Is Obama Fully Engaged on the Spill?

Barack Obama claims he is fully engaged in solving the oil spill, but the camera says otherwise.

The second link is a photographic history of Obama since the spill started.

First, Barack’s version:

WASHINGTON | Under pressure to step up his response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, President Barack Obama tried to assure the country Thursday that he and his administration are in charge and working feverishly to clean up the mess.

“My job is to get this fixed,” Obama said a day before leaving for his second tour of the gulf since an April 20 oil rig explosion triggered what’s now acknowledged to be the worst spill in the history of the United States.

“I take responsibility. It is my job to make sure that everything is done to shut this down. … The federal government is fully engaged. And I’m fully engaged.”

o/t sorry bc. Issa says Sestak offer is impeachable offense. More interesting though, he also says that by offering the Clinton story, even if it’s a cover up, they have admitted that they made the offer and broke the law.

    bold is mine

    http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/issa-sestak-obama-emanuel/2010/05/30/id/360558?s=al&promo_code=9FC6-1

The Obama administration’s offer of a job to Rep. Joe Sestak in exchange for his quitting a Senate bid is a crime and an impeachable offense, a leading Republican told Fox News Sunday.

Rep. Darrell Issa of California also said that, as with most crimes, the cover-up may actually be worse.
    (snip)

“It’s a crime because they’ve admitted that they offered this position … So that begs the real question. Do we believe this is a further cover-up because he’s — they’re now talking about a job that President Clinton himself should have known Sestak couldn’t take? ” he said.

“They’re now coming up with a nonplausible answer,” Issa told Fox News.

On Friday, the White House revealed that Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had asked Clinton to talk to Sestak about a presidential appointment if Sestak would suspend his bid for the Democratic Senate nomination.

It probably is an impeachable offense. However…..

    The following has to occur.

    * House judiciary committee has to commission the investigation into whether there is an offense rising to that level. If yes, then the motion is forwarded to the full house for consideration.

    * The speaker may set any rules necessary for consideration of the vote on the motion. Generally a simple majority vote is applied. If voted yes then it moves to the Senate for judgment.

    * The Senate Leader sets the terms of the trial. CJ SCOTUS presides as arbiter. Several House members appear for the prosecution. President provides his own defense.

    * Senate presides during the trial in full session. They eventually vote. 2/3rds are required to say aye for a motion to pass.

    * tada! He’s out of there.

Now lets assume the GOP takes the House back. Chances of impeachment happening? Zerooooooo. Without a 2/3rds vote in the Senate it ain’t happening. You can bet your bottom dollar the Senate will go a party line vote. That means at best 45-48 GOP, 55-52 Dim. No way to get to 2/3rds.

Better we spend our time getting HC repealed. Besides if impeachment became a campaign theme, it works against us. That line of reasoning will give the Dims what they need to bring out their base in droves.

Funny enough isn’t Rahm in Israel right now supposedly trying to repair all the damage this president has done to date? lol

From part of a reuters story.
“…. But Obama must also balance support for Israel, which is popular with American voters, with understanding for an angry Turkey and other Muslim U.S. allies.”

Really? What Other Muslim US allies?
lets’ list a few that might be even considered in that category:
Egypt: – Could care less about Palestinians
SA – Could care less about Palestinians, and have bigger worries with iran atm
Jordan – Could care less about Palestinians
KW – Could care less about Palestinians
Paki – Not one of our allies + Could care less about Palestinians
Yem – Not one of our allies + Could care less about Palestinians
Sryia\Iran – Could care less about Palestinians (clearly also no one of our allies)
Turkey – Technically but were they been for us on anything in the last decade?
fk’d us on iraq invasion, fked up with tentions in northern iraq for years, fked us with iran most recently.
Iraq – yeah like they give a ch1t.

Hmmm maybe they meant the french and the British? lol

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman says the boarding of the ships in international waters was legal under international law. He described the Gaza flotilla as an attempt to undermine Israel’s sovereignty.

Speaking to Channel 10 news on Monday night the FM said: “Israel is a sovereign state and cannot accept the undermining of its sovereignty. Israel has stopped ships in international waters before and when ships refuse to accede to warnings and obey instructions, we have the right to board them under international law.”

“They came for war,” was how one Israeli Navy commando described the activists aboard the Mavi Marmara Turkish passenger boat where clashes erupted early Monday morning and ended with at least nine activists dead and dozens others, including eight IDF soldiers, injured.

“Operation Sea Breeze”, as it was called by the IDF, actually began several hours earlier at about 11 pm Sunday night as the Navy made its initial contact with the Mavi Marmara and the other five ships which were part of an international aid flotilla on its way to try and break the Israel-imposed sea blockade on Gaza.

After several hours of radio communications and warnings that the Mavi Marmara would be boarded if the captain did not change his ship’s course, at 4 am Monday, OC Navy Vice-Admiral Eliezer “Cheney” Marom, who had set up a command post on the INS Victory, gave the order to Flotilla 13 to board the ship.

The three Israeli Air Force Blackhawk Helicopters hovering nearby made their approach above the Mavi Marmara’s upper deck. Sitting on board, the naval commandos could just make out the few dozen activists gathered below. Carrying non-lethal weapons as well as pistols, the last thing the soldiers thought they would walk into was a well-planed lynch.

Video of first navy solider being lowers and getting his ass kicked by those on the ship, later firebombs, and metal poles.

23 – One’s firing real bullets would be more appropriate in my opinion.

btw all 6 ships are not in port 5 of the 6 were taken without incident, no shock that the one with the vast majority of the protesters was the one where issues came up.
Interesting that 10 or so activists have refused to give there names.. they are not in prison, they had the option of providing their name and being deported asap they chose no – I wonder how many of those are wanted terrorists?

to any but the dim-witted Left the “humanitarian mission” was all about prepping the sea-lanes for more missiles to be fired against Israel. Whether these ships were carrying them or not, this was simply to plow the ground for those later missions.

Remember the last set of constructions supplies the north korean’s shipped them I think back in 2006; french boarded the boat and found 50k item of small to medium arms headed for gaza.

Not that I care in this instance but I do question how far out the boat still was; greater than about 40km\ 24 miles (give or take say a mile for variance) and they will be stretching their maritime claim and will need to claim coverage under something else. I’ve seen report ranging from 50km to 75km, but it never says which ships where exactly where at 4am.
