“He was guilty of nothing, except that he earned his own fortune and never forgot that it was his.“ The concept contained within that phrase is what has set America apart, and made her the greatest nation on Earth. And it is the systematic attack on that concept, that this website is dedicated to fighting. This website is NOT devoted to making people “wealthy”, but rather to fighting the notion that the “wealth” they DO have needs to be “redistributed”.
What is wrong is the left is in power. What is predictable is this sort of behavior, when they are.
But, voting and all that.
I’ve been very sanguine and “call me when the revolution starts” this week.
And I’m slightly amazed I still have a job. The last time I was out of work, 1992, unemployment was under 8% and you could not get anything at all. For a year.
Now, it’s 10% (and really 17.5%) and I am going to work every day.
Tareq and Michaele Salahi’s 15 minutes of fame seems to be extending. They are hosting some event for a hotel in Las Vegas soon. They were just one of three “uninvited guests” admitted to the state dinner.
Can it be that real unemployment has never gotten much below 8% this past decade?
Back during the amnesty debate of 2006 and 2007, the Bush people used to say that we needed the illegals because the US had full employment and still needed more workers.
Of course anyone with a brain knew this was a lie, and I used to read economists who said the actual unemployment rate was not 4.5% in 2007, but more likely 5.5-6%, and thus amnesty was displacing American workers who could have had these jobs.
According to Williams, the actual rate was not 6% but 8%, and that is truly scary. I wonder if it’s true?
He’s got it at nearly 12% in 1994, whereas the US gov figure was 6.3%, and that was the first year they officially split U3 and U6, according to this guy at Redstate……
“Can it be that real unemployment has never gotten much below 8% this past decade? ”

Using the mythbusters scale I’d say yes it’s plausible I just think about it like this… pick 12 people you know, for the most part has one of them been out of work at any given time in the last 15 years?
“If Willaims’ data is right, we have not had nearly as much prosperity in the US the last 15 years as we have thought……”
—
This does not surprise me at all.
“If Willaims’ data is right, we have not had nearly as much prosperity in the US the last 15 years as we have thought……”
Oh for sure- because people were spending “funny money”. All the middle class folks driving hummers and bmw’s….living in what were called “Mc Mansions? It was based on overextended credit because people thought their houses would continue to gain 40% more value every year.
Even without that though, One of the things I took from Rich Dad, Poor Dad was that the rich don’t care as much about looking rich as the poor and middle class do. The poor and middle class want to look rich right now, whereas people with true wealth will spend their wealth in other ways.
I think Brown was in campaign mode. To run in Mass, you can’t be right wing. He was staying center to center left, yet promoting common sense fiscal conservatism.
25 – Hey I’m not saying it doesn’t beat Teddy, but another person on team R out there saying everyone is entitled (to just about anything) isn’t helpful.
My vibe is the guy is another mitt romney( pre-epiphany), just slightly more personable.
Well, he is opposing Obamacare philosophically, from what I can tell, whereas Mitt’s opposition is based upon the vain imagining that because he did his Romneycare in Mass and not nationwide, it’s somehow better.
29 – Now you know why I’m not donating. (Not that it’s not an improvement over teddy, it’s too bad he’s not running as an ‘I’ though) Who knows maybe he’ll go quiet with the “entitled to health care” crap once in office… after all wtf does he care they already have the disaster of Romney care in MA.
He said and I think I have this exactly right “Well everyone is entitled to health care”… then went on to say basically but not this insanity Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Obama are pushing, I will be the 41st vote to start over …etc he threw something in there about people of MA already having romney care so they should not be paying for everyone else in the other states.
How can Brown claim to be fiscally responsible and smallgov when he says everyone has a right to government healthcare?
Did he really say that?
Shades of Olympia Snowe. Say the party is leaving you and your smallgov beliefs, then vote for trillions in spending and vote commiecare out of committee.
Regardless, it has the dems anxious. It looks like Martha Coakley got caught with her britches down around her knees. She didn’t campaign at all during December and (apparently) lost about half her lead.
If Brown wins or comes close, it will be an earthquake going into the midterms.
34 – I’m sure you can get the transcript or a clip in an hour or so if you don’t believe me. Someone at HHR confirmed what I thought I heard for whatever that’s worth.
Probably will be a roughly a Collins\Snowe type maybe a little better – Better then Teddy, but if he gets lots of press it could hurt the image, course the ? types will say it helps the image.

