Conservatives Need to Follow Palin’s Lead
Eight months ago Sarah Palin was washed up – toast. July 3, the day she announced she would be resigning as governor JR, MFG and I were online at BJG. Knowing what a Palin fan I am, MFG was trying to virtually console me. All three of us lamented the fact that one of the strongest conservative voices would be silenced under the onslaught of Democrats and the liberal media.
A lot has changed since that day. Sarah Palin decided to mount an attack from a different direction. Using state of the art communication techniques, she started fighting back and became stronger than ever. She developed new electronic platforms to circumvent MSM and, in fact, mockingly refers to it as the “lame stream media.” She has 1.3 million Facebook followers, more than 75,000 follow her on Twitter and her book Going Rogue has sold more than 2 million copies and made her a multi-millionaire.
Anyone who reads the papers and “news magazines,” watches CNN, MSNBC or network news or listens to NPR is painfully aware of just how dumb Sarah Palin is (in addition to being a redneck snowbilly). If this type of gameplan can work for someone as “dumb” as Sarah, think of how successful it could be for conservatives with normal intelligence or perhaps superior intelligence (if any exist in the mind of LSM). The simple fact is that LSM will constantly try to promote a liberal agenda and destroy conservative candidates. Sitting there and taking it hasn’t worked in the past, and it will not work in the future.
Whatever your feelings about Sarah Palin or her politics, she literally represents the future of conservative messaging. She has shown the nation that a public figure who is absolutely reviled by the mainstream media can not only make a splash, but can dominate the public stage and attract the eyes and ears of the nation in ways almost no other figure can.
For the conservative movement, Palin represents a potential solution to the right’s unending problem of a news media that consistently sides with the political opposition. She is the first public figure to utilize (and, in some cases, dominate) multiple media, including traditional (television, books) and new (Facebook, Twitter) media platforms. The sum of her efforts should be the model for conservative politicians and public figures going forward.

? ON SUICIDE WATCH!!!
(especially today)
[2]
Palin’s philosophy is basically: Go ahead and try to destroy me. I will come back stronger than you ever imagined possible.
Conservatives need to follow her in two ways: 1) grow a set and fight back and 2) use the latest technology to circumvent LSM and get your message (“unfiltered” as she says) to the American public.
[3]
She’s done well, I’m pleased, her speech was well done, I think she’s positioning herself well for a Presidential run; I think ultimately all the psychotic hatred of Palin will backfire on the haters
Her future looks bright, here’s hoping she continues to grow and develop as a candidate
She seems to have very good political instincts
I especially like the way she playfully, gently mocks the left; there’s no meanness at all in it and I think it’s very effective
“How’s that Hopey Change working for you?” is a perfect, priceless example of that
[4]
MFG -
Others like Jindal, Ryan, Pence need to follow her example by making the most of state-of-the-art communications. I would say that that the RNC, NRSC and NRCC should do the same, but they are led by people who are “terminally ignorant.”
The “feel good” surveys asking questions like “do you think we should take stronger steps in fighting terrorism” and “do you oppose the government’s deficit spoending” followed by the request for a contribution got old the first time it was done.
It’s well beyond time to escalate the war with the media; to get it “front and center.”
[5]
Is Obama crying in that picture. If you look at it real close ………
[6]
I love that pic at the bottom of the piece. I wonder what poor slob of a staffer over at the west wing is assigned to follow Palin’s every word? I hope its a ultra lib woman so that it is as painful as possible!
I hear Fox is building a small studio for her use up there in Alaska as well.
[7]
I’d like to see someone find a way to completely circumvent the press and communicate exclusively via alternate media sources
If a conservative can find a way to do this then it’s game over for the Communists
[8]
MFG,
Here’s a pretty good advert for a district race — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8Fzp2Ur5WU
Very ‘in the face’ of his opponent. Palin is the model for bypassing the press. Doesn’t take much to implement.

