Obama Refuses to Meet with Jan Brewer

Ever since Arizona passed SB1070, it has been on the minds of Barack Obama and his Administration (none of whom appear to have read the 17-page bill). Obama, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder all have criticized the bill for having the “potential for racial profiling.”

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer will be in Washington this week on business and requested a meeting with the President. It appears the President is refusing to meet with her, claiming he doesn’t have time. Meanwhile, he does have time to honor Paul McCartney at a concert and recognize Major League Soccer champions – the Salt Lake City Real, a team 90%+ of Americans don’t even know exists. Yet, S.B. 1070 is a major issue for Obama and he doesn’t have time to discuss it. Could it be that Barack Obama is afraid of Jan Brewer?

In other news, Brewer removed Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard from S.B. 1070 (see link above) and replaced him with private attorneys after Goddard met with Eric Holder without Brewer’s permission.

Goddard, a Democrat, plans to run for governor of Arizona this fall. Terry, are you ready for an old-fashioned butt-whipping?

Is Barack Obama scared of a girl? Doesn’t he know the girls just want to have fun?

I mean it’s not like Jan Brewer has anyone advising her or plotting with her against Obama or something.

Let us be specific. Brewer removed the AG from the case. But the real deed was done by the AZ legislature. They added a escape hatch that permitted Brewer to do what she did. That sounds like a large volley of no confidence in the AG. That should be front page news in the AZ papers, but it is not. That the case Eph??

17 Other States Are Looking at Similar Laws

ALIPAC has documented the following 17 states are following Arizona’s lead in response to citizen pressure.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) has helped to pass some form of immigration enforcement legislation in over 30 states, while the group has also gained a national reputation for defeating legislation designed to give licenses, in-state tuition, and other taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens in 20 states.

He doesn’t want to meet with her, because he hasn’t read the bill. He knows it, and I’ll bet she knows it. It is far easier to declare something bad when you have only speculation and propaganda to go on than it is to continue mocking what you have full knowledge of. None of these clowns have read the bill.

Kris Kobach, a professor at University of Missouri – Kansas City, worked with the Arizona legislature to craft the bill. He should get credit too.Kobach is often on FNC.

    Brave Barack Obama ran away
    Bravely, ran away
When a challenge from Jan Brewer reared its head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
Yes, brave Barack Obama turned about
    And gallantly he chickened out
    Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat
Bravest of the brave, Barack Obama

I am not an attorney, but it would be reasonable to argue that if the US government failed to do things on the enumerated list (say like defend the individual and collective states against invasion) then the states would have the right to do that which the federal government either can’t or won’t do.

That would include taking action regarding the stopping of illegal immigration. The federal government has laws on the books to take action, but for whatever reason chooses not to act or not to act appropriately, therefore putting the citizens of the individual states at risk and in harms way.

And actually, what AZ passed pretty much mirrors federal law already on the books that the federal government chooses not to enforce. So AZ, CA and other states with such laws are not really going above and beyond the federal government

Secondly, the federal government has expressed (enumerated) control over rule of naturalization which means setting the standards by which persons from another country can become citizens of the US. Rules of naturalization really is more narrow than dealing with illegal immigrants who threaten the peace and tranquility on the citizens of AZ or any other state.

Brewer and the Arizona legislature deserve credit for standing up for their rights, knowing the feds would fight them every step of the way.

Governor Rick Perry: I did the safe thing. You are in great peril.
Governor Jan Brewer: I don’t think I am.
Governor Rick Perry: Yes, you are. You are in terrible peril.
Governor Jan Brewer: Look, let us both stand up for our states and for America and together face any peril.
Governor Rick Perry: No, it’s too perilous.
Governor Jan Brewer: Look, it’s our duty as Governors of American states to sample a little peril in the service of our states and America.
Governor Rick Perry: No, we’ve got to find a way to just submit and become Mexico el Norte.
Governor Jan Brewer: Oh, can’t you join with me and let us together face just a little bit of peril for our states and for America?
Governor Rick Perry: No. It’s unhealthy.
Governor Jan Brewer: I bet you’re gay.
    Governor Rick Perry: Am not.

    Jan walked into the valley
With her duty and the truth clutched in her hand
She was only a girl, but she knew
    Someone must take a stand

There will always be a valley
    Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
    Which someone must sail

    Into darkness, into danger
Into storms that rip the night
Never give in, never give up
But give thanks that you can the invaders fight!

Someone has to face the valley
Rush in, you have to rally and win, Arizonians
When the Child Emperor is saying not to
By God, you know you’ve got to march on, Arizonians

Never hold back your step for a moment
Never doubt that your courage will grow
    Yes, it’s higher and higher
And into the fight against the tyrant most foul you go!

    James Garfield

Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature. . . . [I]f the next centennial does not find us a great nation . . . it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.

Speaking of women in politics, it might be time to climb aboard the Carly Fiorina bandwagon.

Like many of you, I would prefer Chuck DeVore, but reality says it ain’t gonna happen. The election is a week from Tuesday and all the polls are reading the same way.

Carly is closing in on the magic 40%+ the winner will need. DeVore is mired in the mid-teens.

Carly ain’t Chuck DeVore, but she ain’t Tom Campbell or Barbara Boxer either.

Looks like Maureen Dowd is off the reservation, too.

You gotta be careful around Maureen. She’s been ridden more and has more miles on her than a 1995 Neon owned by a family with four teenagers.

On Obama……”A gift for reading the teleprompter is not the same as leadership.”