Probably better then average on military matters (he is lt. col in NG… course we know how that can go sometimes – lol)

We ain’t gonna get an Inhofe or DeMint in Massachusetts. Brown is far better than Coakley. Let’s concentrate on ousting McCain, Bennett, etc. from red states.
O/T They are showing the 1971 Oklahoma – Nebraska Thanksgiving game on ESPN Classic. How different football was then – Nebraska backs and receivers wearing tear-away jerseys, many more white players (and some even got to touch the ball – other than the QB and center).
57 – It was some national journal polling of “insiders” whatever’tf that means probably pundits, pols, and campaign people. Not really important I just figured I mention it cause sort of countered my prior statement.
The Orlando Magic are the most gutless bunch of overpaid pieces of crap that ever played basketball.
5-5 and a 4 game losing streak all against sub- .500 teams….. they lose at home tomorrow to the Hawks and then go out west for a tough 4 game trip including the lakers.
This team has quit for the season and will go 0-5 for a 9 game skid.
Time to start over. Nelson, Lewis, and Carter need to be walked out of the club, and Dwight needs to come of the bench.
Health Care
I believe that all Americans deserve health care coverage, but I am opposed to the health care legislation that is under consideration in Congress and will vote against it. It will raise taxes, increase government spending and lower the quality of care, especially for elders on Medicare. I support strengthening the existing private market system with policies that will drive down costs and make it easier for people to purchase affordable insurance. In Massachusetts, I support the 2006 healthcare law that was successful in expanding coverage, but I also recognize that the state must now turn its attention to controlling costs.
Immigration
I recognize that our strength as a nation is built on the immigrant experience in America. I welcome legal immigration to this country. However, we are also a nation of laws and government should not adopt policies that encourage illegal immigration. Providing driver’s licenses and in-state tuition to illegal immigrant families will act as a magnet in drawing more people here in violation of the law and it will impose new costs on taxpayers. I oppose amnesty, and I believe we ought to strengthen our border enforcement and institute an employment verification system with penalties for companies that hire illegal immigrants.
Gun issues
I support the Second Amendment and believe that citizens have the right to keep and bear arms as a basic constitutional liberty. I support safe and responsible gun ownership.
I swear does Griff Jenkins purpose look for uninformed individuals to interview or is the public really just as unaware and stupid as I used to think they were?
80 – Problem is Mullet I’ve watch Griff do that in about 15 states the last two-three weeks… they have all been like that! We’re doomed is the conclusion I have drawn from it.
The first question he should ask is “did you vote in the last election?” If the answer is no.. move on to someone else, not only is it pointless but the chances they have a clue drop dramatically.
KH – did not see prior reports by Griff, but where were they?
I believe this report was from Little Rock, cities tend to be dumb and blue. Believe there is a correlation there as there is plenty of examples around the country.
84 – did you hear that one woman which I guess was a wife of a veteran who basically said all I care about is that our tri-care stays with us. Reminded me of a certain someone.
He was in N.O. last night, NE, be fore that… last week was a whole other set of cities. It was stupid I mean last night he’s in N.O. but interview 2 people from canada an 2 people from NY… hello how about get some actual local opinion. Oh and the people in NE were dumb as rocks too, even the occasional person against HC reform sound like idiots.
I love Polipundit, but he might as well go on the national news in a clown suit and poop himself in front of 100 million people, rather than let JL post on his site.
He’d get more respect that way.
Another hilarious bit was when all the lefty trolls that run the site now, congratulated JL for his wisdom and acumen.
93- I gotta say the lefty troll there were a riot, I read some comment on new years and just had to laugh, especially the GW settled science freaks – just out of there minds.
It is 18 degrees here in NC, and I am watching a local report of the Salvation Army taking hot food and blankets out to the bridge people. It’s an underworld out there, and thank God for agencies like the Salvation Army. Obama isn’t doing anything to change the dynamic.
O/T. The Southeastern Conference just won it’s sixth BCS National championship. The remarkable part is that they have never lost one (6 0f 11). Even more remarkable is that the SEC has won those games with four different teams. Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and LSU (and if Auburn had not been screwed out the 93 title game we would have had 7 out of ll BCS titles)
SEC: 4 teams, 6 titles, no losses.
Big Twelve: 2 teams, 2 wins and 4losses.
PAC 10: One team, 1win and 1 loss.
Big Ten: 2 teams, 1 win and 4 losses.
ACC:1 team, 1 win, one loss.
Big Least: 2 teams, 1 win, 1 loss. (Miami and Virginia Tech were in the Big ten when they played in BCS games).
Is there any doubt that the SEC is the Supreme power in College Football?
Not surprising, but Dude. It would take a terrorist and 50 of his closest terrorist pals walking into Google offices with ’sploding underoos for them to get it. Morons.
The War on Poverty was lost about 40 years ago, but the money still goes out. All it does is grow government, and people are still eating out of dumpsters and sleeping on cardboard.
In the real world, local churches and local agencies are the only ones that make a difference.
At the White House, the kitchen is open 24 hours and the thermostat is adjusted by remote at one’s desk.
Hahah I just checked what do you know it is up since then (oct). Could be the nature of national news playing into it as well, but I don’t doubt JL not being around has some effect.
105 – nah it’s not bad, it’s 2000 unique people a day, up from 1500 this summer, still a shame it’s down from the 12-15k original PP had before the immigration blowout and the 5-7 that managed to stay around for the rest of 06-08, though it was trending down from 2007 onward.
Watch the show trials in NYC – protests, technicalities, putting Bush and Cheney on trial in absentia. It will go on for years, cost hundreds of millions and give the country a bad eye.
I wonder where he’ll stand with the new amnesty push?
I hope JD runs against him.
Arpaio is under FED investigation and a Grand Jury is to determine if he may have abused his power. Another witch hunt to try and undermine a possible gubernatorial run. IMO
He leads in the polls with everyone for the next AZ governor.
BCL – I see McCain is trying to look tough since it is an election year. He needs to appear to be conservative. Thus when re-elected (God forbid), he will assume his natural position on his knees.
I just saw the Hannity interview with Brown. When Hannity asked him if he was socially liberal he just kept blabbing and eating up time. He never answered. Why?