Sarah Palin has more Facebook followers (1.3 million) than the NY Times has circulation.
W0w!
[10]
I think much of the Palin hatred is due to simple misinformation put out there by a “selective” MSM. For instance, a young doctor I know dissed Palin on her face book entry. I decided to get into it with her a bit, in a friendly fashion. Her reponse, meant to show Palin’s negative side was:
When I responded that Palin turned her fee around and donated it to the Teas, there was no counter comment. Obviously whatever she was reading about Palin forgot to mention the end game to her “fee.”
[11]
Saturday night Sarah beat Obama and his administration like a rented mule. Just in case you missed, here are the zingers:

“Sarah Palin has more Facebook followers (1.3 million) than the NY Times has circulation.”
… or any show on MSNBC has viewers.

Off topic, but something to keep an eye out for around the country…..
The US Constitution means nothing in King, NC
This two bit town is only a few miles from me, and has always been known for their speed traps and harrassment, but this is going over the top.
Stirring people up. 62 pages of comments so far on the WXII website.
[14]
King, NC in the above post suspended alcohol sales, gun sales and gun possession outside of your home, and imposed a curfew because of a damn snowstorm, less than a foot of the white stuff.
A martial law test run?
[15]
I never thought she was washed up. Leaving the Alaska gov mansion was one of the most selfless acts any poilitician has done in recent years. She couldn’t govern effectively because of all the s*** thrown at her, and did the right thing for Alaska. I knew she’d never “go away,” either, because she’s a fighter, believes in US and the U.S. instead of merely herself, and truly does have a Reagan flair. Not saying she’s the second coming of Reagan; just that she is helping people get excited again and believing that we CAN do what needs to be done. Not OBama hope’n'change nonsense, but believing in and promoting what makes this country great.
Do I think she should be the GOP standard bearer in ‘12? Not really sure. She’s doing great service to the country right where she is.

Jack Murtha, democrat PA, just died according to an annx on Rush Limbaugh show.
[18]
BC, impressive list. What’s the old adage — Sometimes its not the friends you have that are your measure of success but the number and quality of enemies you collect.
If that is the case then Palin is golden. But then Breitbart said it best — “Its you that suck!” — in referring to the MSM.
[19]
Correct that she was never washed up, especially in today’s volatile atmosphere where events are changing direction instantaneously. 3 years ago most never heard of Obama, 2 years ago no one thought he could win, 1 year ago many actually believed him to be competent, by next year: burn toast. Fastest rise & farthest fall in political history -only in America, only in the early 21st century.
[20]
My post went funny… heard rush announce that Jack Murtha died. I am sorry for his family’s loss. ……………………………………….
………………..
…………………………………….
Now I wonder what his kickback cronies will do?
[21]
Finny One, confirmed, Politico just streamed it.
K Street will be at half mast for a month.
[22]
Yuo can add Scarbrough to the Frum/Brooks/Noonan list now.
[23]
I am sorry for the loss of any life, but this guy was crooked as the day is long. His public service was a monument to graft and corruption.
[24]
I am watching twitter right now and my skin is crawling –’
RIP Jack Murtha. What a tragedy, what a great Democrat.

What planet do these people come from? Shudder.

Dem Corp:
47/47
…yes this is Paul Begala’s polling firm!
MEOW !!! MEOW !!!
[26]
Eph,
Numbers like that mean the center (I) support for Obama has collapsed.
[27]
King, NC in the above post suspended alcohol sales, gun sales and gun possession outside of your home, and imposed a curfew because of a damn snowstorm, less than a foot of the white stuff.
Yeah, I saw that. WTF is up with that? What goes through their heads that when they see snow they think “Those damn gun nuts are going to shoot up the place.”
[28]
I guess tweets don’t speak ill of the dead, drdog.
[29]
I just hope that Saint Peter in on coffee break and left the Marines to guard the pearly gates when Murtha tries to get in. Murtha may find out what justice is all about.
[30]
26. and if Begala has it at 47% you know it must be around 40% too
[31]
Scarborough sold out long ago. At least no dead women have shown up in his office lately (at least none that I am aware of).
[32]
Oh there was some of that too Mullet. Just not overwhelmingly. We C’s have more class than that.
[33]
the country has lost a great advocate for our men and women in uniform. Rest in Peace Jack Murtha
~~~~~~~~
Wonder what the men and women in uniform think about that statement? Especially those that went through a painful and expensive trial because of his great ‘advocacy.’
[34]
Judy,
Here’s hoping the standin for Peter is some grizzled 3 time war vet Sgt Major with 8 chevrons on his sleeve.
