Considering Obama is on the opposite side of the majority of Americans on virtually EVERY issue and that major tax increases are just around the corner, I find it amazing that his poll numbers are as high as they are.

  2. 2010 April 24 5:09 am

Some people polled may answer differently because of the fear of being labeled “racist” if they didn’t give a nod of approval to the anointed one. Come Nov in the privacy of the voting booth, that sentiment may no longer prevail.

Obama’s real approval rating is about 35%

Most polls oversample Communists and in the ones that don’t there is a reluctance for people to say they disapprove of a Black

His real approval is about 35% give or take a few points

    When is poetry night? Tonight?

I want to have the benediction ready

    I suggest the theme:

“Praise for the new AZ immigration law”

if you remember the original “Time Machine” movie then the New York City (Queens) scene IP posted makes “perfect” sense.

The big cities are inhabited by Eloi and Morlocks…except they co-habitate in our big cities, unlike the book & movies where they live seperately.

The Eloi are the “protected classes”, herded (or ‘nudged’) into tight enclaves where all is provided to and for them. As long as they vote Democrat then they continue to get stipends, subsidies and hand-outs.

However, occaisionally the Morlocks need to feed on them…leaving the Eloi unclear as to what to do. A few Eloi apparently called 911…way too late of course.

And this is EXACTLY the way the Democrats want it! A “protected” Eloi-class group of voters, and a Morlock-class of “citizens” that will keep the Eloi fearful and ever more dependant on the Government.

    Welcome to the future!

At one time States like NJ and CT were low tax. That’s why people resided there then commuted to Manhattan. The cheap land and low taxes is what drove the establishment of Levittown, NJ.

What an odd connection to make, using the Time Machine as a metaphor. But it fits.

The same thing can be said for California. Why are corporate headquarters located there? I remember a story about a woman who moved to Nashville with Nissan, when they moved their North American headquarters from the LA area. She upgraded from a 1,200 sq. ft. home to a 4,200 sq. ft. one and still had money left.

I think one of the greatest things to happen for a very long time was the signing of the Arizona immigration law. As was noted on the last post in the last thread, the content of this new law was taken directly from Federal law. Hopefully that will help it in standing up to the Federal challenges that are sure to follow.

Anyway, my hat is off to Jan Brewer for staying the course, as there was immense pressure on her not to sign it.

    Suh is a great pick

Everything will depend on how good the new Lions management is

Bottom line nowadays is that you should go from last to first in 3-4 years and if you can’t do that you need to sweep management clean and start over

My thought for Saturday comes from Honest Abe:

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred
You cannot build character and courage by taking away
    people’s initiative and independence
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them,
what they could and should do for themselves…

Real Clear Politics has posted bad news for Patty Murray in Washington. She can’t get above 46% against anyone and gets clobbered by Rossi in a Survey USA poll.

If she can’t win in liberal Washington state I predict the Republicans take back the Senate. Other senate races have been more competitive than that one.