The left is a gang of crooks, nothing more. And Bush with all his open border crew was little better…..
The constitution was designed to be a barrier to such as these. But someone must enforce it.
Soon, the people will, if no one else does.
Simple, right? Well, we will see….
[2]
I am just pissed that the Secret Service got thrown under the bus when Obama was not surprised by these crashers at all. Something is really wrong.

Gee…ya think?

Now a bad driver MAY get you killed by driving you off a cliff…but Obama is AIMING for the freaking cliff!
[5]
Aren’t those the party crashers?
[6]
Bush was “evil” on borders and US sovereignty, imo.
Any chance we could ask LegalInsurrection.blogspot.com and bigjournalism.com for a spot on their link list?
What about Stacy McCain? Well, he’d charge us, for sure…..

Jesus christ is the data in that story accurate, and if so why is this not plastered on drudge?

Anyone just watch brown on Hannity?
[23]
My vibe is the guy is another mitt romney( pre-epiphany), just slightly more personable.
[24]
I don’t know if any of you saw Bob Barr on BOR. Barr is very soft on terrorism and seems to be somewhat of a fan of The One. BOR tore him up.
[25]
I think Brown was in campaign mode. To run in Mass, you can’t be right wing. He was staying center to center left, yet promoting common sense fiscal conservatism.
Mitt…… that’s probably a good analogy.
It would be a hell of an improvement over Teddy.
[26]
25 – Hey I’m not saying it doesn’t beat Teddy, but another person on team R out there saying everyone is entitled (to just about anything) isn’t helpful.
[27]
Speaking of slick mitt – he’s going to be on greata,,, cowinkidink?? I think not.
[28]
My vibe is the guy is another mitt romney( pre-epiphany), just slightly more personable.

