US Debt $13 Trillion; $118k per Taxpayer

2010 May 26
by bc3b

From the Drudge Report this morning: the U.S. Debt Clock:

  • Over $13 Trillion
  • $42k per resident
  • $118k per taxpayer

Notice how much more quickly the debt is increasing versus revenues. Pretty scary isn’t it?

    Riddle me this, Batman.

Al Jezera…errr…Al CBSNEWS poll results (per DRUDGE) say that the public views Dem. Party more favorably (Dems viewed favorably by 37%–and unfavorably by 54%) than they do the Rep. Party (35% favorable and 55% unfavorable)

Yet individual polls show Repubs poised to gain AT LEAST 40-some seats and take over the House and Repubs in Senate races appear to be on verge of taking back the Senate, too (gaining 8 to 11 Senate seats).

The CBS poll also shows that:
–70% say they are unhappy with the way things are going in Washington
–45% say the Annointed One shares their priorities (drop of 13%) while
47% say he does not share their values (up 9%)
–only 13% say Barry’s economic programs have helped them
–80% say the economy is in bad shape
–50% say they say that life for the next generation will be worse than now
–only 20% say the next generation will have it better than now

And yet 47% APPROVE of Obama’s job performance (while only 42% disapprove)
    Jeeze Louise!!!

What reality-challenged inhabitants of what country on what planet are they polling?

If they polled US citizens, I want some of the drugs that they are obviously using.

Sounds like a lot of those polled would have trouble doing a connect the numbered dots puzzle.

CBS poll? So it’s probably 42/47 in reality.

I will be paying MY part of the National Debt off…and it will only cost me $116.90.

Each game of standard Monopoly comes with $15,140. I can buy a game of Monopoly for $15. Thus for the price of just 8 Monopoly games I can amass the $118,000 I owe…and have a nice tiddy sum of $3,000 in Monopoly money left over!

I’ll throw in the shipping cost to send the money to Barack!

Then I’m debt free and sitting pretty!!

    retlaw,

Check this out, great explanation from ED:

    http://hotair.com/archives/2010/05/26/obama-approval-rating-drops-to-47-in-cbs-poll/

Pretty much explains the C-BS poll.

Like I said, if they used “normal” partisan weights you probably have 42/49, or close to that.

Last week, one of the millions of workers hired by Census 2010 to parade around the country counting Americans blew the whistle on some statistical tricks.

The worker, Naomi Cohn, told The Post that she was hired and fired a number of times by Census. Each time she was hired back, it seems, Census was able to report the creation of a new job to the Labor Department.

48% still blame bush for economy, (lowest yet) I wonder if that number can ever even be less then say 35%, as that’s about the percentage of deranged dems out there that even two years from now will still be blaming bush.

Skipping the “fiscalese,” what happened was the budget freeze imposed by Gov. Christie when he took office generated more savings than expected, enough to cover much of the lost tax money.

Well I hear that Parker Bros will in a cost cutting move will not issue the fiat currency used in the Monopoly board game after 2013. They reason that the fiat US Dollar will suffice for that purpose. Inflation by then having made a dollar worth a penny by then. /snark

Obama is up to his neck in oil spill blame. Carville turned against him in a tirade this morning.

I think this loser is going to be the big loser in the spill. Now, 37 days into the disaster, he is going to interrupt his vacation to show up in Louisiana to announce new offshore drilling regulations. I gotta ask…….who is going to give a $hit about some future, yet to happen, spill when you are up to your ass in goo?

The reality of this is that once the well is shut off, there is still 50 miles of oily sludge floating toward the Louisiana marshlands, and nothing to stop it. No booms, no dikes, only estuaries and sea bird rookeries. Then, there is this loop current thing. Today, Louisianna. Tomorrow, Florida to the Carolinas.

Heck of a job, there, Bammer. Heck of a job.

Very good, Rahm leaving. The question now becomes, is Rahm the fall guy or does this go higher still?

I can’t imagine that Rahm just out of the blue made a job offer without clearing it with the head cheese. The GOP ought to be screaming for a special prosecutor.

And yes at this point I WOULD settle for Biden to fill the balance of the term.
