December 23, 1981.
…When 19th century Polish patriots rose against foreign oppressors, their rallying cry was, “For our freedom and yours.”…
Yesterday, I met in this very room with Romuald Spasowski, the distinguished former Polish Ambassador who has sought asylum in our country in protest of the suppression of his native land. He told me that one of the ways the Polish people have demonstrated their solidarity in the face of martial law is by placing lighted candles in their windows to show that the light of liberty still glows in their hearts.
Ambassador Spasowski requested that on Christmas Eve a lighted candle will burn in the White House window as a small but certain beacon of our solidarity with the Polish people. I urge all of you to do the same tomorrow night, on Christmas Eve, as a personal statement of your commitment to the steps we’re taking to support the brave people of Poland in their time of troubles.
Once, earlier in this century, an evil influence threatened that the lights were going out all over the world. Let the light of millions of candles in American homes give notice that the light of freedom is not going to be extinguished. We are blessed with a freedom and abundance denied to so many. Let those candles remind us that these blessings bring with them a solid obligation, an obligation to the God who guides us, an obligation to the heritage of liberty and dignity handed down to us by our forefathers and an obligation to the children of the world, whose future will be shaped by the way we live our lives today….
Merry Christmas! And remember…For Our Freedom And Yours.

Merry Christmas, the “King” lives. And we aint talking Elvis either.
From the very beginning, God gave man the first fundamental right – Free Will. If God has not imposed his will on us, what right does another man have to impose his will on us? He does not.
I willing bend my knee and confess with my tongue “Jesus as MY Lord & Savior”. But my knee and tongue will never acknowledge any man or woman as my master other than the living God.
The yearning of man is to be free and this spirit was placed in us by God. The problem we have is that we have forgotten where our liberty and freedom came from – God. God brings events into our life to bring us back to him when we have wandered from him. We as a nation have wandered from him. I believe that God is doing what he is doing to our nation to get us to turn back to him.
We have two choices – for me – me and my family will follow and serve the Living God. For he is our refuge, our salvation.

#1 Well put! There are those who can try to surpress there fellow man motivated by their arrogance where they refuse to acknowledge the one true God and deem themselves more enlighten then others and thus willing to use force to make others live only as they deem correct!
This is direct contrast to how God made man and ordered creation – to be free!
In the end, all these arrogant and wicked people will fail because they refuse to acknowledge God and his plan for the universe – they act in opposition to God and in the end God’s Will will be done!
Hope you and the family have a good Christmas!

67.Great Essay that exposes the shady scam that is CrappyCare!:
http://andrews.blogtownhall.com/2009/12/24/a_simple_question.thtml
“So, how do the Democrats, with a straight face, say our government will go bankrupt due to health care costs, unless we pass their plan, when their plan COSTS MORE? If we can’t afford medicare now, how do we afford it when we have more people? And how is an admitted trillion dollar expense, saving money? Especially when we know a trillion dollars in “government money” is like a year in “dog years”, probably 10 trillion or more. Add to that the fact that the government, which says people can’t afford insurance, is making people buy the insurance they say they can’t afford. Oh, they will subsidize some, but only by taxing the rest, who they say were going bankrupt anyway.”
Does any of this make sense?
I know the left was famous for thinking we could spend our way into prosperity, claiming taking money from business and pouring it down government sinkholes would make us rich, but this is just so absurd I don’t think anyone could believe it. If we are going bankrupt from health care costs, how does paying more stop that?
Unless, of course, they really plan to use this as a first step to outright nationalization, followed by rationing and denial of services. Then I suppose it makes perfect sense.”
Simple explaination really – they are arrogant elitest who feel that any means/methods justify their end game of creating a socialist utopia “for your own good”.
In short, they are liars and fools!
Merry Christmas Ms. INC! Keep up the great work here on BJG!