Is that what he said? Sheesh……
[30]
Barr lost his marbles somewhere around 1998-2000.
[31]
29 – Now you know why I’m not donating. Shades of Olympia Snowe. Say the party is leaving you and your smallgov beliefs, then vote for trillions in spending and vote commiecare out of committee.
[35]
Regardless, it has the dems anxious. It looks like Martha Coakley got caught with her britches down around her knees. She didn’t campaign at all during December and (apparently) lost about half her lead.
If Brown wins or comes close, it will be an earthquake going into the midterms.
[36]
34 – I’m sure you can get the transcript or a clip in an hour or so if you don’t believe me. Someone at HHR confirmed what I thought I heard for whatever that’s worth.
[37]
Well I believe everyone is entitled to healthcare too. As much as they can afford, or arrange insurance for, or borrow/ barter for as they see fit.
[38]
So on what issue is Brown actually conservative? Guns and property rights?
If he will vote against obamacare and stop the dems 60 vote majority, I’ll take a chance with the guy.
I got news for you Mr Brown, the US does not have the money for any national healthcare plan, let alone Obamacare.
You cannot call yourself fiscally responsible and then come out for a national Romneycare plan…..
Come on man…..
[39]
Probably will be a roughly a Collins\Snowe type maybe a little better – Better then Teddy, but if he gets lots of press it could hurt the image, course the ? types will say it helps the image.
[40]

Brown calls out Coakley on amnesty.

[45]
This Brown is a fraud prople. Romney redux. No thanks
[46]
Romney is on Greta now. She asked him about RomneyCare. I read a poll that his approval rate is below 50% with Republicans.
[47]
I’ll take a rino in Mass. Yahoo’s right. Target the rinos in the red states. Accept them for what they are in the blue states.
And it doesn’t get any bluer than Mass.
[48]
I’m surprised it’s near 50%.
[49]
We ain’t gonna get an Inhofe or DeMint in Massachusetts. Brown is far better than Coakley. Let’s concentrate on ousting McCain, Bennett, etc. from red states.
[50]
47 – Yeah it does – Rhode Island, or as it should be called Liberal Island.

Coakley by 15 or Coakley by 1?

oh god… now Romney admires John McCain.. lol
[57]
Romney wins 2012 WH nomination hunt in “insiders” vote.
I forget, does the GOP have super delegates like the Dems? I think not. At least I hope so.
[58]
55 – More or less. I’d just split the difference, which isn’t a bad performance given the situation.
[59]
Perhaps Romney and Steele can team up and form a comedy team. Which one will be the back end of the RINO?
[60]
O/T They are showing the 1971 Oklahoma – Nebraska Thanksgiving game on ESPN Classic. How different football was then – Nebraska backs and receivers wearing tear-away jerseys, many more white players (and some even got to touch the ball – other than the QB and center).

57 – It was some national journal polling of “insiders” whatever’tf that means probably pundits, pols, and campaign people. Not really important I just figured I mention it cause sort of countered my prior statement.
[62]
59 – Would Romney show up in black face and Steele the show?
[63]
Republican insiders are the ones responsible for the mess the party is in. Why should anyone listen to him? Murphy looks like a Klingon.

