Sanchez Whacked by CNN

Rick Sanchez, one of the dumbest people in the history of broadcast journalism, was fired today by CNN. Now that a real-live Ron Burgundy is gone, the Situation Room will be reduced to an angry old drunk and the “chump” of Jepordy.

NEW YORK (AP) — CNN fired news anchor Rick Sanchez on Friday, a day after he called Jon Stewarta bigot in a radio show interview where he also questioned whether Jews should be considered a minority.Sanchez, who was born in Cuba and had worked at CNN since 2004, was host of the two-hour “Rick’s List” on CNN’s afternoon lineup. He did a prime-time version of that show in recent months, but that ended this week because the time slot is being filled by a new show featuring former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and columnist Kathleen Parker.

“He’s upset that someone of my ilk is almost at his level,” Sanchez said during a satellite radio interview with Pete Dominick. Details of the interview were posted on the Mediaite website Friday and quickly became a topic of conversation in the media world.

Sanchez said that Stewart is bigoted toward “everybody else that’s not like him.” He said Stewart “can’t relate to what I grew up with,” saying his family had been poor and he had seen prejudice directed at his father.

I have done my good deed of halting my hatred for 30 whole seconds (I counted out loud!) of CNN in celebration of this joyous news. I think even Allan is partying right now.

Now that’s a safety announcement I’d pay attention too.

On the Sanchez thing… err this was nothing to fire him over – his general assholeness was however.

Sanchez has been so lucky – from not being charged with vehicular homicide for the drunk driving accident after the Dolphins game to having a national show given his lack of intellect.

If Christie’s tough love routine saves the States bacon he will be around for a cycle or two. Especially if he breaks the back of the teacher’s union.

#15 That is nothing. Condoms, sex toys, “Are you DOING IT? Come in and get tested!”, etc. It is gross, and it is all on channels kids watch- at least out here.

Christie is showing a lot of politicians the way…but they have to have the balls to follow!

All I ask is a politician who actually DOES what he SAYS he will do. Christie does. I don’t have to agree with him on everything…but at least I know where he and I stand!

17 – and not enough to win a gop primary or be her #2; he fits where he is, though I agree his reelection in NJ will be tough, but it’s quite possible. I’m up in NJ now, there are three types of people here right now, those that love him, those that hate him, and those that don’t have a clue.

I send my girls toa PRIVATE RELIGIOUS day school so I dont have to worry about these things. To no avail obviously. I aready talked with the day school director about sex ed. If they have it my daughter will not be there. I doubt they will ha eit, too much brushback. Even from my fellow Jews.

About the gay conservation… I just reminded her about the book of Genesis – Adam and Eve. And that Torah should be her guide. She got my point.

I went to private Christian school. I had never even heard the term “gay” until I was in 11th grade. Even then, the word “fag” was something not associated with homosexuality. If you are a south park watcher, they pointed this out so well. Anyhow, this school had more drug use, sex, bullies, you name it- than the public high school I left to attend (begged to get out of the Christian school). Christian school is GREAT for elementary and maybe Jr. High. That is it, unless you really talk to the kids going there to see what the real story is. I am homeschooling my 7th grader, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

My girls will be done with Jewish day school after they complete 6th grade. The religious Junior High is about $10,000-$12,000 a year. I’ll roll the dice on public school.

I got thrown out of private a cathloic school but you knew that already and I’m sure it was no surprise. 🙂

A sort of Palin\Daniels combo I find more likely, assuming Palin actually runs and wins the nomination. I’m still not convinced she intends to run for potus in 2012.

1.. It’s important to have a woman who helps at home,
cooks from time to time, cleans up, and has a job.

    2. It’s important to have a woman who can make you
    laugh.

    3. It’s important to have a woman who you can trust,
    and doesn’t lie to you.

    4. It’s important to have a woman who is good in bed,
and likes to be with you.

    5. It’s very, very important that these four women
    do not know each other.

My step daughter and I really went the rounds from about 12-17. So it not always that ‘Daddy’ is immune. She went through the homesick phase, the nobody loves me phase, the I have no friends phase and finally the ‘my parents don’t understand’ phase. Just be there Eph, through all the scrapes, bruises and traffic tickets. Now days I am usually the first one to get a hug.

And good luck. You definitely live in the estrogen zone at your house! 🙂
