Cowardice & Greed

2010 May 26

Prior to the creation of the United States, every Colony in America already had a government that was supposedly looking out for them.

But it wasn’t the Massachusetts Colonial government that boarded the ships in Boston harbor On December 16, 1773 and threw the tea overboard.

And it wasn’t the Massachusetts Colonial government that faced the British military on April 19, 1775 and fired the “shot heard round the world”.

And in dozens of other acts of defiance leading up to the Declaration of Independence it was We The People who led the way.  Likewise in dozens upon dozens of instances during that time it was those very same colonial governments that refused to look out for the people they were supposed to look out for.  The colonial governments routinely sold out We The People…out of cowardice and greed.

Yesterday, New York City government officials approved the building of a mosque on what should be sacred ground for all Americans: Ground Zero.  They approved it out of cowardice and greed.

We The People are increasingly on our own…just like in the early 1770s.  Hold Fast!!

Scott Ott had this on his FB page yesterday:

“The man who meanly will submit to wear a shackle contemns the noblest gift of heaven and impiously affronts the God who made him free. Where justice is the standard heaven is the warrior’s shield.”
    — Dr. Joseph Warren, sermon on anniversary of the Boston Massacre, March 5, 1775

I meant to post it for you last night and forgot. Your thread reminded me!

We had a local NC company donate 50,000 pairs of panty hose to the Louisiana cleanup effort. I understand they fill them with human hair and pet hair to soak up the oil. They can be washed and reused.

    Call ’em panty-booms.

    Thank you, ladies.

Let’s see: If I were Osama Bin Laden, I would claim to the world that I knocked those buildings down so he could build a mosque in it’s place and look here, the U.S. is so weak that they are welcoming it.

This is a fart in the face of America. What a disgrace. We should let them build it, then build 4 huge baptist churches all around it, or Methodist, Presbyterian or Catholic or all four.

For the world is upside down, and I am about to fall off!!!

While I am not surprised the Community Council approved the mosque (because of political correctness), it’s still disappointing. I believe the Muslims made great strides in promoting their agenda as a result of 9-11.

7 – That’s exactly what I would do if him, probably the plan too, though even he probably thought it would take longer to accomplish. Allowing that built there is not “tolerance” it’s offensive stupidity.

    Speaking of stupid NY’ers.

MYFOXNY.COM – New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is reportedly pitching a plan for an increased “millionaire’s tax” aimed at 75-85 thousand New Yorkers making $1 million or more a year.

Political columnist Fred Dicker , who appeared on Wednesday’s Good Day New York, says Silver secretly proposed a $1 billion tax hike on the highest income earners to Gov. Paterson.

The plan would jack up a current millionaires tax another 11-percent. The current “millionaire’s tax” actually starts affecting people who have incomes over $200,000. High income tax earners would pay more than 13-percent of their salary in local taxes.

It’s like they are intent on forcing the wealthy and not so wealthy out of the state.
200k salary for a family of say 3 or 4 in NY\NJ\CT tri-state area doesn’t even remotely make you “rich”.

I wouldn’t worry about folks being MIA on occasion, it happens for a host of reasons. Some are busy with work, some are avoiding the news, and some are just argued out and need a breather. Obama and his antics have caused great stress on folks, and have caused rifts between others. Obama has taken a sword to the employers of America, leaving those with jobs needing to focus all their mental energy there. Just pray for those you miss. They know they are missed anyway I think.

Deadline for jobless benefits nears as Dems struggle for votes on tax and spending package
    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Dems-scale-back-bill-to-woo-apf-3484693260.html?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=main&asset=&ccode=

The cost of the bill would be partially offset by tax increases on investment fund managers, oil companies and some international businesses. The tax increases total about $57 billion over the next decade.

The expanded jobless benefits provide up to 99 weeks of payments in many states, at a cost of nearly $40 billion. The benefits are part of a bill that includes a one-year extension of about 50 popular tax breaks that expired at the end of last year and a delay in scheduled cuts in Medicare payments to doctors.

Subsidies to help laid-off workers pay for health insurance would continue through November, at a cost of $7 billion. States would get $24 billion to help cover Medicaid costs.
The bill would add about $84 billion to the federal budget deficit.

Raise taxes 54 billion over 10 years: Check
Spend an additional $84 billion we don’t have: Check
Yup – same old Tax and spend.

PSA on the Health Care bill. In HR3590 they layout how they will pay for it. Starts in 2011. Take your this years 1040, add $15k of income and see what it does to your taxes. Here’s the low down that somebody sent me.

    ————————-

The dollar value (cost of what the company pays for your insurance) will be considered income and added to your gross pay. You will be taxed on the total You will be required to pay taxes on a large sum of money that you have Never seen.

Take your tax form you just finished and see what $15,000 or $20,000
Additional gross does to your tax debt. That’s what you’ll pay next year.
For many it also puts you into a new higher bracket so it’s even worse.

This is how the government is going to buy insurance for 15 % that don’t
Have insurance and it’s only part of the tax increases.

Not believing this I researched the summaries and here’s what I’m reading:

    On page 25 of 29 :

TITLE IX REVENUE PROVISIONS- SUBTITLE A: REVENUE OFFSET PROVISIONS-(sec .9001 , as modified by sec. 10901) Sec.9002. “requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee
The aggregate cost of applicable employer sponsored group health coverage That is excludable from the employees gross income.”

Joe six pack will be pissed.Poetic justice for those who voted for this fraud. What will happen to these new revenues when the employer drops the insurance, and there is nothing to add to the w-2.??? More people to cover by the gubmint, less revenue to cover them. These people are insane.

Hopefully the GOP will exploit this provision to the max, but we know they won’t.