Brandon, good post. It does not seem like Brown views healthcare as a right from that language. I mean as a government provided entitlement….
I read that on his website a few nights ago, which is why I was confused by KH’s statements.
KH, boo!
I hope Brown wins. We need him this year.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
[94]
Is JL still even posting, I popped in around new years and didn’t notice a post from him for at least a week or so.
[95]
Somebody posted over there last week, how great PP once was, a towering site that everyone linked and posted at.
Actually, his traffic was way above ours, we are in the top 2 million sites, but PP is in the top 100k.
Approximately 20 times as large. Astonishing considering the drop in commenters.
Late last year, Hannity quoted a Varones post from PP. So the site is widely read, even now.
[96]
93- I gotta say the lefty troll there were a riot, I read some comment on new years and just had to laugh, especially the GW settled science freaks – just out of there minds.
[97]
No, JL has not posted since like October, since the 3.5% GDP rebound, hahahahahah.
Ok I know that’s annoying to post laughs, but it is hilarious to me…..
[98]
Off topic.
It is 18 degrees here in NC, and I am watching a local report of the Salvation Army taking hot food and blankets out to the bridge people. It’s an underworld out there, and thank God for agencies like the Salvation Army. Obama isn’t doing anything to change the dynamic.
People shouldn’t have to live like that.
[99]
95 – Oh have no doubt his traffic is still far far better.
[100]
[101]
Why does Obama hate those veterans (channeling Edwards) under the bridge so much?
[102]
sigh…; Miami and VT were in big East when the played in BCS title game.
[103]
97 – It’s not annoying to post laughs, who ever gave you such an idea!
I’d bet his readership is probably slightly up since october then.
[104]
Likely enough….
[105]
Oh have no doubt his traffic is still far far better.
I’m fairly certain it’s just the residual from the people who haven’t yet deleted it from the bookmarks (or don’t know how).
[106]
Not surprising, but Dude. It would take a terrorist and 50 of his closest terrorist pals walking into Google offices with ’sploding underoos for them to get it. Morons.
[107]
The War on Poverty was lost about 40 years ago, but the money still goes out. All it does is grow government, and people are still eating out of dumpsters and sleeping on cardboard.
In the real world, local churches and local agencies are the only ones that make a difference.
At the White House, the kitchen is open 24 hours and the thermostat is adjusted by remote at one’s desk.
[108]
Hahah I just checked what do you know it is up since then (oct). Could be the nature of national news playing into it as well, but I don’t doubt JL not being around has some effect.
[109]
105 – nah it’s not bad, it’s 2000 unique people a day, up from 1500 this summer, still a shame it’s down from the 12-15k original PP had before the immigration blowout and the 5-7 that managed to stay around for the rest of 06-08, though it was trending down from 2007 onward.
[110]
Yeah, that……
[111]
MPT (#85)
Watch the show trials in NYC – protests, technicalities, putting Bush and Cheney on trial in absentia. It will go on for years, cost hundreds of millions and give the country a bad eye.
[112]
It’s every man for himself now, patriots need to band together and watch each other’s backs, and what happens to the stupid people, happens.
Sucks to be them.
[113]
111- Yeah it’s gonna be just awesome!

California seeks $6.9 billion federal bailout

[115]
Nice find JM.
Anybody here this BS from McAmnesty?
McAmnesty opposing zeeeeer0
I wonder where he’ll stand with the new amnesty push?
I hope JD runs against him.
Arpaio is under FED investigation and a Grand Jury is to determine if he may have abused his power. Another witch hunt to try and undermine a possible gubernatorial run. IMO
He leads in the polls with everyone for the next AZ governor.
[116]
From the AR15 Forum.
Was out at lunch this afternoon, and saw a truck parked near mine that had a bumper sticker that said in big red letters
PRAY FOR OBAMA
Underneath that in small black letters it had printed
Psalm 109:8
I was intrigued and just looked up that verse which says
May his days be few;
may another take his place of leadership.
[117]
115 BCL – McCain’s camp all but admitted to running those radio ads (and do so specifically on JD’s station) in anticipation of JD making a run.
Smoke and Mirrors to try and avoid a primary battle.
[118]
I wonder where he’ll stand with the new amnesty push?
Hmm. Doesn’t take much of an imagination to figure it out.
[119]
here=hear
gnqanq, I think I read where that some guy was investigated by the SS for that bumper snicker.
[120]
mp, that will sort of invalidate his ads then. Anyway, he’s full of it and worried.
KH, they’re already trying to shut up JD with a lawsuit by Grant Wood regarding his speaking of possibly running for the senate on his radio show.
JD said, so what. I’m not a candidate yet. Free speech.
[121]
BCL – I see McCain is trying to look tough since it is an election year. He needs to appear to be conservative. Thus when re-elected (God forbid), he will assume his natural position on his knees.
[122]
McCain is starting awfully early which shows panic. He hasn’t any opponent, yet.
[123]
121\122 – Yup he knows he we could be vulnerable peeps not in the mood for his typical BS.
[124]
I just saw the Hannity interview with Brown. When Hannity asked him if he was socially liberal he just kept blabbing and eating up time. He never answered. Why?
[125]
BCL – he did, just did not want to say it. Liberals (even RINOs) never want to admit the truth, better to filibuster.
[126]
Yep, he did.
[127]
Any of you ever had Russian River Brewery’s Pliny The Elder?
[128]
127 – uh no can’t say that have have, sounds tasty.
“He never answered. Why?” – Come on you know why.
[129]
SEC rocks RP, but I think if the Texas QB wouldn’t have gone down, Texas would have won that game…
