Is the White House Monitoring/Directing News Shows?

How far will the White House go in monitoring/directing the content of news programs? According to liberal MSNBC host Ed Schultz it may be going as far as texting on air hosts as to the content it wants presented.

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz claimed Friday that the White House communicates with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski during their “Morning Joe” program.

*****Update: Ed Driscoll has an October video of Mika receiving an e-mail from the White House.

Schultz said he observed this when he was on last Thursday’s program:

So Mika starts looking at her Blackberry and so does Scarborough and obviously the White House is texting them or emailing them or whatever and they didn’t like the show. Because Arianna had been on there, I’m on there, Howard Dean had been on there and they wanted some balance.

Now think about that – here’s the White House getting in contact with ‘Morning Joe’ because they’re afraid there’s too many lefties on the air! Now if that’s not sensitivity at its highest level, I don’t know what is! I told ya a few days ago they had rabbit ears! They don’t like anything that’s being said right now, they’re getting beat up!

In reality, this isn’t as shocking as it might seem.

NewsBuster Mark Finkelstein reported in October that the White House e-mailed NBC’s Savannah Guthrie while she was on the “MJ” set.

According to Guthrie, a senior White House advisor wanted her to tell Scarborough to “stop being an a**hole.”

Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up.

This is with a doubt the most dangerous administration in the nation’s history. And, unfortunately, we don’t have Lincoln Chaffee to save us.

Recovery not as strong as previously thought

    Dec 22, 9:02 AM (ET)

    By JEANNINE AVERSA

WASHINGTON (AP) – The economy grew at a 2.2 percent pace in the third quarter, as the recovery got off to a weaker start than previously thought. However, all signs suggest the economy will end the year on stronger footing.

The Commerce Department’s new reading on gross domestic product for the July-to-September quarter was slower than the 2.8 percent growth rate estimated just a month ago. Economists were predicting that figure wouldn’t be revised in the government’s final estimate on third-quarter GDP.

Not good news. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

A prayer delivered to the Kansas House of Representatives, 1996. I might recommend he deliver this same speech on the floor of the House of Representatives in Wash DC.

    what they heard:

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask
your forgiveness and to seek your direction and
guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those
who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we
    have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed
    our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it
    the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it
    welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it
    choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it
    justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our
children and called it building self esteem..

We have abused power and called it
    politics.

We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions
    and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and
pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values
of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts
today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
    Amen!

The response was immediate.. A number of
legislators walked out during the prayer in
protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian
Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than
5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls
responding negatively. The church is now receiving
international requests for copies of this prayer
from India , Africa and Korea .

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on
his radio program, ‘The Rest of the Story,’and
received a larger response to this program than any
    other he has ever aired.

I think the original # was aroung 3.5%. This is the second revision downward. I do think the entire increase was due to cash for clunkers. This only serves to rob the next quarters growth.

Having said that, I actually think we will see decent growth in the 4th Q because it compares to such a weak number.

Look at the increase in demand of all commodities from China and India and then look at our jobs numbers and deficit. Stir the mix and what do you have? Stagflation. It is already here.

6, yes we are. Its only going to get worse too. Once the HC bill passes it will take several quarters for the business community to assess the impact of it to their operations. Till then they will sit on the sidelines. Once they figure it out I don’t think it will be to the good either.

So if HC is on Obammy’s desk before SOTU the layoffs will probably be hitting their stride 3Q right before the midterms. Perfect.

All growth was due to the government stimulus, I doubt there was any real growth in the economy at all
