Junk Shot (aka Top Kill) Appears to be Working
BP first talked about doing this May 9. Why did it take an additional 18 days (while hundreds of thousands of gallons or crude flowed from the leak)?
Here’s one reason.

Meanwhile the oil is killing the Louisiana marshes, the toxic dispersant is poisoning the wild life and sickening fishermen and the economy of the States around the Gulf of Mexico will suffer for the years to come.
Why did BP and the Obama administration waited for the Top Kill so long? We are now told this is not even a new invention but something that has been used before.
Who had the responsibility to step up and kill the leak before it killed the hopes of the people in Louisiana?

Beautiful day yesterday at Comerica. Detroit Catholic League championships were played there. Unfortunately my daughter’s team lost 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth. Both starters went regulation plus two before either gave up a run.

Supposedly Obama is addressing this on radio and TV now.
The GOP should have split screen posters (Obama golfing and the oil spill).
This could have been done two weeks ago.

I think JM has it right in #4. The Obama administration deliberately let things get worse for political advantage.
For them to ignore the offers of help from other nations and other oil companies, and to delay Gov Jindal’s requests for dikes shows either extreme mismanagement or intentional obstruction. Even if the mud shot succeeds, there is still 50 miles of oil on its way to shore.
What do they gain? A crisis to work political advantage to get more regulation and more environmental red tape. They also move to cap and trade and a limitation of the use of fossil fuels.
The cost. Who cares about the people of the gulf coast.

So all I can tell from soundbites is that something is ’scandalous’ and it appears it’s how oil company and regulators are in bed with each other.
Oh, and that the Totus is lying through it’s gygabytes again.

They are both juniors and colleges are already looking at them. Ours typically throws a complete game and has a 90+ fastball. My guess is the other kid can throw just as fast.

One of these days, I think we will all wake up and it will still be 2006, and we all breath a sigh of relief and know in our hearts it CAN be worse than BUSH.
I wonder how different the horizon would look like under Billary or McCain/ Palin?
Would Hillary have tried to cram health care down our throats or would she still be gun shy from her try in the 1990’s when she thought she was elected with Bill?
An on-topic, sort of question….as when ever the 1 has the mike and can’t use the totus, he is such a rambler, and avoids the real answers…why do people continually say he’s so…brilliant? Bush wasn’t a great communicater, but he was a hunnert times better than the ‘O.’
